Voila voila, je suis bien décidée à partir en janvier prochain pour quelques mois en Angleterre ! A force de recherches, je suis tombée sur la ville de Leeds qui me semble juste parfaite !
J'ai 21 ans et je souhaite améliorer mon anglais qui est standard . De plus je souhaite me trouver un emploi dans l’hôtellerie restauration sur place ..
Je ne sais pas vraiment par ou commencer dans mon organisation, que ce soit le logement à mon arrivée et par la suite car apparemment il n'y a pas d'auberges de jeunesse à Leeds !
Donc si vous avez fait comme moi et que vous avez atterris dans cette ville, je suis preneuse de tout vos conseils !
Ensuite, le plus important c'est de trouver rapidement un logement (pour ça Gumtree est pas mal le plus efficace) et de faire les démarches administratives une fois que tu as une adresse pour t'inscrire au NHS et obtenir un National insurance number pour pouvoir travailler (il sera demandé par l'employeur donc il faut s'en occuper rapidement). Avoir un numéro de téléphone local pour être joignable par de potentiels employeurs.
Pour trouver un emploi, il y a plein de sites faciles à trouver sur google, et en faisant du porte à porte avec son CV aussi. Attention de bien avoir un CV à l'anglaise (chaque pays à des exigences pour les CV et lettres de motivation, là encore google est ton ami). Évidemment bien faire relire CV et lettre pour être sur que l'anglais est impeccable.
Question de simple curiosité: pourquoi Leeds? Et pourquoi janvier? Pour trouver du boulot dans le tourisme ça serait peut être plus facile d'arriver juste avant la saison haute non? Si c'est pour ne rester que quelques mois, tu peux déjà envoyer des CV avant d'être sur place, il doit y avait pas mal d'endroits qui recrutent temporairement pour la haute saison. Combien de temps tu veux rester? Car partir un ou deux mois en mode job d'été ou partir s'installer plus longtemps c'est très différent, y compris pour les démarches.

Non je ne connais pas Leeds, si ce n'est que comme la plupart des villes du nord de l'Angleterre c'est réputé pour l'accent bien marqué des habitants 😛
Je prêche pour ma paroisse mais Edimbourg peut être une bonne option aussi, très touristique (donc beaucoup de français donc la maîtrise du français est un gros atout), et il y a un gros festival pour Noël - Nouvel an qui attire beaucoup de monde et pas mal de bars / resto recrutent à cette saison. Sans parler de l'été avec ses festivals qui attirent des milliers de visiteurs et là aussi il y a de quoi travailler dans le secteur touristique. Après je ne peux pas du tout comparer à Leeds en terme de vie sur place.

Oui, Edimbourg était un de mes choix ! Mais l'accent la bas n'est pas trop compliqué? Et j'ai entendu dire que en Ecosse, la, vie nocturne n'était pas très présente après c'est une grosse ville donc ça doit être comme partout, non ?
Ça dépend toujours de ce qu'on appelle la vie nocturne, mais Edimbourg est loin d'être une ville morte! Il y a des festivals toute l'année quasiment, plein de pubs, une super ambiance, et beaucoup d'étudiants. Edimbourg ne représente pas l, ensemble de l'Écosse. C'est sur que les petits villages dans le nord, la vie nocturne doit être pas mal plus calme!
Pour l'accent ça va sans problème, c'est une ville très cosmopolite et on y trouve beaucoup d'anglais qui y vivent. Il y a toujours des personnes avec un gros accent mais ça reste très facile à comprendre par rapport au reste de l'Écosse. L'intérêt d'Edimbourg pour toi c'est son intérêt touristique, c'est la deuxième ville la plus visitée du UK, derrière Londres, avec une forte clientèle internationale donc un intérêt pour les resto, hôtels etc d'avoir du personnel étranger également. Leeds est plus visitée par les britanniques que par les étrangers.
Après je ne connais absolument pas Leeds, donc je ne peux comparer les deux. Le fait est qu'elles ne sont pas super éloignées. Tu peux arriver à Leeds et venir passer un week end à Edimbourg rapidement après ton arrivée au UK pour voir si il y a une des deux villes qui t'inspire plus.
Quoi qu'il arrive prépare de l'argent de côté avant ton arrivée (au moins l'équivalent de deux mois de loyer + de quoi manger pour 2 mois)

800 euros c'est pas énorme, il va falloir vraiment bien préparer en amont ou alors soit prête à prendre le premier petit boulot que tu trouves. Pour le logement prends une collocation pour avoir juste une chambre pas trop chère, car sinon on va te demande de payer un mois de caution plus le premier mois, donc tes 800 euros vont être juste, surtout au début où tu as tous les frais d'installation. Sans garantie de boulot, il faut absolument que tu trouves à louer par un particulier sinon les agences vont te demander de payer les 6 mois d'un coup.

en colloc et sans chercher un boulot parfait, ça devrait aller. Tu peux toujours venir sur Edimbourg pour les fêtes (recrutement massif car le festival attire beaucoup de monde) et partir sur Leeds juste après.

Pour une ville grande et qui bouge, il y a Birmingham, que je connais bien. Pour le charme, c'est bof par contre.
Dans le même genre, on m'a dit que Manchester était pas mal également, mais je ne connais pas...
«Beaucoup» c'est beaucoup dire, je ne pense pas qu'ils représentent une concurrence si rude. Pour Noël/jour de l'an et pour l'été, à peu de choses prêt, tout le monde dans le secteur touristique recrute du personnel en extra, donc c'est certain que c'est facile de trouver au moins à ces périodes.
