Je compte partir d'Uyuni pour faire le tour dans le salar et le sud lipez, puis ensuite continuer mon voyage vers Potosi, Sucre etc. J'ai vu qu'il était possible, au lieu de revenir à Uyuni, de passer la frontière du Chili pour rejoindre SPA. Y a t-il un intérêt à cette extention du programme, sachant que je ne compte pas partir au sud du Chili ensuite, mais bien retourner en Bolivie? Si oui, quelles sont les excursions les plus intéressantes (non redondantes avec le salar) au départ de SPA? Enfin, comment revenir en Bolivie ensuite?

Ma copine et moi avons réservé une semaine sur la Riviera Maya à partir du 27 octobre 2013. Nous louons une voiture.

Nous aimerions visiter Chichén Itza avant la foule et donc loger à Valladolid la nuit précédente. Connaissez-vous des hotels et restos typiques ? Des endroits intéressants à visiter, pas spécialement touristiques. Sur la route Tulum, Coba (déja vu), Valladolid ? Tout nous intéresse.

Bonjour à tous, Nous sommes les 2 couples de quinquagénaires qui avons fait appel à vous, il y a quelques mois, pour demander votre avis sur le fait de partir avec un TO ou par nos propres moyens. Nous avons suivi vos conseils, et voilà, ça y est, on vient de finir l'ébauche de notre futur périple dans l'ouest Américain en septembre prochain. Rien n'est encore réservé, mais je pense qu'on va s'y mettre dans les jours qui viennent. Mais avant cela, nous aurions aimé vous soumettre notre futur programme, pour que puissiez nous donner votre avis. Beaucoup d'entre vous sont déjà passés par les sites que nous voulons visiter, et ont certainement du vécu derrière eux, et donc un avis éclairé sur la question! Merci d'avance pour vos commentaires sur nos choix ! Pour info, nous partons pour 24 jours et disposons d'un budget d'environ 10 000€ pour 4.

CIRCUIT OUEST DES ETATS-UNIS DU 31/08 AU 24/09/2012

Jour 1 : Embarquement à Roissy Charles de Gaulle et envol pour Phoenix.

Arrivée en soirée. Transfert en navette vers l’hôtel « Econolodge » Van Buren Street.

Dîner en ville et nuit à l’hôtel.

Jour 2 : Visite du Heard Museum, puis ballade au Papago Park.

Vers 16h récupération du véhicule de location puis achats de l’équipement nécessaire.

(glacière, jerrican, bâche, cartes, etc..) . 2ème nuit à l’Econolodge.

Jour 3 : Vers 7h30 départ vers l’Est pour la route de l’Apache Trail jusqu’à Tortilla Flat.

Arrêt au Superstition Saloon. Vers 10h demi-tour et prendre la route vers Grand

Canyon. Si possible, petite halte au Montezuma Castle National Monument.

Arrivée vers 16h à Grand Canyon Village. Installation à l'hôtel El Tovar.

Prendre la navette du parc pour ballade de l'Hermit Road. Nuit à l'hôtel.

Jour 4 : Tôt le matin, randonnée South Kaibab jusqu’à Cedar Ridge ou partie du Rim Trail.

Après le déjeuner, départ vers Monument Valley. Arrivée vers 17h.

Installation à l’hôtel The View. Visite du visitor center, expos et boutiques.

Dîner et nuit au View.

Jour 5 : Tôt le matin, ballade en voiture de la Valley Drive. Puis au nord-est, à Gooseneck

et Valley of the Gods. En début d’après-midi, départ pour Page.

Arrivée à Page vers 17h et installation au B&B Canyon Colors.

Jour 6 : Tôt le matin départ pour Antelope Canyon. Visite du Lower puis du Upper.

Après-midi, ballade à Horse Shoe Bend. Retour vers Page et visite du Glen

Canyon Dam. 2ème nuit au B&b Canyon Colors.

Jour 7 : Tôt le matin, partie de randonnée du Wire Pass de Buckskin Gulch.

Après-midi petite ballade au Rainbow Bridge National Monument.

Fin d’après-midi et 3ème nuit au Canyon Colors.

Jour 8 : Départ pour Bryce Canyon et arrivée vers 13h. Déjeuner puis faire la Scenic Drive.

Installation à l’hôtel Ruby’s Inn. Dîner et nuit au Ruby’s Inn.

Jour 9 : Tôt le matin, randonnée combinée Queen’s Garden Trail+Peekaboo Loop.

