Bon, pour commencer, je dirai aussi, laisser tomber les à priori, c'est un peu comme débarquer sur la planète Pandora, faut mettre les compteurs à zéro.
C'est difficile à expliquer, mais arriver sur place, observes bien et tu absorberas petit à petit toutes ces nouvelles notions.
Ceci dit, la Th cela peut être le paradis comme l'enfer très rapidement, les contrastes se côtoient et les extrèmes sont vites atteints.

En thailande le coaching est a ses début et peu on leur licence... donc tu as raison de te méfier de l amateurisme.......des ...tout savent tout......

Pour commencer il faudrait voir pourquoi tu viens en Thaïlande. Six mois pour découvrir un pays et repartir ensuite à la maison, six mois au même endroit à tirer un maximum de filles entre deux gueules de bois ou six mois pour voir si cela te plait, s'il y a du potentiel en fonction de tes aptitudes et pour concrétiser une éventuelle installation?
Comme d'autres l'ont dit, se débarrasser de son regard d'européen et éviter les jugements hâtifs.
Visiter plusieurs provinces, des plus touristiques aux plus authentiques en se donnant chaque fois assez de temps pour réellement découvrir la région et ses habitants. Dans les zones plus reculées il est souvent pas mal d'avoir une personne-relais qui saura t'orienter, t'expliquer et te décrire un peu la vie sur place.
N'investit en rien trop rapidement, que ce soit pour le coeur ou le business.
Commence à potasser un peu de vocabulaire thaï, c'est une marque de respect qui sera très appréciée et de toute façon cela te dépannera quand tu sortiras des sentiers touristiques (si tu désires réellement découvrir le pays et non pas vivre six mois d'orgie) et qu'il sera plus dur de trouver des personnes baragouinant deux mots d'anglais.

Pour aller vivre dans n'importe quel pays du monde, je pense que le conseil principal est le même : chercher à comprendre et oublier ses préjugés.
Pour comprendre (et se faire comprendre), la langue du pays est indispensable. Sinon, on reste en marge de tout.
Apprendre le thaï n'est pas facile, demande beaucoup de temps si l'on veut savoir lire. Et si l'on n'apprend pas à lire, on sera très limité au point de vue vocabulaire et expression.
Ne comptez pas trop sur l'anglais en Thaïlande, sauf dans les zones très touristiques. Les Thaïs ne sont pas plus doués que les Français et même les étudiants et étudiantes, sauf rares exceptions, se sauvent quand on leur parle anglais...
Donc, pour résumer, conseil principal : apprendre la langue !
Bon, et c'est là où les athéniens s'atteignirent, car je ne connais que des
falangs qui veulent apprendre mais qui ne maîtrisent guère mieux que moi ...
Cà existe, des falangs qui parviennent à être bilingues (on en voit à la TV)
mais c'est très rare, donner cette condition pour "comprendre" le pays est
largement décourageant ...
On peut très bien "comprendre" tout un tas de choses (1) sans parler
parfaitement la langue ni -à fortiori- la lire (2), la patience, les gestes, un
petit dictionnaire de poche et un petit cahier (pour griffonner) peuvent
être très utiles !
On peut aussi n'y rien piger même en lisant et écrivant ... (çà c'est partout)
Dans tous les cas : un grand sourire ... (c'est la seule chose in-dis-pen-sable !)

Il ne faut pas non plus décourager les vocations, d'autant plus que si en effet la prononciation en thaï est cruciale, la grammaire est archi-simple.
Autant accéder au thaï écrit me paraît ardu, autant arriver en quelques mois à s'exprimer sur le quotidien est envisageable. Evidemment, de là à soutenir une conversation philosophique, c'est autre chose...

Ce que je veux dire c'est quand on arrive dans un nouveau pays, on est un peu perdu, on sait qu'on doit faire attention, mais on est moins mefiant envers ses compatriotes. On se dit qu'ils ont connu la meme chose que nous, on fantasme sur un lien particulier du seul fait de la nationalite commune.
Ceux qui ont reussi peuvent effectivement aider, ils le feront gracieusement. Mais il y en a certains qui sont en galere et voient des proies faciles dans tous ces farangs qui arrivent avec leur petit pecule. La regle est donc: si on te propose une affaire en or dans laquelle tu dois investir ton argent, ca sent le chameau...
L'exemple le plus frequent dans le nord sont les bars et restaurants a reprendre... toujours presentes comme des super affaires avec une clientele fidele et blablabla (l'excuse c'est toujours "le proprietaire doit rentrer en France pour des affaires personnelles")...
L'autre classique est un business a monter de toute piece en partenariat et pour lequel tu dois verser de l'argent... plus l'affaire est presentee comme excellente plus c'est louche. Et lorsque c'est discute sur un coin de table autour d'une biere et d'un steak, il faut fuir.
Regle d'or: arreter de fonctioner a l'affectif dans les affaires, habitude tres francaise, et la jouer "a la chinoise": sourire et intransigeance.
Reponse a ta question "A qui fais-je confiance en Thailande": a personne. Ca n'empeche pas d'etre cool et sympa dans ses relations. La Thailande est le pays du paraitre (on dit "du sourire" c'est la meme chose).
+ 1 avec le doc. Nord ou sud, même problématique. Les affaires sont les affaires, pays du sourire ou pas. Pour éviter de se retrouver au pays du soupir....

Je n'avais pas l'intention de décourager qui que ce soit, bien au contraire ! Et il n'est pas nécessaire de parvenir au plus haut niveau pour se débrouiller dans la vie de tous les jours, ce qui est le premier pas le plus important.
Si on sait lire et écrire, c'est mieux, mais ce n'est pas indispensable.
Ce qui est dommage, c'est que beaucoup de gens décident dès le départ que c'est trop difficile, alors que les gamins de la communale s'en sortent.
A raison d'une petite heure par jour, au bout d'un an on peut mesurer le progrès.
D'autre part, s'entraîner est facile car n'importe quel thaï parle facilement de n'importe quoi à n'importe qui, même inconnu.
Quant à ceux qui viennent faire du business, acheter des maisons et investir sans savoir ce qu'ils signent, ils prennent des risques !
Il n'y a pas de paradis sur cette terre, mais la Thaïlande bien comprise peut y ressembler...

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
