je suis étudiante en 4e année et j'ai trouvé un stage de 4 mois à San Francisco que j'ai à effectuer dans le cadre de mes études. J'avoue être un peu stressée par les démarches administratives à effectuer afin d'obtenir le Visa J qui semble me concerner et je vois que le formulaire DS 2019 ou I-20 est évoqué sur le site de l'ambassade. Il faudrait apparemment passer par un organisme pour l'obtenir sans quoi le visa me serait refusé. Je ne sais déjà tout simplement pas si je suis concernée par ce formulaire ou non car, comme il est inscrit sur le site internet de l'ambassade, "L’incription préalable dans un établissement d’enseignement ou à un programme d'échange aux Etats-Unis est nécessaire avant l’obtention du visa. Pour attester de votre inscription, vous devrez disposer du formulaire DS 2019 ou I-20 délivré par l'organisme d’échange ou l’établissement compétent. ". Le fait est que je ne pars pas aux Etats-Unis pour y suivre des études ni avec un programme d'échange mais pour y effectuer un stage. J'aimerais donc savoir si je suis concernée par ce formulaire malgré tout, et si oui, comment je peux faire pour l'obtenir et combien de temps cela prend ?
Par ailleurs, l'ambassade me demande d'attester de mes fonds personnels en leur fournissant au moins trois relevés bancaires, qu'entendent-ils par trois relevés bancaires ? est-ce qu'ils veulent les relevés de compte détaillés qu'on reçoit chaque mois par la banque ou est-ce qu'une simple attestation des fonds dont nous disposons délivrés par la banque suffit ?

Je sais que pour faire un stage (travailler dans ton domaine d'étude) tu as besoin du visa J-1. Je sais que pour les Canadiens, il n'est pas nécessaire d'être inscrits dans un établissement scolaire mais il faut que l'emploi soit en lien avec des études ou une expérience de travail récente.
Effectivement, il faut passer par l'organisme de ton pays qui sert d'intermédaire.
Je n'ai pas d'info spécifiques aux Français...peut-être que tu trouveras sur le site de l'ambassade US en France?

Salut je suis parti comme toi en stage de fin d'etudes il y a qq années et effectivemment il te faut un J1 donc un DS2029 ou I-20 (je crois que c'est le meme qui a changé de nom 😉).
Et pour obtenir tout ça il faut effectivemment passé par un organisme spécialisé car ils sont les seuls agréés par l'état américain pour délivré ce genre de papier. Que tu veuilles faire un échange, des études ou un stage, c'est le même combat.
Evidemment ces organismes te font payer leurs services mais bon il n'y a pas vraiment le choix 😕

Je ne voudrais pas te dire de betises, mais je pense que la quasi totalité des papiers que te demande Parenthèse sont en fait demandés par le consulta des USA!
C'est vrai qu'il y a beaucoup de papiers, mais dans mes souvenirs, tous m'ont été demandés lors de mon entretien au consulat.
Pou ce qui est des lettres de recommandation, je n'en ai pas fourni et je n'ai pas eu de problème. Il suffit de dire que tu n'en as pas!
C'est sur qu'on est jamais certains d'avoir le visa, mais si tu effectues ton stage dans le cadre de tes études (ce qui montre que tu vas rentrer en France après) et que le stage est rémunéré (ce qui montre que tu pourras survenir à tes besoins) alors il ne devrait pas y avoir de problème...