Après le déjeuner, départ pour Zion. Arrivée à Springdale vers 16h et installation

à l’hôtel Historic Pioneer Lodge. Prendre navette pour Zion Park et faire la Scenic

Drive. Nuit au Historic Pioneer Lodge.

Jour 10 : Tôt le matin, randonnée à définir (Pa’rus, Canyon Overlook, Emerald Pool’s,

Riverside Walk ou partie de Narrows). Vers 11h départ pour Las Vegas.

Déjeuner en route et arrivée à LV vers 16h. Installation à l’hôtel Bill’s Gamblin Hall

(ou New-York New-York, ou autre) . Fin d’après-midi et soirée en ville. Nuit à

l'hôtel.

Jour 11 : Mâtinée et déjeuner à Las Vegas. Départ vers 14h et arrivée à Death Valley vers17h30. Visite du Visitor Center de Furnace Creek puis ballade en voiture vers Badwater Basin, en passant par Golden Canyon, Desolation Narrows, et l’Artist Drive. En soirée, remonter vers le nord et installation à l'hôtel de Stovepipe Village. Diner et nuit à l'hôtel.

Jour 12 : Tôt le matin, ballade sur les dunes de Mesquite Flat. Vers 10h départ pour arriver vers

midi à Lone Pine. Déjeuner puis petite virée voir les Alabama Hills. Continuer vers le

nord et arrivée à Lee Vining vers 17h. Installation à l’hôtel (à définir).

En fin d’après-midi, ballade sur les rives du Mono Lake. Nuit à l’hôtel.

Jour 13 : Tôt le matin, départ pour la visite de Bodie. Vers 11h, prendre la direction de Yosemite

Prendre le Tioga Pass par la Hwy120 et arrivée à Yosemite Village vers 17h.

Installation à l'hôtel (à définir). Puis petite ballade voir les Lower Yosemite Falls.

Nuit à l'hôtel.

Jour 14 : Tôt le matin, randonnée Panorama Trail qui prendra la journée.

2ème nuit à l’hôtel.

Jour 15 : Tôt le matin, circuit puis ballade vers El Capitan. L’après-midi, visite de Mariposa

Grove. Puis départ pour Merced. Installation à l’hôtel Merced Yosemite Travelodge.

Nuit à l’hôtel.

Jour 16 : Départ pour San Francisco. Entrée par le nord pour traverser le Golden Gate Bridge.

Arrivée à SF vers midi. Déjeuner puis installation au Marina Hôtel à l'extrémité ouest

de Lombard Street. Fin d’après-midi et soirée en ville.

Visite des quartiers autour de l’hôtel (Marina-Pacific Heights). Nuit à l’hôtel.

Jour 17 : Assister à la messe en gospel du dimanche matin à la Glide Memorial Church.

Journée et soirée en ville.(quartiers Union Square-China Town- North Beach etc..)

2ème nuit au Marina Motel.

Jour 18 : Visite d’Alcatraz et de Fisherman’s Wharf. 3ème nuit au Marina Motel.

Jour 19 : Matînée à San Francisco. Après le déjeuner, prendre la direction de Los Angeles

par la Pacific Road N°1. Arrivée à Monterey vers 16h. Visite de la ville.

Installation et nuit à proximité de Monterey.

Jour 20 : Visite en mâtinée de l'aquarium. Départ pour Guadalupe. Visite des beautés de la

côte (Carmel-Big Sur-etc..) Nuit à proximité de Guadalupe.

Jour 21 : Départ en mâtinée et arrivée vers 11h à Santa Barbara. Visite de la ville et déjeuner.

Départ en début d’après-midi, et arrivée à Los Angeles vers 16h.

Installation à l’hôtel (à définir). Restitution du véhicule de location. Soirée en ville.

Nuit à l’hôtel.

Jours 22+23 : Visite des studios Universal, de la ville (Venice Beach-Beverley Hills-Hollywood blv etc…) 2ème et 3ème nuit à l’hôtel.

Jour 24 : Embarquement et vol retour vers Paris RCdG.

We’re a family of five (our kids are 6, 15, and 19) and we’d love to go somewhere warm with our feet in the water during the first two weeks of August 2026. We’d also like to do some cultural visits and a bit of hiking. We were thinking of Guadeloupe—I know it’s not the ideal time of year, but we don’t have much flexibility. Is it really a bad idea, or can we still enjoy it despite the weather?

Another option for us would be Madeira, which seems more reliable weather-wise, but it sounds like the beaches are less accessible and not as nice.

