De plus, avez-vous des conseils pour deux filles dans la vingtaine? Est-ce sécuritaire se promener dans les rues, etc.?
Quels hôtels choisir (nous avons lu de bons commentaire sur le Mirage, Imperial palace et threasure....).
Pour les restos, j'ai lu qu'on pouvait aller manger pas trop cher dans tous les buffets des hôtels? Est-ce vrai? Ça vaut la peine?
Aussi, c'est certain que nous irons voir céline et le cirque du soleil.

Personnellement, nous y sommes allés en avril. Nous étions à Las Végas du 22 au 26 avril 2006. Il a fait très beau et la température était de 25 degrés. C'était très agréable sans être trop chaud. On a pu se balader dans les rues sans problème !
En été, je pense qu'il fait vraiment trop chaud....

Il ne m'a pas semblé que Las Végas était "dangereux". Comme dans toutes les grandes villes, je pense qu'il faut être prudent mais on peut se balader le soir sans problème.... surtout sur le Strip où il y a un monde fou !!
Je ne me suis pas aventuré ailleurs que sur le strip pour ne pas avoir de problème. Je ne connais pas les quartiers "chauds" s'il y en a....
Les boutiques ferment à minuit 30... ensuite, nous allions nous coucher !!

Ca dépend bien sûr du budget que tu veux mettre. Nous avons passé une nuit au Mirage mais on a payé 315 dollars la nuit (nous étions 3 adultes et on avait une chambre avec 2 grands lits).
Il faut surtout voir s'il n'y a pas un séminaire ou autre car les prix, à ce moment là, doublent voire triplent ou pratiquement !!
Je ne connais pas les 2 autres hôtels que tu cites.
A toutes fins utiles, je peux te donner des renseignements sur le Luxor, Aladdin ou Flamingo ou nous avons passé une nuit dans chaque.....

J'ai vu Céline Dion (j'étais au 5° rang !!) et 2 shows du Cirque du soleil : "Mystère" et "O" (le ballet aquatique) ; les 3 spectacles sont absolument superbes; Différents bien sûr mais vraiment grandioses.

Je suis allée au circus-circus mais perso, je ne te le conseil pas pour deux choses: très loin sur le strip et aussi les chambres que nous avons eu cathégorie manoir qui était loin du manoir😠 des petit bungalows dans le fond du stationement ...Pour la sécurité, vraiment je me sentais plus en sécurité là-bas qu'ici à montréal. Il y a de la police en voiture, à vélo et à pied en plus de tous les gardes de sécurités des hôtels qui sont devant les facades.Nous sommes sorties dans les bars jusqu'à 5h du matin la dernière journée. Moi je suis allée voir le spectacle O du cirque du soleil. Las Vegas est une ville vraiment très propre, je n'ai jamais vue un papier sur le sol ou des cigarette sur les trottoires. Pour les buffets, fait un peu le tour car certain sont plus cher que d'autre. et oui tu peux aller dans n'importe quel hôtel pour manger. Lors de mon voyage la température était dans les 40-45 degrés mais comme il n'y a pas d'humidité, ça se tolère bien. Si tu as des questions, n'hésite pas ...

Bonjour Tigrou11, Je vois que tu es allé en aout à Las Vegas. Probablement que je vais aller à Las vegas vers la mi-juillet et je crois que ça devrait ètre chaud, je voudrais savoir si c'est trop chaud pour se promener sur la strip? Moi j'y vais du 4 au 10 novembre avec arrêt à Zion Canyon et le Grand Canyon naturellement. A Vegas nous avons réservé au motel 6 qui est situé tout près de l'aéroport et du Strip (à côté du MGM). Le coût est de 47$ la semaine et 85$ le week end. Il faut que tu t'arranges pour éviter (si possible) de dormir le vendredi et le samedi à Vegas. Ceux qui vont à Vegas entre mai et octobre, il y fait toujours 30 et plus mais c'est plus sec qu'au Québec.

