Salut à tous, je débarque tout juste sur ce forum et, après l'avoir feuilleté, je vous pose mon projet d'études à Montréal. Je voudrais avoir des avis sur celui ci, des conseils pour ma future vie là bas, des bons plans et j'en passe.
Alors, pour commencer, voici comment je m'y suis pris.
Début Mars j'ai fait les démarches pour faire un DEC en Infographie sur Montréal (durée de 3ans). Normalement, j'aurais du postuler pour la rentrée de JAnvier 08 mais par chance, j'ai été accepté pour celle du mois d'aout de cette année au Collège Ahuntsic. D'après ce que j'ai entendu, ce collège est bien réputé.
Au niveau du voyage, le plus petit prix pour le billet d'avion (j habite entre lyon et geneve), est de 622€ au départ de Geneve le 6 aout.
Sur place, je compte me poser dans une auberge de jeunesse (aubergechezjean) pdt 1mois voir 2 le temps de choisir mes cours, connaitre un peu la ville et le pays, connaitre un peu de monde et voir même faire ma rentré. Et surtout ne pas arrivé là bas et se dire "bon, je fais quoi..."
J'ai commencé à regarder les locations de logements et, à ma stupeur, j'ai vu que pour moins cher ou au même prix qu'en France, on trouvais des logements beaucoup plus "honnête" qu'en France...J'ai déjà fait des recherches il y a 2ans sur Lyon et Grenoble, pour le même prix sur Montréal j'ai trouvé des trucs bcp plus intéressant.
Au niveau de l'administratif, j'ai rempli le CAQ, il me manque plus que la partie de la sécu. J ai appris que la sécu (francaise) ne me prenais pas en charge (et surement de meme pour ma mutuelle) car je ne passe pas par un organisme pour aller étudier la bas. D'où ma question. J'ai appellé le ministere de l immigration mais j'ai eu du mal à bien comprendre ( entre la mauvaise qualité de la ligne et - attention je ne dis pas ça méchament- l accent québécois) la procédure à faire. Mais le peu de ce que j ai compris est: prendre une assurance quebecoise ainsi que leur Sécurité sociale. Il faut aller chercher un formulaire à la sécu francaise. Est ce bien ça?
J'ai aussi un dernier point "noir" à éclaircir. C est celui de la banque. Sachant que je part pour 3ans, il est préférable de prendre une banque Quebecoise, de rester avec ma banque actuelle (caisse d epargne) ou de prendre une banque mondiallement représentée (HSBC) ? Je compte aussi trouver un petit boulot là bas mais je serais principalement "sponsorisé" par mes parents (ralalala ces jeunes !). Quelle est la meilleure solution?
Est ce bien les bons choix que je fais?

Tu pose pas mal de questions alors je vais esseyer de répondre à quelques unes.
En ce qui a trait à tes papiers il ne te manque que ton permis d’études si je comprends bien. Mais si tu as déjà eu le CAQ ça ne devrait poser aucun souci (hormis encore de la paperasse a remplir !). Pour le papier de la sécu comme tu ne fais pas un échange tu dois en demander un spécial, j’ai oublié le nom (SQ 402 Q quelquechose) mais ton centre de sécurité sociale devrait l’avoir (explique bien ton cas et ils devraient te donner le bon). Dans ce cas tu ne sera plus assuré en France mais tu aura le droit à une carte d’assurance sociale québécois (carte soleil).
Pour ta banque je te conseille d’ouvrir un compte ici, c’est vraiment simple et généralement gratuit (Caisse populaire Desjardins par exemple). Tu demandera a tes parents des transferts (y’a des frais mais si tu en fais peu et des montants importants ça passe)
Pour le travail fait attention ! tu vas avoir un permis d’étudier donc pas de travailler (hormis si tu te trouve une job dans l’enceinte de ton école). Tu pourrais essayer de travailler au noir mais perso je te le déconseille car c’est surveillé et tu risque une expulsion et une interdiction de territoire. Par contre au bout de 6 mois, si tes notes sont correctes tu pourra demander un permis de travail (tu ira voir le responsable des étudiants étranger de ton école ou le responsable du service aux étudiants et il t’expliquera le tout), mais c’est pas encore pour tout de suite malheureusement !
Voila mon aide, mais comme moi je n’étudie pas a Montréal je ne peux pas t’aider pour le logement etc mais il devrait sûrement y avoir du monde sur ce forum pour le faire. Sinon tu peux aussi regarder le forum du site immigrer.com, il est spécialisé dans le domaine de l’immigration au Québec et canada (dont pour les études)
N’hésite pas si tu as d’autres questions
Une des conditions est que l'emploi doit être à temps partiel, max 20 heures semaines, durant les sessions d'études. Tu dois aussi faire la demande du permis d'études pour étudiant (150$).