We haven’t really looked elsewhere because everything else (except the Canary Islands, Balearics, or Corsica) seems way too expensive. But if you’ve got any recommendations, don’t hesitate—we’re just starting to look into it.

Hi! We spent 10 wonderful days in Guadeloupe’s gorgeous climate. Our arrival got off to a shaky start, though—our suitcase was left behind at the airport, which caused quite a stir. A police officer was shouting at us to get out and cross the street. Then, a taxi driver refused to take us after we showed him where we were staying, right by the port in Pointe-à-Pitre. "No one goes there," he told us! Good thing we arrived during Carnival! A second driver finally agreed to take us, and I can say he knew every nook and cranny of his city.

The rest of the trip was amazing. The locals were smiling and welcoming. We didn’t rent a car, so we didn’t get around much and stayed in the Deshaies area—a real favorite. Plage de la Perle (Pearl Beach) truly lives up to its name! We liked Grande Anse Beach less because of the steep slope, which made walking tricky, and the waves were pretty intense. The landscapes in this part of the island are idyllic. We visited the botanical garden—it’s worth it—and went to the port in Deshaies. If we ever go back, we’ll rent a vehicle so we can explore more, because taxis aren’t cheap!

Hi everyone, I need your help! We’re planning to visit Guadeloupe and take the opportunity to explore the islands La Désirade, Marie-Galante, and Les Saintes. I initially planned to rent a car to get around the main island and then take the ferry from Trois-Rivières to Les Saintes, from Pointe-à-Pitre to Marie-Galante, and finally from Saint-François to La Désirade, following that route. But when I look at it, the car would sit unused for at least 5 days—that’s paying for nothing🙁. Is it possible to go from LES SAINTES to MARIE-GALANTE and then on to LA DÉSIRADE? We’d only rent a car once we arrive in Saint-François to continue exploring Guadeloupe. What do you think—is that doable? This trip is planned for April. Thanks so much for your help

Hi everyone.

I’m here to share a really reassuring experience about boarding a flight from France to Guadeloupe without an ID card or passport.

Yesterday, I met up with my friend at her place around 4:00 PM. She told me to leave my bag in my car while we ran an errand because “nothing ever happens here.”

When we got back at 8:00 PM, my car window was smashed, and my bag was stolen. In a panic about forgetting something for the trip, I’d left my whole life in that bag—ID card, passport, driver’s license, health insurance card—total meltdown. It was 8:00 PM, and our flight was at 10:00 AM the next day.

We’re on the plane right now, and I’ll tell you exactly what we did.

At 8:30 PM, we went to the police station. No one was there, but there was a number to call for night emergencies. They sent a team to take our statement. We explained that clothes weren’t the issue but that we had a flight the next day. They initially said they couldn’t file the theft report until the next morning. We pleaded a little, and they finally opened the station for us. They gave us the forms for reporting a stolen passport and ID card.

These documents are called either: *"Receipt for theft report"* *"Theft report"*

Even before we finished, we started researching online to see if this paperwork would be enough. The info we found on this forum (from 2014) and what was clearly stated on the Air Caraïbes website totally crushed us. It seemed like it was completely hopeless. Only one person said it depended on the mood of the staff we’d encounter at the airport.

Awful night, total despair.

We arrived at the airport at 6:30 AM for a 10:20 AM boarding. We went to the Air Caraïbes baggage drop-off way too early to talk to someone. We explained the problem to the first woman we saw.

She immediately reassured us that we’d be able to fly. Basically, if you have the police or gendarmerie document for the theft or loss, it’s 100% okay. No issues with that.

We had to fill out a first form swearing we were telling the truth about our checked baggage, then a second one for customs after our carry-on bags were inspected.

Didn’t report the theft or loss before arriving at the airport? No problem—there’s an office in the airport that handles that. Basically, we didn’t *have* to go to the police station.

The only really important thing is to arrive *very* early to have time to sort everything out. If you show up at customs or boarding without anything prepared beforehand, you’ll obviously be turned away.

If you're heading to Basse-Terre in Pointe-Noire, Guadeloupe, **do not** stay at Ara Wakam cabin. It looks tempting on Booking, but it’s a total **SCAM**. There aren’t two bedrooms as advertised—just a double bed in the living area and two single beds in the attic, where it’s **scorchingly hot** and the fan is **extremely noisy**. But the worst part? It’s **THE HOUSE OF MOSQUITOES**. No windows, shutters with gaps that don’t seal—nowhere to escape. The owner is dishonest, and the concierge is arrogant. We lost **800 €**.
