J'aimerais avoir du "Feed back" de gens qui sont déménagés au Costa Rica et ceux qui projetent d'y aller. J'aimerais beaucoup faire le grand saut mais j'ai quelques réticences... puisque c'est une idée un peu folle. J'ai un ami du Costa Rica qui demeure là-bas et lorsqu'il me parle de son pays je l'envie mais je me dis qu'habiter au Costa Rica depuis toujours n'est peut-être pas aussi objectif que quelqu'un qui a fait le grand saut... Quelqu'un qui a décidé un jour de tout abandonner (travail, appart, auto... dans le fond le petit côté matériel-confort). C'est difficile de trouver du travail là-bas, une maison... en fait de se refaire une vie ? Je parle français, anglais, un peu d'espagnol que j'ai appris avec mon ami que je suis après améliorer à l'école.
Mon ami a vécu 3 ans au Québec donc j'ai connu la culture latino (j'ai adoré) et je suis allée en vacance en l'an passé et j'y retourne en septembre.
Des fois je me dis que mon idée ne fait pas de sens puisque beaucoup de gens de ces pays veulent immigrés ici... Alors pourquoi moi je voudrais faire le contraire ? J'imagine que je ne suis pas la seule à avoir ce projet et avoir des inquiétudes et surtout des questions.
C'est simplement parce que l'herbe est toujours plus verte ailleurs.
Des fois je me dis que mon idée ne fait pas de sens puisque beaucoup de gens de ces pays veulent immigrés ici... Alors pourquoi moi je voudrais faire le contraire ?

Effectivement c'est ce que je me dis.. lorsque je serais vieille j'aimerais mieux dire "Je suis contente d'avoir faite l'expérience" au lieu du bon "J'aurais don du !"

L'autre point qui me fait beaucoup hésiter c'est que je devrais tout laisser ici et recommencé à zéro et lorsque je reviendrais (si je reviens) je devrais encore une fois tout recommencer à zéro... Ça prend du courage et aussi une p'tit peu d'argent de côté ne ferait pas de tord.
oui! effectivement de recommencer à zéro fait toujours peur. Le changement et l'inconnu ça insécurisent, je te comprends. Nous sommes partis mon mari, mon fils et moi pendant 3 mois faire les Caraïbes, nous avons fait 7 îles pour voir laquelle serait faites pour nous... Nous sommes revenus, nous venons de tous vendre, notre maison etc... Nous partons à la découverte des États-Unis cette fois et ensuite ce sera l'Europe.
Nous avons décidé de profiter de notre vie et de notre argent maintenant et pas à notre retraite lorsque nous ne pourrons plus ou bien nous serons malade. Notre fils n'a que 9 ans et nous voulons voir le monde entier.
Allez vas! et si tu as à revenir, bien tu verras à ce moment là... rien ne sert d'essayer de voir l'an prochain, vis maintenant. Pas pour l'an prochain, tu ne sais même pas si tu seras en vie...
si tu veux je peux te conseiller un peu j habite au costa depuis deux ans e demi avec ma fille de 16 ans, tout se passe impec ... mais je pense qu on va bouger de pays pour la fin de l annee ... pour voir ailleur .. et vivre encore plus

Le coût de la vie comparativement à celui du Québec, la facilité à se trouver un emploi, un logement et tout racheter ça peut coûter cher (meubles, frigo, poele... ) ? J'aimerais aussi avoir un aperçu des conditions de vie et du système de santé... et finalement la décision qui vous a faites décidé à quitter votre pays ? Pour faire ce grand saut ça doit prendre un peu d'argent ou seulement un billet d'avion et une bonne dose de courrage ?
J'ai un ami à Quepos, qui est originaire du Costa Rica et j'y suis allée en vacance l'année passée. J'ai vécu 1 semaine dans la ville et j'ai eu l'occasion de voir un peu la vie et je crois que je pourrais m'adapter. Ta prudence me parait tres saine. J'ai vecu plus de 10 ans au Costa Rica et j'en suis partie pour diverses raisons, la principale etant une nouvelle politique migratoire qui faisait que je devais depenser beaucoup trop d'argent a mon gout et faire trop de demarches.
Par ailleurs, depuis quelques mois la crise a frappe le pays, comme partout ailleurs. Mes amis costariciens me disent que la situation economique devient de plus en plus difficile.
Je te proposerai pour commencer de TRES bien te renseigner aupres du consulat du Costa Rica au Canada, sur les conditions migratoires. Ensuite (et beaucoup de personne le font), venir vivre 3 mois (le temps de ton visa touriste) d'abord, voir comment cela se passe et ensuite prendre ta decision.
Petits conseils qui me semble pourraient s'appliquer a n'importe quel pays au monde.
Malheureusement je n'ai pas eu beaucoup de réponses, mais le message après le tien donne de l'info. Je sais parcontre que la situation économique n'est pas facile ces temps-ci là-bas étant donné que c'est beaucoup touristique.

