Tourist Attractions
Intérêts (rated ): Nature ; Adventure ; Culture ; Relaxation/Holidays
Fuerteventura is primarily a relaxation and holiday destination, with some beautiful yet rather "harsh" landscapes.
Cultural Heritage
Very little to see here.
Beaches and Coastline
Like most of its neighbors, the island has developed a beach tourism industry, with spots like Corralejo or Morro Jable well-known in this regard. However, even though tourism began here over half a century ago, its growth has been less excessive than on other islands like Gran Canaria. In short, fewer crowds, less concrete, and a bit more tranquility.
Nature and Activities
For many, Fuerteventura’s landscapes appear harsh and desert-like, both along the coast and inland. That said, the island is far from lacking charm—quite the opposite. However, it’s true that Fuerteventura isn’t a hiking destination, and activities tend to revolve around the sea. You can go diving, surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, or head offshore for deep-sea fishing.
Must-See