Oui Nikky, Je le sais que les étudiants ont le droit de travailler hors du campus, c'est d'ailleurs ce que j'ai répondu mais certaines conditions s'apliquent. Selon la page web du ministère (http://cic.gc.ca/francais/etudier/travailler-horscampus-qui.asp): "Pour être admissible à un permis de travail hors campus, il faut : avoir un permis d’études en cours de validité; étudier dans un établissement participant (pour avoir la liste des établissements participant au Programme de travail hors campus, reportez-vous à la section Liens connexes au bas de cette page); avoir été étudiant à temps plein pendant au moins six des douze mois ayant précédé la date à laquelle vous demandez un permis de travail; avoir des résultats scolaires satisfaisants (pour en savoir plus à ce sujet, voyez la section Liens connexes au bas de cette page); signer un formulaire autorisant l’établissement, la province et Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada (CIC) à communiquer des renseignements personnels sur vous (pour confirmer que vous continuez à étudier à temps plein et que vous avez des résultats scolaires satisfaisants). "Moi je disais ça pour qu'il sache qu'il lui faudra attendre avant de présenter sa demande et donc qu'il puisse planifier correctement son budget.
Donc, j'ai récemment appris que ma demande de CAQ avait été ouverte il y a 3 jours et que j aurais une réponse d ici 40 jours ouvrables...Sachant que je dois aller à montreal début aout (le 6) je compte surement y aller en temps que touriste puis une fois tous les papiers en temps qu étudiant.
Par contre, savez vous si j ai besoin d un visa ? J ai mon passeport depuis juin 07 et j ai entendu dire qu il n y avait (ou pas) plus besoin de visa maintenant...J'ai vu aussi sur le site de l ambassade que des permis d etudes "blitz" pouvaient etre livrés pour les etudiants dont les démarches sont tardives, mais il faut le CAQ...
Si vous venez à Montréal sans votre CAQ et la lettre de l'ambassade, vous n'aurez pas votre permis d'études. Le permis d'études est délivré uniquement au point d'entrée (aéroport ou frontière terrestre canado-américaine).
Pas besoin de visa si vous êtes citoyen avec un passeport français, peu importe le type de passeport (à moins que vous voyagez via les États-Unis mais je présume que ce sera un vol direct vers le Canada).

Comme l'a dit Nicky tu ne pourra pas avoir ton permis d'étude ni t'inscrire à l'université tant que tu n'aura pas ton papier officiel ! Mais si jamais tu décide d'arriver plus tôt pour te chercher un appartement ou te familiariser avec les lieux tu peux parfaitement le faire en tant que touriste. Une fois que ton papier sera arrivé (fait le toi envoyer par ta famille) il te faudra ressortir du territoire (le plus simple étant à la frontière terrestre avec les usa) et rerentrer. À ce moment là les douaniers te doneront ton permis d'études.
Moi je ne l'ai pas fait mais les échos que j'ai eu c'est que tu peux juste faire "le tour du poteau" et donc ne même pas rentrer aux usa. Je m'explique : tu quite le canada puis tu entre dans la zone franche, avant les lignes de douanes des usa il y a la possibilité de faire demi-tour. Donc tu re-rentre au canada et le tour est joué !
Bon courage et j'espère que tu aura tes papiers à temps (petit rappel : le permis d'étude peut s'obtenir dans la journée si tu prends la peine de te déplacer à l'ambassade du canada à Paris)
J'ai déjà reservé mon billet, mon auberge de jeunesse et je comptais y rester un mois ( je dois aller le 7 aout a Ahuntsic choisir mes cours et...Voir si ils leur restent de la place en infographie là ou j avais postulé -_-') et aussi me trouver un toit. J ai vu que les locations de studio/appart étaient beaucoup moins cheres qu'en France...
Pour ce qui est de la paperasse, je suis super dégouté car j'ai fait aussi vite que j ai pu, j ai recu mes papiers de mon college mi juin, le temps de réunir ce qu il fallait j ai envoyé ma demande de CAQ début juillet et ils l ont ouverte que début de cette semaine...J'avais vu sur le site de l ambassade pour obtenir le permis d etude en "Blitz". Le soucis c est qu il faut le CAQ et c est là ou je coince...Donc je compte quand meme partir le 6Aout, allez choisir mes cours ( je vais appeller mon college demain pour leur expliquer ma situation et voir si je peut quand meme choisir) et une fois mon CAQ recu, on m envoit ca a l auberge, je fais les papiers et soit je renvois tout a l ambassade du canada soit je passe par l ambassade francaise (si c est possible). Pour le coup du poteau, moi on m avait dit encore plus simple ^^. C est de renter/ressortir de l ambassade francaise :D.
Je suis dans le même cas que toi. Je n'aurais jamais mes papiers à temps snif!!

Et bah voilà, 5 jours avant mon départ je suis enfin prêt - ou presque- ! J'ai reçu mon CAQ Samedi midi ( super...), j'ai du reeeeeemonter sur Paris ce mardi pour faire mon permis d etude "Blitz" et me voilà avec le mail comme quoi tout est bon...Ouf !!! Je me voyais entrain de faire le tour du poteau déjà :s. Billet d avion pret, passport pret, auberge de jeunesse prete, moi....Pret !

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Hi, I’m a self-employed physiotherapist in France, and as my wife (a nurse) and I look into working abroad in about two years, I’ve been offered an equivalence to become a respiratory physiotherapist in Switzerland. Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area. Anyway, that’s not the main point—could anyone explain the pros and cons of doing this job in Switzerland? Based on the paperwork I’ve received, the equivalence seems purely administrative or almost... What about working conditions, quality of life, salaries, etc.?

• Altogether, this adds up to a *Bac+2* level.

Regarding my work experience:
• I work as an *Employment Counselor*.
• I checked on O*Net Online for the classification: Job Zone 4, SVP Range: 7.0 – <8.0.
• I only have one year of experience, but I handle similar tasks in business creation.
