hi there I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

Question for those who’ve done it: In theory (French national), I’m visa-exempt for a 30-day tourist stay, but on France Diplomatie it says on this page

Hi there, In November, we're heading off on a 4-month trip. We'll be landing in China and plan to leave the country via a land border into Vietnam. I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice. Has anyone here been in this situation recently?

Did the airline ask for an exit ticket before boarding? Did Chinese authorities require proof upon arrival? Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient? Is a cancelable or flexible reservation accepted?

Let me explain. I’m cutting it close for arriving around Chinese New Year in Guizhou. There are very few options to maximize (30 days) my stay—otherwise, it’s more like 25 days. I’ve found a "possibility," but for the return flight, the plane is scheduled at 12:50 AM, which is 50 minutes after midnight. So my question is: at what point am I considered "to have left China"? Is it when I clear customs or something else? Thanks.

I’ll be in Bangkok at the end of March and I’m thinking of heading to Chongqing, China, for a few days. I know China has a visa exemption program for French citizens, but a few years ago, I was in South Korea and wanted to go to Shanghai. They wouldn’t let me board because I was departing from Thailand instead of France—basically, the 3-day visa exemption at the time only worked if you were coming from Europe, not Asia. So I lost my flight tickets and accommodations and ended up staying in Seoul.

Now I’d like to give it another shot to visit that wild city, Chongqing. I read on the embassy’s website that "you can travel to China without a visa, even from a third country" (??)... But nothing’s clear—you call them, they don’t answer; you don’t know where to go to ask; and the website talks about 2025, not even 2026 yet. It’s kind of a mess...

Hello, We’re traveling as a family to China this summer, from late July to late August. However, my kids’ passports expire at the end of January 2026, which means they’ll have about 5 months of validity left after our departure. Many travel agencies recommend having more than 6 months of validity! I haven’t found any official information about this requirement. As a precaution, the best thing would be to renew them, but before I realized this, I bought domestic flight tickets using their current passport numbers. I’m worried these tickets might no longer be valid... Thanks for your help if you have any info on this topic.

- Do they really confiscate passports on arrival? - Do they also keep our phones?

And about medications—are there any limits? Do we need documentation or special precautions? Is there a risk they might be confiscated on arrival? (This treatment is vital for me.)

Hi there, I’m planning a three-month trip: my itinerary would be a flight from Paris to Hong Kong, then Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City, and later leaving from Lao Cai to enter China before flying back from Hong Kong.

If I exit the Hong Kong airport upon arrival to find a hotel (since my flight to Vietnam leaves the next morning), will I lose the benefit of the 90-day visa exemption? Especially since I plan to spend 3 days in Hong Kong before my return flight at the end of the trip?

Also, I’d like to know if the inbound flight to Vietnam will be enough to board and get a visa on arrival, or do I need to prove that I’ll exit the country after 45 days? Since I want to visit Sapa and cross into China by land via Lao Cai, do I also need to prove my departure from China, even though I already have a round-trip ticket from Paris to Hong Kong and back for three months?

- Frontières: Même si les liaisons aériennes internationales ont repris de façon progressive ces derniers temps, l'arrêt provisoire toujours en cours des demandes de visas tourisme ou la suspension de visas déjà émis équivalent de fait à une certaine forme de fermeture des frontières.

- Possibilités actuelles de voyage: A cause des mesures prises au niveau visas, les voyages à but touristique sont quasiment impossibles actuellement pour les personnes extérieures au pays.

- Quand envisager un voyage sur place: Même si la situation semble (officiellement) s'améliorer, mieux vaut ne rien envisager pour l'instant tant que n'est pas débloquée la situation actuelle d'obtention/utilisation des visas.

Indonésie

- Frontières: Contrairement à ce qui avait été avancé à une époque quant à la réouverture de certaines régions du pays (dont Bali), les frontières indonésiennes devraient rester fermées jusqu'en fin 2020/début 2021. De façon plus générale, les visas sont de même suspendus.

- Possibilités actuelles de voyage: Non.

- Quand envisager un voyage sur place: Aucune date d'ouverture des frontières n'étant prévue, mieux vaut ne rien envisager pour l'instant.

Japon

- Frontières: Officiellement fermées aux voyageurs ayant séjourné (notamment) dans l'Espace Schengen au cours des 14 jours précédant leur arrivée sur le territoire nippon. En clair, c'est fermé pour l'Europe (et bien d'autres pays comme le Canada). On peut néanmoins transiter par le Japon dès lors qu'on reste en zone de transit des aéroports.

- Possibilités actuelles de voyage: Non dans le cadre d'un voyage "classique".

- Quand envisager un voyage sur place: Tant que l'ouverture des frontières n'est pas d'actualité, autant ne rien envisager à court terme.

