Après mes études j'envisage sérieusement de partir vivre en Australie pendant au moins 1 an. Pour cela je prévois de faire une demande de WHV, ce qui me permettra en plus de visiter le pays de pouvoir travailler un peu à côté...
Comme je pars seule pour l'instant j'avais pensé à être au pair dans une famille au moins pour les 3 premiers mois, du moins le temps de s'habituer à mon nouvel environnement... après je chercherais un boulot de serveuse ou quelque chose comme ça et le temps restant je voudrais faire le tour du pays.
J'ai le temps de m'y préparer vous me direz... donc pour l'instant je souhaiterais juste avoir les avis et réflexions de personnes qui ont déjà eu l'expérience d'un WHV en OZ, les réponses de ceux/celles qui prévoient d'y aller sont également les bienvenues...

Moi je suis partie en Australie il y a maintenant 2 ans de ça pour à peu près 3 mois et demi, j'ai tellement adoré que je compte moi aussi y retourner vers septembre / octobre 2010 (pas encore décidée 😛 ) pour une durée de 4 mois à peu près vu qu'après je compte enchaîner sur la Nouvelle-Zélande mais pour un an cette fois.
Bref si tu veux des infos n'hésite pas, je n'ai pas fait tout le tour mais ce que j'en ai vu reste gravé ! Alors surtout lancez-vous !

Tout d'abord 3 mois et demi pourquoi? Simplement parce que de graves problèmes familiaux m'ont obligés à rentrer... Dire que la réadaptation a été dure n'est qu'un euphémisme ! Parce que c'est qu'on s'y habitue très vite au mode de vie australien !
Déjà vouloir apprendre l'anglais, à mon avis ça peut se faire à condition de ne pas hésiter à se lancer ! C'est dingue, ça m'a frappé de voir les gens être à ton écoute, ils sont tellement ravis que tu fasses l'effort de parler leur langue qu'ils t'aideront volontiers ; en plus, je n'ai jamais autant progressé qu'en passant des soirées à discuter, en apprenant des expressions qu'on ne peut découvrir que sur place, entourée de personnes venant de partout ! Car oui, en Australie je n'ai pas rencontré que des australiens loiiiiin de là !
Sinon moi aussi j'ai fait du fruit picking, perso je n'ai pas adhérer, déjà je n'étais pas très douée (vu que je mangeais plus les cerises tomates que je ne les cueillais, 😛 ) et en plus j'ai trouvé ça très dur. Après ça dépend : la patate douce c'est horrible pour le dos, les tomates ça va c'est pèpère, les poivrons fait trop chaud (c'est sous une serre), et les tomates cerises vous l'aurez compris un piège pour les gourmandes lol ! Tout ça pour dire que moi j'ai fait du packing (c'est l'étape après le picking et c'est en usine ) faut aimer parce qu'on est enfermer pendant 12h, qu'on travaille tous les jours (même le dimanche) mais c'est super bien payé ! Et là-bas j'y ai rencontré des amis avec qui j'ai gardé contact.
Après on continue ! J'ai atterri à Sydney et le mythe australien c'est noyé (au sens comme au figuré) lol, disons juste qu'arriver en tong et jupe en plein hiver australe n'était pas la meilleure idée, même si on s'était dit "bah c'est l'hiver australien, ça compte pas !" ben si ça compte et il faisait froid et il pleuvait, mais à Melbourne c'était pire avec leur 5° ! En gros tout dépend de la période à laquelle tu souhaites venir ! Si tu pars en été là-bas tu peux arriver au sud, et sinon pour l'hiver va au nord où il fait très chaud (l'été OMG !)
Enfin le budget, disons qu'on a fait un peu les fous ! Je suis partie avec à peu près 1000 euros (hors billet) et je me suis bien débrouillée pendant un mois (sachant que j'ai fait du woofing après 1 semaine) et puis après j'ai bossé pour (bien) renfloué les caisses, et après voyages à nouveau ! Niveau transport, il y a des bus qui font toute la côte est où tu le prends et tu descends où tu veux pendant 3 mois je crois, bien pratique et très économique !
Voilà je crois que j'ai répondu à tes questions ! Franchement si tu en as d'autres sur un point précis n'hésite pas j'essayerais d'y répondre le mieux possible !
Pour info moi j'ai fait la côte est, un peu le centre et Melbourne voilà !

Alors en arrivant je me suis logée en auberge de jeunesse ! Et je ne sais pas où tu as lu que ce n'était pas mixte ! Mais de toute façon vous pouvez prendre une chambre pour 2 et n'êtes pas obligés de la partager à plusieurs !
Concernant le packing (comme le picking d'ailleurs) ce n'est pas aussi formel ! Tu travailles et tu pars quand tu en as envie.
Je suis partie avec emirates avec un stop à Dubaï, et franchement compagnie top ! Franchement j'imagine même pas la première classe ce que ça doit être ! Et sinon pas d'assurance (oui je sais c'est mal !)
Honnêtement détresse toi ! allez c'est l'Australie, que du bonheur ! Et puis ce n'est pas pour te stresser ou autre, mais tu auras beau prévoir ça ne se passera pas forcément comme prévu ! Ne serait-ce parce que tu rencontreras des personnes qui t'apporteront des informations que tu ne trouveras nulle part ailleurs !
