Je me permets de upper mon post car je viens d'acheter mes tickets pour l'ESB et je voudrais savoir si la queue est vraiment moindre ! Car on paye 2 dollars de plus (lol). Plus sérieusement, je voudrais savoir si des gens ont acheté leur ticket pour Top of the Rock sur internet car à ce que je vois on doit choisir un jour et une heure pour la visite... Mais j'espère me tromper.
Voilà merci encore à tous de m'avoir aidé si patiemment à organiser mon fabuleux séjour (fabuleux, je l'espère).

Slt, pour ce qui est du telepherique... c'est pas mal, il part de roosvelt island et arrive en plein milieu des buildings de manhattan. Bonsoir Jeffny. Peut on utiliser le téléphérique avec la metrocard ? J'ai lu un article sur wikipédia qui dit que oui et renvoie sur le site de MTA. Cependant je n'arrive pas à trouver l'info sur ce site. @+

Jeudi après midi :
Times Square : incontournable mais préférable de le voir une fois la nuit tombée, les néons n'en ressortent que mieux; de toute façon si tu loges à proximité tu le verras de jour le lendemain
Gran Central : vu ton programme serré, un bref passage en allant au Chrysler ... et c'est un amoureux de Grand Central qui te parle)
ONU : pour une première visite à NYC et aussi courte, moi je laisserais tomber
Chrysler Building : le plus beau des buildings de Manhattan mais ne compte pas y monter, c'est impossible; zoom bienvenu pour apprécier la finesse architecturale du sommet!
Rockeffeler Center en fin de journée et nuit : je suis un fidèle partisan de Top of the Rock plutôt que ESB car d'une part il permet de voir l'ESB, que d'autre part la vue sur Central Park est époustouflante. Réservation des billets possible depuis la France sur leur site :

Vendredi :
Wall Street : y passer rapidement en descendant à Battery Park pour aller prendre le ferry de Staten Island
Ground Zero : plus que le site qui reste empreint de tous ces souvenirs qui nous reviennent lorsqu'on est face à ce "trou" béant, si tu veux te remémorer le 9/11, je te conseille la chapelle Saint Paul; située à proximité du WTC, elle est rapidement devenue le jour des attentats le lieu de recueil et de repos de tous les héros du 11 septembre (pompiers, policiers, ...) et est devenue le lieu d'un mémorial bouleversant
Statue de la Liberté (avec le ferry gratuit, on ne ferrait donc "que" la voir) : excellente option : sur le ferry n'hésite pas à sortir sur la passerelle (même si les portes sont fermées) à l'avant pour faire les photos dont tu as toujours rêvées, surtout au retour ; et quand tu arrives à Staten Island essaie de sortir parmi les premiers du ferry (si tu es déjà sur la passerelle avant, c'est parfait), marche d'un pas rapide et reviens dans le terminal pour prendre le même ferry dans le sens du retour; ca t'évitera de perdre du temps
Brooklyn Bridge et Brooklyn Heights (il me semble que c'est le nom de la "promenade") : le pont de Brooklyn est un ouvrage majeur de NYC; si tu ne veux pas trop perdre de temps, tu peux ne le franchir que sur la moitié (puis rebrousser chemin) pour faire tes photos, et te laisser envouter par Manhattan sous cet angle "inédit"
Soho
GreenWich : pour moi l'un des plus beaux quartiers de NYC; je ne t'en dis pas plus et va te promener dans ses rues.... Si tu es amoureuse de séries, tu reconnaitra beaucoup de lieu surtout si tu aimes Sex in The City (beaucoup de lieux de tournages sont là bas)
Pour ce qui est shopping, laisse tes envies s'exprimer: il y a des boutiques partout. Difficile de te conseiller sauf si tu as des envies précises (à ce moment là, donnes les nous et on verra ce qu'on peut faire....)
Samedi :
5th Avenue : le mythe !
Broadway : que veux-tu voir de Broadway? Les théâtres? La rue est très longue, attention... Le quartier des theâtres est au nord de Times Square.
Flattiron Building : oui, pour le cliché
ESB : mouais, voir plus haut
Dimanche :
Central Park : très bonne idée, le classique avec un pique-nique si le temps est au rendez-vous. Les incontournables : la Great Lawn (la grande pelouse d'où tu pourras faire de très beaux clichés de Manhattan avec le contraste nature/buildings), le tour à pied du Réservoir Jackie Kennedy Onassis (le lac), un coup d'oeil à la grande sortie Est pour apercevoir les marches du Metropolitan et la façade inouïe du Guggenheim Museum
Ensuite, je suppose que ce ne sera que ta première visite à la Grosse Pomme. Tu auras le temps de mieux explorer par la suite.
Je suis moi même amoureux de cette ville est j'y vais chaque année depuis 3 ans.....
Voilà à peu près les coins que j'aimerais voir.
Je suis ouvert à toutes corrections, ne connaissant New York que par l'intermédiaire de films, séries ou encore jeux vidéo ^^. Et je suis très intéressé par l'histoire des USA c'est pourquoi si vous pensez que la visite de Staten Island est compatible avec mon programme je la ferais ^^. J'aimerais aussi savoir, si en Avril les files d'attente sont longues ? et si les contrôles de sécurité sont stricts ?
Sinon je retournerais sans doute à New York car c'est comme Paris, on ne peut pas la connaitre en un week end ^^ mais juste avoir un bon aperçu.