J'y suis allé en septembre et en novembre. C'était plein soleil les 2 fois.
En septembre, le jour, il faisait encore 100 F soit environ 40 C. Sur la rue, il fait trop chaud.
Par contre, les soirées étaient très agréables.
Donc, à Las Vegas, en été, le jour on reste près de la piscine et on se balade en soirée.

Nous y avons marché sans problème. Comme notre hôtel était pratiquement au bout, nous avons parcourue pas mal toute la strip à pied. Il y a beaucoup de monde peu importe de mois de l'année que tu choisiras. De plus pour la strip, comme tu vas surement vouloir visiter les hôtels, tu marches seulement pour te rendre d'un endroit à l'autre et après, tout se fait à l'intérieur.
J'y retournerais sans problème au mois d'août mais pour un peu plus longtemps. Nous étions un peu perdus les 2 premier jours et nous ne sommes restés que 4 jours.😕 5 Jours aurait été parfait mais bon ...

il faisait 42 ° en aout à 11 h 00 du mat !! faut pas craindre la chaleur, ma femme par exemple n'a pas supporté, heureusement tout est climatisé ...sauf la rue 😎
pour les spectacles il vaut mieux les réserver longtemps à l'avance si tu veux etre sure de les voir (surtout ceux là) attention compter minimum 100 $ US par spectacle . c'est mon grand regret de n'avoir pas pu voir le cirque du soleil les 2 spectacles étaient complets ... heureusement je me suis rattrapé ailleurs mais c'est pas pareil 😉

Tu dis avoir passé une nuit à Las vegas à L'hôtel LOUXOR, justement j'y serais cet été pour 2 nuits, que peut-tu me dire de cet hôtel ?

Le LUXOR est un des grands (4400 chambres ) casinos de Vegas, décor ultra kitsch et carton pâte ! Les chambres situées dans la pyramide sont desservies par un ascenseur qui suit la pente..., et depuis la porte un balcon surplombe le hall et casino au RdC, sinon deux autres tours pour les autres chambres.
Oui les chambres sont grandes, ainsi que les SdB !!
Oui il y a un buffet dément pour TOUS les repas... ne pas hésiter à venir de bonne heure car on fait la queue !
Le Luxor et ses deux voisins (Excalibur et Mandalay) sont desservis par un monorail gratuit le long du sud du Strip.

Ben oui, et je me suis mis au régime (déjà -4kg en trois semaines) car Maurice arrive et je voudrais pouvoir en profiter un peu. Pour Vegas, moi je vais au RIO ou au Golden Nugget, les plus fabuleux que j'ai vu là bas. Le petit dej du Paris, certainement un des plus gourmets les autres ne m'ont pas laissés de grands souvenirs, notamment au Caesar et au Flamingo.
Et puis il n'y a pas de mal à se faire plaisir en vacances, n'est ce pas, 😎

Le moins cher que j'ai trouvé - et malgré cela pas mal du tout - est ce "machin" qui de l'extérieur ressemble à une gare... qu'il ne fut jamais ! et de l'intérieur fait un peu "art déco" avec verrière et ferraille, et ça se trouve à côté de Fremont St au nord du Stratosphere. Impossible de me rappeler le nom -tu verras à mon âge 😊
Et pis, n'en déplaise à Fabienne... c'est une adresse du R...😛😛😛😛😛😛😏

Je pense que mes petits camarades t'on répondu à ce sujet ; je confirme que les chambres sont magnifiques et spacieuses. La piscine est superbe et les décors à l'intérieur et extérieur de l'hôtel sont très beaux !! C'est un très bon choix d'hôtel....
Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une chambre dans la pyramide ; l'ascenseur est un peu impressionnant car il suit la pente de la pyramide 😛
Il est un peu excentré par rapport au "centre" du strip et il faut pas mal marcher pour y arriver..... mais il est aussi à coté des hôtels Mandalay Bay, Excalibur et MGM que tu peux facilement visiter.
Je te mets le lien de quelques unes de mes photos au Luxor (40 quand même 🤪), ça devrait te donner une bonne idée déjà...
en tout cas, je t'envies bien, nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable dans cette ville magique !
N'oublies pas d'aller voir l'emblème de végas qui se trouve après le Mandalay Bay, en sortant de la ville, pas très loin, ça peut se faire à pied ! 😉😉😉😉😉

