Je suis en train de preparer mon prochain voyage pour l'ile de Pâques (Fin Novembre debut Decembre) et je suis a la recherche (desesperee !!) d'un bon guide, hormis le Hachette et la Manufacture, (en francais, anglais, ou allemand qu'importe) qui pourrait me donner de bonnes infos pour un sejour d'environ une semaine. Pour L'instant je me focuse sur des guides ne traitant que de l'ile de Paques mais je dois avouer que le choix est tres restreint.Des conseils ? des bons plans ?

Est ce qu'il est preferable de prendre une pension a Hanga Roa et de partir en etoile pour les visites ou bien ne vaut il pas mieux prendre des pensions le long de l'ile ... Je suis sure que parmi tous les grands voyageurs de ce forum, il y en a surement qui ont de bon conseils, alors ... je vous suis toute ouie !! Merci ! 🙂

Je reviens de l'Amérique Central et je suis tombée en amour avec ce continent et j'ai maintenant le goût de découvrir l'Amérique du Sud. Je voulais y aller l'été prochain en 2005, est-ce une bonne saison ou est-ce la saision des pluies?? De plus je disposerai de 3 mois probablement et je ne sais pas quel pays vaut le plus la peine. Je veux aller au Brésil et au Pérou pour sûr! D'ailleurs je ne sais pas si quelqu'un pourrait m'aider à ce sujet, mais j'ai entendu dire que les Machus Pichus seraient désormais fermés aux touristes à compté de 2006?? Ensuite j'ai le goût de plages d'eau turquoise, de trek en jungle et de découvrir des cultures étonanntes!! Bref voici un peu mon profil voyage alors...merci a tous!

ce n'est pour l'instant qu'un embryon de projet mais c'est toujours par là que ca commence de toute façon. Alors voilà, nous envisageons avec ma femme et mes deux garçons, un voyage à travers les amériques depuis le canada jusqu'en Argentine.. Bref à la découverte des deux amérique. Après avoir visiter plusieurs sites de bourlingueurs, il nous a semblé qu'en famille l'option camping-car était plutôt la meilleure. Mais commençons par le début, comment acheter un van (classe B) au canada. Est-ce facile, pour quel prix, voire même à quelles adresses ? Nous sommes friant de toute info. Quelqu'un a-t-il déjà tenté ce périple ?

je pars faire un tour du monde à partir du mois d'Octobre 2004, et je serais en Amérique du sud à partir de janvier-février. Pour l'instant j'ai prévu dans mon itinéraire de faire le Chili puis l'Argentine et enfin le Brésil. Ce choix vous paraît il judicieux ? Si non quel itinéraire faire ? Je pensais faire du Chili en Argentine par le bus en partant vers le sud du chili et en remontant l'argentine pour prendre l'avion ensuite de Bueono Aires jusqu'à Sao paulo.

Tous vos conseils sont les bienvenus.

Je suis tout l"été en vacances et désire faire un voyage en amérique du sud (4-5 sem.). Ma blonde est allé au Pérou l'an passé et elle a adoré son voyage mais je ne voudrais pas repasser dans ses traces.

Un ami vénézuelien me suggère l'Équateur, la Bolivie, l'Uruguay qui selon lui sont des pays où il ne coûte pas cher à voyager et que les gens sont chaleureux. Je voyagerai seul (ma blonde travaille) et désire voir du pays sans que ça coûte une fortune (transport en commun, camping, petit auberge pas chère etc.).

Alors, avec toute l'expérience des gens sur le réseau, il y a sûrement quelqu'un qui a une bonne suggestion ou un petit conseil à partager.

In January 2023, we started our second road trip across the United States. We stayed from January to mid-March, which gave us plenty of time to visit several cities, attractions, and parks in multiple states.

This travel journal will be split into two parts due to the considerable number of places we visited.

This first journal covers the following states: Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California, and takes you through the outbound leg of our road trip.

The second journal will showcase the attractions we visited on the return trip, which mainly follows the famous Highway 1 along the Pacific coast.

USA Road Trip 2023 - Part 2

Alright, I'm diving into this Hawaiian travel journal! I hope lots of you will follow along because the destination is absolutely charming. 🙂 Just a heads-up—I might take a while to finish it.