Oui pour Top of The Rock tu dois choisir le jour et l'heure de ta visite. C'est contraignant mais cela te permet d'arriver sur place et de monter au Top sans faire aucune queue...... (ou presque).

Je te conseille de traverser le pont de brooklyn et descendre pour avoir ce genre de vue et attendre le coucher de soleil (attention le pont est plus long que ce que l'on pense et quand la nuit tombe, les rats sortent 😛)
Sinon bon choix aussi pour le top of the rock (cf photo). J'y étais allé fin septembre en fin d'après midi et aucune attente au niveau de la billetterie (un coup de chance peut être).

L'ONU, je vais voir, car j'aimerai travailler dans les relations internationales plus tard et donc ça peut m'ouvrir l'esprit sur la question mais ça reste à voir.
J'ai deux questions maintenant, j'aimerai écouter du Jazz mais étant mineur y'a t-il des bars où je pourrais aller avec mon père ?
J'hésite toujours concernant Ellis Island, je voudrais savoir si le musée est VRAIMENT intéressant surtout pour une première fois... Car la traverser avec le ferry de Staten Island me tente aussi... Mais voir la statue de près et faire le musée de l'immigration ....🤪

Il serait plus judicieux d' aller à Brooklyn en métro fin d'après-midi, d'y admirer le coucher de soleil et l'éclairage de Manhattan pour la nuit (entre les 2 ponts-quartier DUMBO-), puis de revenir sur Manhattan à pied en admirant la vue sur Manhattan illuminé

Vers 16h, visite Wall Street, achat Century 21.
Ensuite Traversée du Brooklyn Bridge de jour vers Brooklyn. Diner à la pizzeria Lucali ou Grimaldi's.
Photo de la Skyline de nuit ! Retour à l’Hôtel. Prendre un verre à The View ? Visite de Times Square

Visite de Chelsea Soho et Greenwich village. 8ème Avenue 630, New York Times Remontée de la 5Avenue depuis le début jusqu’à l’Empire State Building. Shopping, balade sur la journée ! Monté de l’ESB fin de journée.

Et les horaires que je mets ce sont soit pour savoir combien de temps je dispose soit pour me situer dans la journée ^^. Et les adresses, ce sont des lieux que j'aimerai voir mais il n'y a vraiment que l'immeuble de FRIENDS pour la photo ;).

Pour le 24, je te conseil de d'abord faire La Statue de la Liberté et Ellis Island en 1er, prend le premier ferry entre 8h et 8h30, car je l'ai fait jeudi dernier a 8h pas de prob, mais quand je suis revenue entre 11h30 et 12h, il y avait une queue terrible, +/- 4h d'attente.Et quand tu reveins a midi tu peux visiter largement le sud de Manhattan tranquille.
Voila bon voyage, je te jalouse un peu car ca fait 4 jours que je suis revenue et j'ai le blues déja.
Le ferry je l'ai reservé à 12h sur internet car à8h il n'y avait plus de billets .... J'ai fait une grosse boulette ?🤪

Oui c'était géant, c'est assez magique de quitter Manhattan et de voire la ville derriere nous, et puis t'arrive en face de la Statue, le bateau ralentie et la tu prendras tes meilleures fotos, une fois dans le bateau met toi a tribord (a droite) derriere sur le pont ou en haut.
Vue que tu as réservé je pense que tu ne devrais pas avoir de prob, ne fais pas la queue et va te renseigner directement auprés des gars qui controle ton ticket et prie que c bon.C'est juste a l'entrée d'une grande(immense) tente blanche.
La Statue n'est pas aussi grande que l'on croit, tu verras par toi meme.Mais aller a N-Y sans la visiter c'est comme aller a Paris sans passer par la tour Eiffel.
Profites en a max c'est tout simplement magnifique.

non je pense pas, c'est un peu trop compliqué pour moi a faire, et je suis un peu fainéant.

Merci pour le rappel, mais hier, je cherchais impatiemment un commentaire sur ton séjour et j'étais tombé dessus, et aujourd'hui t'as rajoutter les photos qui sont vraiment super, tu as plus de talent que moi, questions photographie.Bien content que ca t'ai plu, et comme tu le dis, retournes y, car moi en y retournant j'ai pu faire plein de chose que je n'avais pu faire la premiere fois.J'ai fais pas mal de ville en Europe, mais New-York c'est gravé dans mon coeur, et j'y retournerai.
Voila bien revenu a la réalité, moi perso ca fait 10 jours que je suis revenu et je suis encore nostalgique.

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
