Hi there, I’m looking for info on the visa for India: duration, cost, and a reliable website to apply. Thanks!

Hi there, For a stay of less than a month, you need to apply for an e-tourist visa. The process is to apply online not too long before your departure. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully when uploading your ID photo. The cost is roughly 27 €, including processing fees, I believe. You’ll receive an ETA authorization by email within 48 hours, which you’ll need to print out for travel. On arrival, you’ll have to present your passport and ETA at an "e-tourist visa" counter, where they’ll take your fingerprints and confirm your visa, valid for 30 days from your arrival date. There’s only one official site for the application: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in Other sites are service providers or scams that’ll charge you a fortune.

Hello. Thanks a lot for the info! They’re asking me for over 100 €. So, I need the "e-tourist visa" after all. I’ll take a good look. Thanks again.

It's the 30-day e-tourist visa. Make sure you go to the right website.

Hi Padmalya, you need to carefully follow the instructions given by Pagaljavab and go to the only official website to apply for an e-visa here: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html It costs $25 for a 30-day e-visa from July to March. Make sure to prepare the documents in the correct size, otherwise the upload won’t work! (photo and passport). Prepare your answers in advance—write everything in uppercase without accents or punctuation. Just follow the instructions strictly, and everything will go smoothly!

Re: Information on visas for India
Hi, As mentioned above, the correct site is: indianvisaonline.gov.in/...html Not: indiavisaonline.ORG.in/...html The two sites look almost identical, but the second one is much more expensive! Also, if you're planning to return to India, there's a 5-year visa that costs a bit more but will save you from having to go through the formalities again.

Hello. And thank you very much. Do you know if a photo older than 6 months is still valid? Thanks

Personally, no problem—I reuse the same one from year to year... As long as the "physical" situation is more or less the same! !

just a quick "administrative" question if you can help me out: I can't start any new discussions, only reply... I get this message: Oops! You are not authorized to access this page or use this feature. Would you happen to know why? Thanks a bunch!

I’d be hard-pressed to answer you since I’m not part of the VF team at all 😄. But since there seem to be occasional bugs with some site features—like "edit my message" not always being available—it might be a similar glitch. Your best bet is to ask the VF admin team!
