Je trouve que vous pouvez aussi choir les hôtels confortables peut - être avec la salle de bain avec la douche et la baignoire et au prix moins cher. vous pouvez chercher les hôtels sur le sites comme Agoda, Booking.com, Fastbook, gotorate, hotel.de, venere..., dans les dernières minutes peut-être vous avez la chance d'être réservé les chambres bon-marché.

j'habite à samui depuis 2ans et pour ce qui est de voir des choses ce n'est pas ce qu'il manque !! parc naturek, cascades ( s'il y a de l'eau quoique en ce moment nous sommes gatés !!! tour de koh phan ghan en bateau une journée sympa soit avec papa soit avec 2ric de la jonck ... les hauteurs de samui par la junle et les supers resto de potes français tels que the boudoir, l'orasmique, chez Yann à maenam enfin bref !!!! mon tél au cas où olivier: 0805364322 je travaille dans un resto à fisher man village le lutécia
le mieux c'est de voir sur place quand vous arrivez ... et si ça vous branche je peux vous trouvez un bungalow et une moto à prix sympa lol ok jazzz !! en tout cas je vous souhaite un super voyage khap 😉

Pourqoi pas 3 jours a Chiang Mai ou deux jours Pattaya?
2 jours a Kanchanaburi c'est vraiment le minimum syndical si on veut aller voir les chutes d'Erawan 😉
Ok pour 3 jours a Chiang Mai surtout si on veut faire un "jungle trek" mais 2 jours a Pattaya n'a vraiment rien d'indispensable pour un 1er voyage en couple en Thailande 😛

A trop vouloir en faire, vous risquez de ne rien voir du tout....votre programme me parait trop charge, vous allez perdre enormement de temps dans les transports.
Il faut que vous fassiez des choix et supprimiez quelques etapes...
Comme précèdemment, trop chargé, au mois de novembre pour pouvez deja commencer par supprimer la partie Golfe de Thailande et Samui, c'est pas la bonne période pour y aller.

4/5 jours sur Kanchanaburi ne sont pas de trop si on veut vraiment profiter ce cette belle region et filer jusqu'a Sangklaburi.
Ca va être chaud pour faire CM + Kanchanaburi surtout qu'ils ont prevus 9jours dans le sud.
18 jours c'est trop court pour tout voir mais je comprend que tout le monde ne peut pas partir 3 ou 4 semaines 😕 Mais bon 2 jours a Kancha (le minimum) et une semaine entre CM et CR c'est jouable pour un 1er aperçu. Je ferai un peu moins long dans le sud si j'étais eux en éliminant deja Samui et il ne faut quand pas zapper quelques jours sur Bangkok pour les visites et le shopping 😉 Au moins il n'ont pas prévu d'aller aussi a Sukhothai, Lopburi, Phitsanulok et Ayyuthaya. C'est fort dommage mais ca leur fait gagner quelques jours de plus ailleurs 😏
C'est pas faux même si je trouve dommage de ne passer que 2 jours à Kanchanaburi...La route vers Sangklaburi est vraiment tres sympa.
Un suggestion parmi d'autre, 3/4 jours sur Kan et la region puis 5/6 jours sur CM/CR puis vol direct CM/phuket, 6 jours dans le coin ce qui laisse 3 jours pour faire chauffer la CB à Bangkok 😏

je suis nouveau sur le forum et j'ai vu ton message , je peux t'aider sur un hotel nommé "eden bungalow" à patong beach (ile de phuket).
Tout d'abord, cet hotel est retiré du centre nocturne de patong (environ 10mn à pieds) donc au calme (c'est mieux pour dormir) et est composé de plusieurs petits bungalows implantés dans un jardin exotique et jouxtant une jolie petite piscine !!! Le personnel ainsi que le patron sont charmants, à l'écoute et surtout compétents pour répondre à tes demandes ou à tes interrogations!
C'est vraiment d'un tres bon rapport qualité-prix sur patong car les chambres sont tres propres(quotidiennement nettoyées avec change des draps et des serviettes de bain) avec un grand lit, une grande salle de bain , une clim légèrement bruyante(faut bien unpetit défaut!!!!) un mini bar et une tv disposant de tv5. Le restaurant est bien tenu et ce qu'il ya dans l'assiette correspond au prix demandé ( c'est pas toujours le cas ailleurs!) donc tu peux le tester un soir sans probleme. Pour demarrer la soirée ou siroter une boisson en revenant de la plage, le bar propose des coktails sympatiques et te sert tous les alcools habituels à des prix corrects aussi.
La location de scooter se fait sur place (env.200 baths par jour) ainsi que la reservation de ballades ou spectacles divers et variés. Juste à coté tu as une pharmacie (pas négligeable) avec du personnel compétent et un seven eleven (utile aussi).
Vas voir les prix sur leur site et contacte le boss par mail il te répondra sans problemes, essaie de tenter des réductions de prix.En général, ça marche....
mais si tu est bon négociateur .....!

