Airports in Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro has two airports:
- Rio de Janeiro-Galeao Airport: also known as Antônio Carlos Jobim (named after the co-founder of bossa nova), it is the main airport for the city and one of the largest in Latin America.
- Santos Dumont Airport: very close to the city center, it specializes in domestic flights with local airlines.
