Voila ma situation. J'avais peut etre prevu de partir 2 semaines dans la zone espagne, portugal et maroc mai j'ai entendu des bruits disant que le train en espagne était très galère (reservations, bcp de monde...). Est-ce que c'est vrai et est ce que c'est si 'horrible" que ça?. Autrement, quels zones sont sympas pour deux semaines d'été??. J'avais penser peut etre a la grece et italie et turquie mais je n'ai pa beaucoup de renseignements. Merci de votre aide 😉

Je suis nouveau sur le forum ! Avec mon frère, on aimerait aller en Norvège à vélo (départ Paris, durée 1 mois, prévision 140km/jour); nous avions pensé au cap nord, mais certaines personnes nous ont dit qu'il n'en valait pas la peine (contrairement aux îles Lofoten)...
Par quels endroits faut-il que nous passions ? Faut-il mieux passer Danemark-Suède (lacs) puis rejoindre la norvège, ou directement Danemark-Norvège ? Enfin, le cap nord en vaut-il la peine ?

Vietnam or New Zealand for a woman traveling solo?
Hello everyone!
I REALLY need some advice because I’m feeling lost with my choices for my next solo trip—I’d like to book within the month .
Just so you know, my trip will be in September 2025 for about 17 days.
My top pick is Vietnam; I’ve never been to Asia.
I know the rainy season will be in full swing in September, but several reviews seemed to say it’s not necessarily a dealbreaker, even though it might affect a few hours each day.
PS: I was considering Cambodia, but apparently, the situation isn’t safe for a woman or a tourist right now.
I’ve also heard a lot about New Zealand, but I don’t know anyone who’s been there—especially solo. The nature looks amazing, but does 100% nature get boring quickly when you’re alone? Are there meet-up spots or restaurants/cafés in all the must-see places?
To give you some background, I’ve traveled solo before: Seville, Sweden (Stockholm and Lapland), and I spent 6 months exploring Marseille on my own. I love discovering places and cultures by myself.
Fun fact: my favorite trip was South Africa—for the change of scenery, the people I met, the landscapes, and the nature—but I wasn’t solo there.
Do you have any firsthand experience with these two destinations for a solo trip as a woman?
Or do you have other ideas that fit a similar budget and are interesting for 15–17 days, with a real sense of adventure? And, of course, safe and not too stressful for a woman!
(I’d also love to hear about any custom travel agencies you’ve had good experiences with—I really want to plan this trip as best as I can, but all the agencies I’ve found have mixed reviews.)

Don’t they say "never two without three"? It seems so. Here I am again on the forum to share—and let’s be honest, indulge a bit of selfish pleasure—by recounting the story of this third installment in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Where? It’s all in the title. On the island of Kyushu in southern Japan, more precisely in the northwest between Fukuoka and Nagasaki. I hope to take you along with me for 19 nights and 18 full days this autumn of 2024. On the itinerary: gastronomy, crafts, festivals, waterfalls, encounters, and leisurely strolls in all simplicity.
A last-minute flight booked just 7 days before departure, and the route evolved regularly based on whims and accommodation availability, eventually settling on this:
- 5 nights in Fukuoka: Fukuoka city, Ukiha, Itoshima, Dazaifu, Yanagawa - 4 nights in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture: Okawachiyama, Arita, Takeo, Kashima, Yobuko, Karatsu, Kabeshima - 6 nights in Nagasaki: Ureshino, Higashi-Sonogi, Nagasaki city, Unzen, Sotome - 4 nights in Fukuoka: Karatsu, Fukuoka city