The trip took place from February 20th to March 3rd, 2025 (11 days total, with 9 days on-site). It was a trip with my friend Christelle, with whom I’ve already traveled to Iceland and Morocco in recent years. We’re totally on the same wavelength, with the same expectations and desires, which makes things a lot easier (and, as a bonus, it helps cut down the final bill). Being the generous soul I am, I asked Christelle which country she wanted to visit. Her answer: Asia, since I’ve never been, or Namibia... Hawaii is basically the same thing, right?!! All thanks to the search comparator—I stumbled upon round-trip tickets from Paris to Honolulu for 580 € per person during school holidays, with a layover in Canada (I don’t get to choose my vacation dates). We jumped on it on August 28th (didn’t take much convincing). For info, I always check flight tickets during the last week of August or the first half of September because there are always amazing deals.

Nine days on-site is short, so we had to make some tough choices for the islands we’d visit (I’m only listing the main ones): - Oahu: the most urbanized but also home to Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, and some stunning beaches.

Kauai: the Garden Isle. It’s the island from *Jurassic Park*, with lush vegetation—so it’s pretty rainy. Big Island: volcanoes, volcanoes, and more, but also things like night snorkeling with manta rays. Maui: very touristy, with a magnificent volcano, the Road to Hana, and the ultimate spot for whale watching (and we were there right in the middle of whale season).

We limited ourselves to two islands to avoid rushing, and in the end, we picked Kauai (non-negotiable) and Oahu (which saved us an extra domestic flight and, since we were there in winter, let us experience the BIG WAVES on the North Shore). We would’ve loved to visit Big Island, but we’d already seen volcanoes in Iceland, and the island is huge—we just didn’t have enough time. Maui was recently hit by a major wildfire and is also the most expensive island (along with Kauai). We were really hoping to see humpback whales (my favorite animal) on both Oahu and Kauai. Hawaii is far, and it’s worth the effort. The journey went smoothly. I took a 40-minute bus ride and a 1h32 RER trip just to get to Roissy, then a 9h15 flight to Calgary, with a two-hour layover before a 6h45 flight to Honolulu. 11 hours of time difference, arriving at 10 PM local time. And you know what? (spoiler alert) I’d do it a thousand times if I got the chance.

Alright, let’s go—here we go!

Since no travel journal has been posted about this destination since 2020, I’m giving it a go—maybe it’ll jog some memories for a few of you or give others a few ideas... even if, in the end, there isn’t much to tell 😎! Even though the itinerary was as classic as can be, it still led to a few brain knots: in what order? How many nights on each island? Rent a car or not? In short, plenty of existential questions to land on 4 nights per island, finishing with Mahé to avoid any nasty surprises before the return flight.

Saturday 03/22: Flight to Mahé with Qatar Airways (no—or rather, no more—direct flights from Paris 😕) A nice surprise at CDG with the discovery of a new lounge in Terminal 1

Then, an in-depth exploration of Doha Airport thanks to (or because of) a loooong layover:



And finally, arrival at the tiny Mahé airport where we step onto the tarmac feeling like we’ve walked into a steam room

Baggage claim is quick, the shuttle to the port is on time, the ferry is punctual (we, on the other hand, are *very* early for it ), and there’s Praslin in sight:



... with a sneak peek of the sea’s colors 🙂 Quick note on the photos: most were taken with a smartphone, and the colors are a bit more saturated than in real life (I did bring my hybrid camera, but in the end, I barely used it since it wasn’t very practical to lug around on the water or for snorkeling).

We pick up the car (a Grand i10 instead of a Picanto) from a muddy parking lot (it just rained) and off we go—of course, with a windshield wiper instead of the turn signal 😎, left-hand driving obliges. In just a few minutes, we arrive at our accommodation for these 4 nights on Praslin (Oh, and now the "lien" tab isn’t working! ) We’re blown away by the view from the terrace:

J'ai fait une simulation vol Paris-Papeete avec french bee pour un départ dans six mois. ça donne la "modique" somme de 1.200 A/R. Vous confirmez pour ceux qui ont fait récemment le trajet ?

Ensuite Papeete-Hiva Oa avec Air Tahiti c'est environ 700 euros A/R. Soit près de 2.000 euros rien que pour les vols.

Avez vous de meilleurs plans ? Je précise que ce serait pour le mois d'octobre, donc pleine saison pour la Polynésie si mes sources sont exactes.
