Je suis en train de préparer mes vacances de mars et la jordanie me tente pas mal, mais je m'interroge sur d'éventuelles tensions qui pourraient exister dans ce pays en ce moment (notamment en raison de la publication des caricatures). Est-il risqué d'entreprendre en ce moment un voyage entre amman, petra, aqaba et le désert du wadi rum (avec 4-5 jours dans le désert) ?

Par ailleurs, quelles sont vos expériences sur la météo au mois de mars ? j'imagine qu'il ne doit pas faire trop chaud, en revanche, s'il pleut, c'est moins sympa ...

deja 9 mois de voyage et il faut commencer a penser au retour... et comme j'en veux encore je me pose la question d'un retour par la route pakistan, iran, turkie... est ce que des personnes aurait fait cette route recemment ? quel itineraire choisir ? sachant que j'ai a peu pres 1 mois, 1 mois 1/2 (je sais ca va etre speed. et surtout est ce que les conditions climatiques permettent cette route en fevrier ??

Salut à tous 😉, Ayant le projet de visiter la Jordanie soit l 'année prochaine ou l 'année d ' après, je souhaiterais savoir si c 'est possible de se baigner facilement en mer rouge à Aquabba dans des endroits relativement calme loin des masses touristiques et si du coup on peut faire du snorkeling comme en Egypte ? Y a t -il des endroits autres que Aquabba ? Faut -il obligatoirement prendre le bateau ? Merci de m ' aiguiller 😉

Savez-vous s'il est possible de passer du Yemen à oman par la route ? De meme est-il possible d'arriver au Yemen par la mer (depuis l'egypte ou djibouti ou la somalie ....) ?

je compte partir debut juillet de bordeaux avec 2 amis, dt 1 libanais (pour 1 mois et demi) au liban en voiture. J'ai du mal a me faire une idée sur le budget essence a prévoir, surtt que je pars en fiat uno!si qqu'un l'a fait combien avez vs payé? sinon, serait il possible d'avoir qques prix ?(croatie, grece, syrie, liban). Par ailleurs, quel est le délai d'obtention d'un carnet de passage en douane et son prix? quant aux visas, j'imagine qu'il en faut un multi-entrées pour la syrie au retour?

Nous avons l'occasion de demander à un voisin de nous ramener des jeux vidéos type gameboy car il va à Dubaï. Est-ce que quelqu'un du forum pourrait me confirmer que ce sera moins cher qu'en France ? J'ai entendu dire que c'était vraiment un duty free intéressant mais je ne voudrais pas faire perdre du temps et des coups de tél pour rien si les prix sont quasiment ceux de la France...

Since I had trouble finding up-to-date info, here’s an update on some key points for Jordan/Egypt ferries as of August 2025.

Right now, AB Maritime is the only company still operating ferries. Other companies sometimes mentioned (Jordan Sinaï Hotel and Tour, Sinaï Ferry, etc.) have stopped running (no response by phone or email, and confirmed on-site).

On the Jordanian side, the fast ferry doesn’t leave from the port of Aqaba but from Tala Bay (20 km further south). There’s supposedly a slow ferry that departs in the evening from Aqaba port (according to a taxi driver), but I couldn’t find any info about it.

Currently, there’s one ferry per day in each direction for Aqaba/Taba and another for Aqaba/Nuweiba. But the schedules aren’t great for backpackers—and they’re not the same every day.

On the Jordanian side at Tala Bay, you access the port by walking through a large resort, go through border control before boarding the ferry (+ luggage check). You have to pay the exit tax of 10 JOD (12 €) to "someone sitting on a bench in front"!!! It’s true—you need to ask who to pay, or customs won’t let you through without the magic coupon. Oddly, I arrived early and managed to take a different ferry than the one I’d booked online by insisting (it wasn’t open for online reservations). I bought the ticket on the AB Maritime website. Confirmation by email was brief. Then you have to find another person outside the port who has the passenger list and will give you the actual ticket. (What a joy this organization is!) Luckily, everyone’s really friendly with tourists.

On the Egyptian side, arrival in Taba isn’t in Taba itself but at Taba Heights (20 km further south), in a hotel zone. Immigration can be more or less quick depending on your place in the queue at the single office... (free Sinai visa or paid Egypt visa). And outside... nothing. Nothing: no exchange bureau, no ATM, no drink or SIM vendor... A nightmare. No bus station. One or two taxis at prohibitive prices. Personally, I walked about fifteen minutes to the Strand Hotel to find someone who could actually help me (ATM out of service in that big resort). From there, two bus companies currently operate: Webus in small vans but you have to book at least 2 days in advance (frequent, fast, reasonable prices) or GoBus with large buses (only one per day, even cheaper). They head south to Nuweiba, Sharm El Sheikh, etc. A taxi from Taba to Sharm was quoted at 120 USD at the port exit!

For me, the ferry and GoBus schedules didn’t align at all. If I’d known about Webus earlier, I could’ve saved 6 hours of waiting...

On another note, a Taiwanese traveler I met also mentioned that the Hurghada-Sharm El Sheikh ferry is no longer running.

Basically, these border crossings and ferries are more suited to organized tours than backpackers, but it’s still doable.

Hi! If anyone has been to Georgia recently and could tell me if it's feasible to travel around the country using public transport. My itinerary would be Kutaisi (my arrival airport), Tbilisi, Mestia, Ushguli, Batumi, and back to Kutaisi (departure airport) in ten days. My flight arrives late at night, around 1 AM—would it be possible to take a taxi to get to the city center?

Hi everyone! I’m giving this a shot, hoping to get some answers that can help clear things up. We’re planning a trip to Oman in February and want to rent a car. The catch is we probably won’t have received our international driving permits in time. After some research, we still can’t figure out if there are any rental companies that only require a French license... or possibly a certified translation of it. Vu la situation en mer Egée entre la Turquie et la Gréce, avec la France qui soutien la Gréce, je pense qu'il est préférable de se rendre en Arménie, Iran par le ferry Varna -Poti en Georgie. Je n'arrive pas à contacter Navibul , ni l'ambassade de Bulgarie à Paris.... Savez vous si cette compagnie existe toujours ? Avez vous des coordonnées pour la joindre. D'avance Merci pour votre aide

Tout est dans le titre, la France en fait partie bien sur. Il faut prouvé que vous avez une résidence en Israël ou que vous pouvez être mis dans un logement 14 jours confiné dès votre arrivée à l'aéroport. Refoulement à l'aéroport de départ si pas ses preuves.

Je souhaiterais vivement visiter la Jordanie. Tout m'attire, les sites à visiter, les paysages ... Mon mari est assez sceptique quant à cette destination : insécurité....

Je pensais passer par la frontière Israël / Jordanie au niveau de Beit She'An au nord du pays.

Est-ce que quelqu'un a déjà fait le trajet? :)
