Hi there,
Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
Are there any special requirements before leaving France (aside from taxes...)?
Thanks to everyone for your help—every bit of info is useful. We’re aiming for a departure around 06/2010 (just need to save up a little more...).
Thanks again!

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for information about jobs in early childhood in New Caledonia. I’m currently a childminder in a MAM (multi-accueil) and I’ve also worked for about 6 years in several daycare centers as a childcare assistant. In the summer of 2026, my husband is being transferred to New Caledonia. We’ll be living near Nouméa. Do you know if the early childhood sector is a good field for jobs there? Can’t wait to discover this island! Right now, we’re in the middle of all the administrative paperwork for our 3 kids, finding housing, bringing our cat to the territory, and so on! Thanks for your feedback!!

I’m turning 65 and I’ve had enough! Enough of France that no longer feels like my France, enough of our societies that are too civilized, too globalized, too complicated...
I’d love to find a little quiet corner to spend my final years.
A beautiful, warm spot where dogs can still run freely, where social media doesn’t matter, where money isn’t supposedly the key to happiness, where there aren’t 10,000 people per square meter, no cars, no noise!
Just a tiny garden, a cabin, a stretch of beach nearby, kind and smiling people, a little café to hang out in, and good fruit that still tastes like something...
I mean, I’m not asking for the moon here, am I?
I don’t need much, right?
Who’s got some good ideas for me?
I already know it’s not in Europe, not in the United States, not in Australia, and probably not in Africa.
Can’t wait to read your suggestions! =D

Hi everyone!
I’m taking a sabbatical year and have 5 months ahead of me. I’d like to either go to Australia with a WHV (working holiday visa) and travel around while working, or go to Argentina to take Spanish classes and do some volunteering for a month, then travel around South America, passing through Brazil, Peru, Chile, and of course Argentina. What do you recommend? I suspect South America would be a more intense human experience, as it’s a poorer and less "developed" region of the world. I also wanted to know if it’s feasible to find someone sailing from Australia to New Zealand in Australian ports?
Thanks in advance for your replies :)

Hi there, we’re a family of four (kids aged 14 and 7) who’ve been living in Bali for 10 years, and we’d like to move to French Polynesia.
After recently selling our business in Bali and wanting to start a new venture quickly, we’re looking to buy a family guesthouse or hotel—preferably on Moorea.
Thanks