J'ai adoré l'hôtel Aladdin ; les chambres sont très belles, la moquette dans les couloirs donnant aux chambres très très belle. Les chambres sont luxueuses et spacieuses.
La salle de bain est la plus belle que j'ai vu dans les 4 hôtels que nous avons fait à Végas (à mon goût bien sûr). La robinetterie est couleur argent en forme de lampe d'Aladdin (forcément !!) il y a une baignoire ET une douche indépendante avec une belle porte vitrée et les toilettes sont séparées.
Je ne sais pas s'il y a une piscine intérieure, mais à mon avis non.
Il y a une belle piscine extérieure aménagée dans le style d'Aladdin, j'ai beaucoup aimé !
J'ai trouvé une chose super original dans cet hôtel : au niveau où il y a les boutiques, il y a un petit "lac" et au dessus il y a un orage.. je ne sais pas bien expliqué ça. Lorsque nous sommes passé à coté, le ciel à changé et il s'est mis à tonner et à pleuvoir sans qu'on ne recoive une seule goutte d'eau, tout tombait dans l'espèce de petit lac !!
Le seul inconvénient à l'époque où nous y étions (fin avril 2006) et ça a gaché un peu le plaisir et la beauté de cet hôtel, tout l'extérieur était en train d'être refait et il y avait des échaffaudages de partout, un peu caché par des panneaux publicitaires mais bon 😛😛 Depuis, je suppose que c'est terminé, tu n'auras probablement pas ce problème !

Je pars le 26 février pour 5 jours, j'ai bien hâte. Merci pour tes conseils peux-tu me dire de bons restaurants buffets, car nous avons un petit problème nous ne parlons pas trop l'anglais alors pour les restaurants nous chercherons où ce n'est pas trop compliqué. L'habillement est-ce chic ou sport dans les casinos?

Tu vas pas mal marcher ; les distances entre les hôtels sont immenses, les hôtels sont immenses aussi et le strip est d'une longueur..... 😛😛😛😛😛 crois moi quelque soit les chaussures que tu mettras, même si ce sont des pantoufles, tu auras forcément mal aux pieds !!!!!!!!!!
Et encore, le Aladdin est assez centré par rapport au strip.
Alors ce que je peux te conseiller c'est jean / baskets pour être le plus à l'aise possible. Dans les hôtels et les casinos, tu vois plutôt des gens qui sont à l'aise dans leurs habits.
En fait tu vois un peu de tout : des gens à l'aise, des gens bien habillées, des gens en robe de mariée et smoking (car apparemment, les gens qui se marient gardent leurs habits de mariés et c'est génial ; au début, ça fait bizarre et ensuite on prend l'habitude et c'est assez joli à voir, c'est ça Las Végas !!!!!!!!!!!), des filles avec des robes de soirée et escarpins et d'autres en short et tee shirt, tout est mélangé !!!!!
Pour le soir, tu peux faire des effets de toilettes et te mettre un joli pantalon ou une robe surtout si tu as prévu d'aller à un spectacle.... mais tu peux aussi y aller en étant habillé décontracté.
Pour les restaurants, je ne peux pas te renseigner car nous n'avons mangé qu'au Mac Do ou sur le pouce...
Par contre, tu peux lire des post sur ce site, j'en ai vu pleins qui parlaient de ce sujet (qualité, prix...).
Pour l'anglais, c'est vrai que ça peut être un problème car il n'y a pas beaucoup de gens qui parlent français, mais sache qu'une seule chose compte à Végas : c'est TA CARTE BLEUE ; elle parle tous les languages... ne t'inquiète pas, entre les 4 mots que tu dois connaitre, un peu avec les mains et beaucoup avec la carte bleue, tu verras, tout le monde aura les yeux qui brillent 😉😉😉😉😉😉

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.

There are several attractions along the way:

- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