Thailande

- Frontières: Même si les liaisons aériennes internationales sont envisagées à la reprise, les frontières du pays sont fermées aux touristes européens jusqu’à nouvel ordre (des dérogations possibles dans d'autres cadres cependant)... bien que parfois apparaissent aussi des informations contradictoire sur le sujet. De plus la délivrance des visas est elle aussi suspendue pour la majorité des situations.

- Possibilités actuelles de voyage: Non dans le cadre d'un voyage "classique".

- Quand envisager un voyage sur place: Tant que l'ouverture des frontières n'est pas d'actualité, autant ne rien envisager à court terme.

Vietnam

- Frontières: Les frontières du pays sont fermées aux touristes européens jusqu’à nouvel ordre (quelques dérogations possibles dans d'autres cadres cependant). De plus la délivrance des visas est elle aussi suspendue pour la majorité des situations.

- Possibilités actuelles de voyage: Non dans le cadre d'un voyage "classique".

- Quand envisager un voyage sur place: Tant que l'ouverture des frontières n'est pas d'actualité, autant ne rien envisager à court terme.

donc voilà on sait donc que c' est possible d'avoir le visa chinois 45 jours a l' ambassade d'Hanoï !

je voulais vraiment 45 jours et la plupart des gens sur ce forum n avait obtenu que le visa 30 jours.

j'ai tenté ma chance et j'ai donc gonflé le fameuse Itineraire qu'il faut remplir pour l'ambassade. je n'ai même pas menti sur mon intinéraire mais j'ai juste gonflé mes dates en spécifiant que je restais par exemple 3 jours ici, ou 6 jours par là ! Je voulais vraiment avoir un visa de 45 jours pour ne pas être juste juste sur le voyage et ne pas devoir trop me presser.

j' ai donc été a l'ambassade ce lundi ( allez y vers 6h-6h30 du mat même qi ca n'ouvre que à 8h30 car il y a beaucoup de monde) avec:

-passeport - photocop passeport - photocop visa vietnamien -2 photos d'identités - photocop de compte bancaire ( j avais 3000€ dessus) en anglais - photocop assurance rapatriement( en anglais) - photocop de réservation d'hotel ( j ai mis mes 3eres nuits en chines pour assurer le coup, avec booking et en anglais) - photocop du billet avion/ ticket de bus ENTRÉE en chine ( pour ma part je vais entrer par Lao Caï, du coup j'ai acheté un ticket de bus Hanoï-Lao Cai à 270k dong à "Sapa express" avec un post it écris dessus " 1 night in Lao caï and next day bus from Hekou to yuanyang" - photocop billet SORTIE de Chine ( comme j étais pas sur d avoir le visa 45 jours je voulais pas réserver un billet d avion pour après devoir annuler donc j ai acheter un billet en location pour 48H Bestonwardticket.com , en moins de 12h et pour 12$ vous avez un vrai billet d avion valable 48H ;) - votre itinéraire de 45 jours sur feuille papier ( j ai fait ca NIKEL sur word avec différentes couleurs pour les régions, villes etc enfin une belle présentation quoi..) - le formulaire dispo à l'ambassade.

ENSUITE au guichet, ils vous poseront quelques questions, moi ils m ont demandé combien de temps je resterais, j ai dit "45 jours, tout est ecrit sur mon itinéraire" et ils ne m ont rien dit. où est ce que vous allez apres la Chine ? comme sur mon " vrai-faux " billet d' avion, en thailande ( même si c est pas vrai).

et donc ils vous donnent un reçu rose avec en haut écrit un chiffre qui correspond au nombre de jours en chine ( vérifier bien) et en bas écrit 30$ le prix du visa.

elle vous dira qu'il faut revenir à tel date avec 30$ à l'ambassade ( je suis allé le lundi et j ai recuperé le visa le jeudi donc 4 jours ouvrés )

ne perdez pas votre reçu rose c'est important pour récupérer votre visa !

bonjour à tous, les formalités administratives évoluant sans cesse avec le pays du milieu, je sais que ma requête peut sembler incongrue, mais j'ai besoin d'envisager des jours meilleurs. Je projette d'accompagner 2 jeunes filles de mes amis quand elles auront obtenu leur BAC , l'une sera majeur , l'autre pas ( donc 17 ans et 18 ans dans 3 ans). Quant est il dans ce cas et surtout est-il possible d'obtenir un visa de groupe. J'ai encore du mal à digérer le visa que j'ai payé pour ne pas y être aller en février 2020. Merci pour vos conseils.

bonjour à tous, après 2 périples en été et un raté cet hiver à cause d'un petit truc, j'aimerais connaître le prix pour un chinois pour venir en france ( j'ai cru voir que le visa était de 80€, moins cher que pour nous) , mais peuvent-ils avoir aussi des vols autour de 500€ ( en été et au départ de Beijing ou Chengdu).
