Hi, I’d like to know if anyone has ever tried using coconut oil before applying sunscreen to avoid sand fleas.

Lots of positive comments online about it.

Looking forward to your feedback!

Hi there! 😊 I’ve heard about using coconut oil before applying sunscreen, but I haven’t tried it myself yet. It’s true that it’s often praised for its moisturizing properties and natural protective effect against certain irritations, like sand flea bites. However, keep in mind that coconut oil doesn’t provide sun protection on its own. I think you should still apply a suitable sunscreen afterward to avoid sunburn, especially in highly exposed areas. As for sand fleas, some people claim that coconut oil can help repel them, but this is subjective, and opinions vary. If you really want to prevent these little nuisances, I’d also recommend wearing long clothing or sticking to cleaner areas of the beach. If other members have tried this combo or have additional tips, I’d love to hear what they think too! ;)

Hi there,

There’s nothing really effective against sand fleas. You’ll just have to deal with it, that’s all. It’ll hurt the most the next day or the day after—whatever you do, don’t scratch.

Have a good trip.