allo! Pour répondre a tes questions, nous voulons prendre une année sabbatique et vivre quelque chose de stimulant. Nous cherchons un endroit sécuritaire, surtout pour notre petit garçon, un endroit chaud (pas neige....) et dépaysant.J'ai regardé du côté de la république dominicaine mais on m'a dit que la sécurité pour les touristes n'était pas évidente. C'est difficile de faire un choix. Nous avons j'amais visité le CR.
Je pars en Septembre mais seulement pour 1 semaine de vacance 🙁

Non, la vie n'est pas si peu chère comparé au Québec...disons qu'au Québec, notre "pouvoir d'achat" est plus grand qu'ici. Mais nous avons appris à vivre avec moins de possessions matérielles et on est super heureux! Nous n'étions JAMAIS venu avant au CR! On s'est dit " Au pire, on revient au Québec!" hihih! Le best c'est d'avoir un plan B au cas où ça ne fonctionnerais pas!
Nous avons trouvé un appartement au bout d'une semaine de vie à l'hôtel avec l'aide des proprios! (les gens sont gentils à un point inimaginable ici!!!) Mon conjoint s'est fait engager par HP et la compagnie nous fournis la résidence temporaire. Moi j'enseigne l'anglais dans une école privée pour un bon salaire! Bref, pour nous, la vie est belle, tout fonctionne super bien et on ne se plaint vraiment mais vraiment pas! Je ne regretterai jamais cette décision!!! Ça prend du courage et de la détermination mais maudine qu'on est fier de nous d'avoir réussit tout ça!!! =)

Oui on est très bien reçu ici! Les gens sont sympas, intéressés par les étrangers qui choisissent leur pays et toujours prêt à vous aider! Vraiment très chaleureux!
Économiquement, le ralentissement se fait de plus en plus sentir comme partout ailleurs. (surtout côté exportations)
et le tourisme a baissé d'environ 35-40% à certains endroits (selon les nouvelles locales). Le pouvoir d'achat est déjà très bas...en ce moment ça stagne. En espérant un retour à la normale bientôt! 🙂
La vie est très cool ici. Il fait soleil presque chaque jour, les paysages sont magnifiques peu importe où l'on se trouve, les gens sont super souriants et le stress ne fait pas partie du langage quotidien! C'est ça la pura vida! Tout va bien, la vie est belle..bref, on vit véritablement un jour à la fois! 😎

nous, nous envisageons de venir sur place l'année prochaine, quelques jours afin de nous rendre un peu compte, ma femme parle l'espagnol et moi je me debrouille aussi un peu en anglais ....
l'idée de départ est de trouver une région qui nous plaisent, aussi de trouver a louer ou a acheter un appart ou une maison et de venir ensuite chaque année quelques mois ( au debut 1 ou 2 mois) pour voir si celà nous plait vraiment, de nous impregnier de la vie et de la culture locale et de nous laisser le temps d'organiser notre départ et notre arrivée à terme...
Nous sommes ici depuis 20 mois, avons notre résidence temporaire et avons chacun un excellent emploi!
Je ne sais pas si nous y vivrons pour le reste de notre vie (mon mari et moi) mais tant que nous nous y plairons, nous y resterons! 😎
Il est important de parler l'espagnol ou du moins l'anglais! Mais les régions non-touristique parlent très peu voir pas du tout anglais! Raison de plus de commencer un peu l'espagnol! Quoique cela ressemble beaucoup au français à mon avis et ça s'apprend très rapidement! 😉

Si non, voici une question beaucoup plus terre à terre: ferai-je une erreur en en emportant avec moi tous mes appareils électriques fonctionnant en 220 volts (lave-linge, lave-vaisselle, frigidaire, ventilateurs, etc...)? Il semble que le CR accepte ce voltage. Est-ce vrai partout dans le pays.
Non il n'est pas utopique de vouloir venir vivre comme "pensionada" dans ce magnifique pays chaud et ensoleillé! 🙂 J'y vis depuis 2 ans et c'est la meilleures décision que j'ai prise dans ma vie! 🙂
Par contre pour le 220...ici ils ont (comme partout en Amérique) le 220 offert pour le four électrique et pour les sécheuses (sèche-linge). Le reste fonctionne sur le 110. Dans une maison/appartement normal vous trouverez donc seulement 2 prises de 220 et les autres en 110. Alors à moins que vous n'aviez un adaptateur (qui existe pour le 110 vers le 220...mais existe-il pour le 220 vers le 110? je ne sais pas), il n'est pas recommandé d'apporter avec vous tous ces électro-ménagers. Vous pouvez aisément trouver des endroits tout meublé à louer en attendant de voir si vous comptez rester longtemps au pays.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
