Thanks for this stroll through Thailand. I just discovered—better late than never—that the forum is active again, and what a pleasure to see some of the original contributors back here!

It's a pleasure! And how did you find out the forum had reopened?

I’ve been chasing a travel memory from Thailand that keeps slipping away, and I wanted to try digging through old posts to find it. Then I saw there were recent contributions—so happy! 😊

If you're talking about Mike, yeah. I didn’t know you knew him. A really nice couple. We still keep in touch, but I haven’t seen them in 2 or 3 years

Hello, I know I’ll make some people happy by posting these photos. Three days ago, I hopped on my bike, really wanting to see these primates. These langurs live in groups of 15 to 20. I counted 4 groups that come every day around two temples close to each other. They come down from the jungle between 3 and 5 PM, depending on the season, and the monks or neighbors often give them a few bananas. You can get pretty close to them, of course. And for a few years now, gibbons have been showing up occasionally at one of these temples, perched high up in the trees. They’re shyer and keep their distance. For the first time, I also spotted a red-faced macaque. Not knowing this species, I kept my distance—and I’m glad I did, based on what I read later...

Definitely, the langurs seem way friendlier than the red-faced macaques 😏

😮 What on earth did you tell him to make a monkey blush like that...

It was mostly what I showed him that put him in that state. Oh well, that’s lame, never mind, I’ll leave it, I’ll own it 🏴‍☠️
