Hi! I’m doing the Viking Legend cruise, and if you have any great tips, I’d love to hear them. We’re not big on excursions—we prefer to explore on our own. So if you can help us out, that’d be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

We just returned from this cruise from March 31 to April 11, 2025.

There are plenty of visits you can do on your own. Copenhagen: hop-on/hop-off bus right at the ship, first departure at 9:30 AM. Be careful, there’s also the "sightseeing" company, but I don’t know where their departure point is. You can also catch it at the "Little Mermaid" stop, which is about a 15-minute walk from the port if you’re not walking fast. Lysekil: there’s a free shuttle from the port to the town with two stops—one called "promenade" for those who want to walk along the beach, and the second in the town center where you can see old houses, a church, and a remarkable building, etc... For those who prefer walking, it’s about 10-20 minutes from the port to the town center. OSLO: the port is in the city center near the opera and the museum. Tourist buses are available right outside the port. There’s also a tented shop facing the ship where you can make purchases and ask for tax-free forms. Kristiansand: the port is in the city center. The cathedral opened at 11 AM, and there are wooden houses in the Posebyen district, but I found them less pretty than in Lysekil. Zeebrugge: aside from the chocolate museum near the port (which I found out about too late), there’s not much to see. There’s a small shop across from the exit with souvenirs and chocolate. You can take the train to Bruges, but I didn’t since I’ve already been to Bruges and Brussels. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need more info—great cruise! Mum49

Good evening, For the layover in Kristiansand, I forgot to mention there’s a little tourist train right by the boat exit that does a city tour for the equivalent of 15 €. Card payment is possible. The last departure was at 1 p.m. on the day of our stop. No tourist train in the afternoon. Mum49
