hi everyone,

Haven’t been back to Goa or Gokarna in a few years, and I’m wondering if there were a lot of Russians around recently and/or last year. Not really keen on finding myself in the middle of that, I think you can understand why!

I went to Goa—not the beaches, but the hinterland for the birds. The guesthouse owner, who’s married to a Russian woman, saw the surprise on my face. We chatted, and he told me there are a lot of Russians there, even more so since the war in Ukraine. Best,
