Location Map of Cuba
West

The west is the region stretching from the outskirts of Havana to the tip facing Mexico. For tourists, it’s a mix of heavily visited areas (the capital, Varadero, and, to a lesser extent, Viñales) and others almost forgotten by travelers, like Guanahacabibes or Isla de la Juventud.
Central

This part of the country is home to Cuba’s most beautiful colonial cities, including Camagüey, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad—just to name those listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. It’s also here, along the northern coast, that you’ll find the main all-inclusive beach resorts, starting at Varadero and continuing along the Sabana-Camagüey Archipelago and its famous "Cayos."
East

The east, or Oriente, is Cuba’s eastern region. Economically underdeveloped and less visited, it still offers stunning landscapes, including the "famous" Sierra Maestra, beautiful beaches like those north of Holguin at Guardalavaca, and, above all, a side of Cuba quite different from the rest of the country.