I’ll admit I’m feeling a bit of that itch too, but I’m way too lazy to dive into the story of our latest trip—last summer in the northwest USA. I’ll probably get to it later, but it might take a while! So, I’m jumping into the short recap of our *way* too short trip to Iceland at the end of April 2024. And even though it’s not the done thing, I’m going to spoil it and start with the conclusion: it was *amazing*!!!
Back in February, on the eve of leaving for a few days’ holiday in Alsace, we started wondering what we could do for Easter break. Scotland and Iceland were the top contenders. The boys are growing up, but they still travel with us often, and they tipped the scales in favor of Iceland. Since we decided a bit late, before booking the flights, I took a quick look at available accommodations. There wasn’t much left, and some were at crazy prices, but I managed to line up a decent itinerary with places that seemed like good value for money. I read travel journals on VF and blogs I could find, picked up bits of info from Facebook groups, and the route quickly took shape—even if I struggled with the place names, mixing them up and forgetting them. The dream could begin...
Bookings
Flight tickets bought directly from Fly Play’s website: 1520 € for the four of us (adult fare), with just two checked bags and one carry-on each. It was the compromise we found to keep costs down while still fitting all the bulky clothes we’d need. Late April isn’t quite winter anymore, but it’s not quite spring either, so we packed for chilly weather. Fly Play is Icelandair’s low-cost airline. No complaints: check-in was quick, service was efficient, and the flights were on time.
The car. Booked with Golden Circle car rental, a small family-run business with offices just 5 minutes from the airport. I’d read good things about them, and I can confirm everything went smoothly with our Dacia Duster—it wasn’t brand new, but it was reliable and spacious. We paid 463 € for the week, with full insurance included. The manager picked us up at the airport 10 minutes after I messaged him on WhatsApp to say we’d arrived. For the return trip, since our flight was super early and the agency wasn’t open yet, we agreed to leave the car in the airport parking lot and sent him a photo of the spot so he could find it. Super convenient! I read *so* many questions on Facebook groups about insurance: *Should I get the max coverage or not? I’ve got a Visa Premier, I’ve never had an accident, it adds 100 €...* Between sandstorms that can damage the bodywork and skidding off the road due to bad weather (we saw a few cars in ditches!), we decided to go for the rental company’s max insurance to be safe. It was also a requirement for leaving the car in the airport parking lot on our way back, since we couldn’t do the final inspection.
Accommodations were all booked on Booking.com and Hotels.com: - 2 nights in a cottage at Fossatun Country Hotel, near Borgarnes (we rented the sunset cottage—great spot, with a nice view and separate from the other lodgings) - 1 night in an apartment at Bakki Hostel and Apartments, in Eyrarbakki (top-notch) - 1 night in a gorgeous (and pricey!) apartment at Vik Apartments - 2 nights in a family room at Adventure Hof Hotel (perfect location) - 1 night at Blue Viking Studio near the airport (meh, but fine for a few hours’ sleep before an early flight) Total: 1234 €, averaging 176 € per night for 4-person accommodations.
The itinerary Day 1: Arrival around noon at the airport - Hraunfossar / Night at Fossatun Country Hotel Day 2: Snæfellsnes Peninsula / Night at Fossatun Country Hotel Day 3: Bruarfoss - Geysir - Gullfoss - Reykjadalur hot springs / Night in Eyrarbakki Day 4: Seljalandsfoss and Gljúfrafoss - DC-3 wreck (the one near Seljalandsfoss) - Skógafoss - Kvernufoss - Sólheimajökull (hike to the foot of the glacier) - Dyrhólaey - Reynisfjara Beach / Night in Vík Day 5: Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon - Vatnajökull (3-hour hike to Svartifoss and Skaftafell) / Night in Hof Day 6: Múlagljúfur Canyon (2h45 hike) - Fjallsárlón - Jökulsárlón and Diamond Beach - Svínafellsjökull / Night in Hof Day 7: Drive back - Reykjavik - Sky Lagoon / Night in Keflavík Day 8: Flight back at 6 AM

Hurtigruten Coastal Express from Trondheim to Stamsund
Hi there,
I’m planning our next (pricey) trip to Norway. It’ll be a road trip with accommodations either in Airbnbs or hotels.
I’ve been dreaming of going to the LOFOTEN for ages, but I don’t want to skip the big fjords either (Geiranger, Flam, Bergen, Stavanger). So to combine both, I thought of doing a round trip from Trondheim to Stamsund with Hurtigruten and spending 4 nights in the southern LOFOTEN. The fares are so steep that I don’t think I can do more.
The coastal road is certainly beautiful up to BODØ, but with the stops to plan, it ends up costing as much as taking the boat—plus the fatigue and extra kilometers.
Has anyone taken the Coastal Express with their vehicle from TRONDHEIM to STAMSUND?