Pas luxe mais Propre, clim, tv, piscine et calme. Personnel correct.A 2 pas du bts!
Pour bangkok, visites du grand palais, un tour sur les klongs, une ballade sur le chao praya, la maison de jim thomson, khao san road, bayoke tower, lumpini park, patpong night market, chatuchak we market, Mbk center.......!
Sur Bangkok, Pour les restos, vous avez tous les prix (de 3 euros à 20 euros tete).C'est du resto ambulant au resto classique!
Un resto que j'ai bien aimé (é qui colerait avec votre situation, je pense), à faire le soir plutot, c'est LE KINAREE situé sukhumvit soi 8 (env.150m du coté gauche du soi)! Vous aller vous faire plaisir dans un cadre intimiste et surtout bien manger pour 10 à 15 euros tete env.
Sinon vous avez LE CABBAGES and CONDOMS sukhumvit soi 12 : sympa, correct niveau cadre, bouffe et prix , avec surprise cool à l'addition ! A voir un soir....
Voila, pour l'apéro faites un tour obligé au Sky BAR ( au 64eme étage de la STATE TOWER) 1055 silom road(les taxi connaissent) vous serait pas déçus par les cocktails, le cadre et la vue (vous pouvez manger aussi mais c'est pas le meme prix!).
Si tu vas à phuket, rends toi un soir sur patong beach, va manger au restaurant "chez bernard" (front de mer à gauche apres Bangla road) et demande au patron (tu peux pas le louper c'est le sosie d'iggy pop!!) de t'inclure dans la ballade en mer qu'il organise normalement les jeudi et dimanche.
Pour 1500 baths/pers., C'est une ballade ou tu es pris en charge toute la journée (8h30 à 17h30 env.) avec boissons à volonté sur le boat+repas(jte dis pas ou c surprenant!), Van climatisé (a-r)pour le trajet , tu n'es qu'une quinzaine sur le bateau et surtout tu visites des sites qui changent des trajets touristiques classiques!!!!
Si t'aimes les fonds marins, prends ton masque et tuba, ça te serviras!!
Si tu es plus terrestre, fais toi une ballade en éléphant (c'est sympa!).
Voilà, si t'as besoin de plus d'élément j'suis dispo.

1er jour à Bangkok puis
3 jour à Chiang Mai
3 jour à Khanchanaburi
9 jours entre Phuket, Ko Phi Phi et Krabi
et pour finir 2 jours à Bangkok

Je confirme pour Samui nous avons essuyé une tempete et des pluies torrentielles , La nuit passée l'eau et l'electricité ont été coupés vers 23h45 et ca revenait de temps en temps pendant 20/30 mns.
Depuis ce matin 11h nous n'avons par contre plus rien ( ni eau ni jus ni et seul 1 Family et 7 etaient ouverts dans le noir )
La mer est dechainée et l'eau est meme entrée dans Tesco Lamai , ce qui signifie que tout autour tout etait deja bien inondé.
De ce que j'ai pu voir cet apres midi seule la route commercante de Lamai Beach situé un peu en retrait n'a pas souffert ( par contre l'entrée et le pont sont sous l'eau des 2 cotés )
L'electricité est revenue au centre de Lamai vers 20 h mais les orages continuent et on s'attend a encore plus de pluies torrentielles dans la nuit

Pour avoir regarder furtivement les infos Thais, la situation dans certaines provinces du Sud Est est cataclysmique🙁🙁🙁...ca fait froid dans le dos...
Hat Yai est a 80 pourcent sous les eaux, la province de Songkhla a connu des precipitations invraisemblables...il y a plut autant en 48 heures que sur Udon Thani durant tout le mois d'aout (qui a ete de tres tres loin le mois le plus pluvieux de l'annee avec des averses nocturnes comme jamais je n'avais vu par le passe)...c'est tout simplement dementielle 😕... situation critique aussi dans les provinces de Surat Thani (la aussi les donnees enregistrees sur Samui depuis 24 heures sont assez impressionnantes...il ne me semble pas avoir deja releve des chiffres pareils), de N.Si Thammarat, Pattani etc... c' est encore le niveau au dessus compare aux recentes innondations du Centre et du Nord Est...
ce qui est inquietant c'est que nous sommes seulement au debut du mois de Novembre🤪... fort probable que d'autres episodes pluvieux consequents viennent aggraver la situation dans cette partie du pays...
Du cote de Phuket ca tombe aussi mais rien de comparable avec le deluge qui s'est abattu sur la cote opposee(bien qu'il est vraiment plut enormement aussi sur Trang et Satun)... mais si les pluies ne cessent pas je ne serai pas etonne que des problemes d'eboulements y surgissent rapidement...
Pour les voyageurs qui partent incessamment sous peu... commencer votre periple par le Centre, l'issan ou le Nord... il y fait tres beau (et deja assez frais pour la saison) depuis plusieurs jours !!! La mousson de Nord Est tres active va surement alterer les conditions aussi sur la cote ouest pendant encore quelques temps...donc patience...
La destination plage la plus sure au mois de Novembre est l'archipel de Koh Chang... il y aura surement pas mal de vent et une mer assez agite mais le temps y sera theoriquement plus clement... choisir les plages a l'ouest des iles de Koh Chang, koh maak ou koh kood pour pouvoir se baigner...

Tu paie avec ta visa puis tu imprime ton billet.
Pour Kanchanaburi tu as le choix entre le train (3 heures) départ de la gare de Thon Buri de l' autre coté du fleuve Chao praya ou des minibus au départ du royal hôtel.

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.

For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

We’re planning a 15-day trip to Indonesia and would love your thoughts on our itinerary.
We love discovering local culture, food (!!), seeing beautiful landscapes, and keeping an active pace. We’re not the type to lounge on the beach for 5 hours or spend ages by the pool when we’re halfway across the world. Also, we try to avoid places "ruined" by mass tourism (like Holbox in Mexico, which we loved 10 years ago but not at all on our last visit, or Phi Phi in Thailand, completely destroyed by mass tourism).
Special note: we love traveling by train :)