Top randos-bivouacs 7-10 jours en France ou en Europe
Bonjour à tous.
Tous les étés on part avec la famille dans des zones isolées du monde pour randonner et faire de magnifiques bivouacs solitaires mais cette année, changement de programme Covid oblige.
Je cherche donc un plan B en Europe (accessible, la Norvège semble encore inaccessible) ou en France. Je connais un peu les Alpes et les Pyrénées en automne mais pas du tout en été (surtout concernant la fréquentation).
C'est la que je sollicite votre expérience.
Je cherche 2-3 randos d'une durée assez longue (de 5 à 20 jours) ou nous pourrions faire des bivouacs isolés dans de magnifiques paysages sans être sur des autoroutes de rando. Plus c'est isolé, mieux c'est. On peut gérer une bonne semaine d'autonomie de nourriture avec nous.
J'avais pensé à la fausse haute route de Zermatt Arolla (?) GR 20 (trop de monde). Tour du mont Blanc (trop de monde)
Si vous connaissez des randos avec supers panoramas, pas trop touristiques en France ou en Europe, je suis preneur.

Road trip seule en van pendant un mois en Norvège
Bonjour à tous! Il y a bien longtemps maintenant que je ne suis plus venue ici… mais certains d'entre vous m'ont aidé plusieurs fois à préparer des voyages.
Le thème du jour pour moi : un road trip en septembre avec mon van, toute seule. Alors voilà, la Norvège me tente beaucoup, je partirai de Suisse et je remonterais tranquillement jusqu'à la Norvège, certains d'entre vous ont-ils déjà fait ca sur un mois? Pour conduire seule tous les jours ce n'est pas trop pénible? Je pense aussi aux randos la bas, safe à faire toute seule? Je suis plutôt bonne randonneuse mais j'ai presque toujours voyagé au moins à deux alors il y a un petit facteur stress pour moi à voyage seule cette fois.
Et à part la Norvège, des idées de destinations pour un mois en van? Plutôt nature, montagne, lac...

Islande et îles Féroé en van, petit récit et aspects pratiques
De retour d'un voyage en Islande et escale aux îles Féroé, voici un carnet avec surtout des indications pratiques.
Nous sommes partis pratiquement 7 semaines, dont 5 semaines en Islande, du 8 juin au 24 juillet.
Le circuit que nous avons fait en 5 semaines peut se faire en nettement moins de temps, nous n'avions pas envie de courir, voulions avoir de la marge en cas de pépin mécanique, pour ne pas risquer de rater le ferry de retour, et surtout avoir du temps pour s'adapter à la météo le cas échéant.
J'avais préparé un itinéraire, que nous avons en partie modifié en fonction principalement de la météo, afin de profiter des excursions au Landmannalaugar et à Throsmörk dans les meilleures conditions.
Voici donc le programme, assez succinctement ( mais si besoin de détails, ce sera volontiers), puis je reviendrai sur tous les détails pratiques. Je donnerai tous les prix en monnaie locale en général, à chacun de convertir selon le cours du jour.
J 1-2-3 . Trajet de Genève jusqu'à Hirtshals 2 nuits en Allemagne, et une près du port.
J 3 et 4 en mer. Brève escale à Torshavn,
nous descendrons au retour
J 5 arrivée en Islande à 10h30 du matin, échange de la bouteille de gaz, change à la banque, courses à Egilsstadir, et route jusqu'à Modrudalur.

Quelle application route autorisée en Suisse?
J’ai pu lire que tout gps, —-, était interdit en suisse. Comme j’ai un Coyotte, c’est aussi râpé. Il paraît que des applications sur iPhone, smartphone sont aussi interdites en suisse . Les radars, —-, m’importent peu. Je souhaite juste me diriger sur la route, trouver mon chemin, —.
Pour les français qui vont là bas, quelle application autorisée utilisez-vous et qui soit bien sûr autorisée sans problème ?

C'est la 1ere fois que nous voulons partir aux Philippines mais nous ne connaissons pas du tout. Ayant fais la Thaïlande par 2 fois nous connaissons un peu la culture asiatique.

C'est la 1ere fois que nous voulons partir aux Philippines mais nous ne connaissons pas du tout. Ayant fais la Thaïlande par 2 fois nous connaissons un peu la culture asiatique.
Pour ceux qui ont fait les Philippines que nous conseillerez vous pour un premier voyage ? Trajet ? Hôtel ? Visites ?
C'est histoire de dégrossir un peu.
Et côté budget est ce le même que budget pour la Thaïlande ?

Je prépare un séjour en Norvège, en fourgon aménagé, pour la période juin-juillet, je cherche un site me permettant de faire des choix parmi les nombreuses options de route :
Existe-t-il un site sur lequel il est possible de connaître les fréquences et les tarifs des ferrys ?
