j'envisage de redécouvrir la Thailande l'été prochain mais en famille cette-fois ( nous sommes 4 dont 2 enfants 13 et 7 ans). Logement en GH ou petits hotels, programme nord, sud et Bk. Je devais partir pour Varadero avec Jetsgo dans deux semaines mais voilà qu'on vient de m'informer que Jetsgo avait annulé tous ses vols pour Cuba jusqu'à la fin octobre. Mon agence nous a tous trouver d'autres vols mais avec Air transat !!!

Je me demande pourquoi est-ce moins dangereux avec Air Transat qu'avec Jetsgo !!! Je suis très inquiète à savoir si je vais me rendre étant donné tous les ouragans ces temps-ci !!!

Salut tout le monde, je suis du Québec. Les études m'ont mis à bout de nerfs et je veux relaxer à "bas pris" cet été. Je n'ai jamais fait de voyage important donc je suis un peu perdu dans tout ça, j'aimerais avoir des "témoignages" de personnes qui, comme moi, ont décidé de partir très loin sur un coup de tête. Du même coup, il serait intéressant de partir avec quelqu'un pour partager l'expérience. Une jeune québécoise ou un québécois intéressant serait une bonne compagnie, je suis un gars très authentique et amusant. Je souhaite avoir des réponses relatives à l'argent que je dois prévoir pour un voyage de 2-3 mois et s'il peut être envisageable de trouver un emploi la-bas, je suis étudiant en Technologie physique.

Je pense partir fin juin et pour trois mois (et plus si...) vers un pays d'Afrique et, sur place, contacter les ONGs présentes. J'avais pensé au Nigéria mais je n'y ai "vu", pour l'instant, que la Croix-Rouge / Croissant-Rouge. Sans doute un peu trop tendu.

Autre idée ? Ceci me permettrait de mettre un pied dans la solidarité internationale * (logistique, administation, informatique (système (Windows et Linux, bureautique (excel, word, access))) et de poursuivre ensuite dans cette voie où je me sentirai plus utile que dans mon métier actuel (lequel n'est pas déplaisant, mais...).

When I run searches on Skyscanner, I see that only Lufthansa has flights to Seoul with just one stop. Air France doesn’t show up, even though I thought the French airline served Seoul? I can’t even log into the Air France website—it keeps glitching.

we have flights with Swiss and Lufthansa for January; our flights are still in our booking file. But after reading that the Cambodian ambassador in Paris advised against transiting through Bangkok (which is our case), I reached out to the airlines to potentially change our ticket via Singapore. However, both companies have canceled all flights to Cambodia, regardless of the day or airport. We’ll have our contact on the ground call us on Monday to figure out what to do, especially since no insurance covers war, conflict, etc. If anyone else is in the same situation with an upcoming departure, we can exchange tips

This afternoon I had a flight at 5:10 PM to Amsterdam from Nice (final destination: Berlin). I arrived at the airport a little before 3:00 PM and saw that the flight was now leaving at 6:30 PM. I went to the counter to point out that I wouldn’t have time to make my connection, and they told me I’d be spending the night in Amsterdam.

When the agent checked her computer, she saw that I’d been put on a flight with another airline and asked if I hadn’t received an email.

In the end, I had to change terminals and leave at 7:05 PM with Swiss Airlines, then Air Baltic.

Just to clarify, I checked in less than 24 hours ago for both KLM flights (Nice-Amsterdam and Amsterdam-Berlin) where I had seats assigned. I checked my emails carefully, and I was never notified!

Luckily, the Swiss Airlines flight left later—otherwise, at 3:00 PM, I wouldn’t have had time to check in (I have a checked bag), and I don’t know how I would’ve proven I never got an email. Also, thankfully, I went to the counter much earlier than planned for the 6:30 PM departure.

In the end, I was lucky because with KLM, I would’ve lost a whole day. And it’s a good thing I always travel for at least two full weeks because I’ve often lost a day due to delays—I wouldn’t do that for a week or a weekend getaway...

This is the first time this has happened to me, but there’s a first time for everything!

Does anyone know the check-in procedure for these flights? 1) For flight CX294 BXL-HKG, I’ll need to check in on the Cathay Pacific website, 2) For the next flight CX5552 HKG-DAD, what should I do? I only have a 2h25 layover. Will I need to collect my luggage, go through immigration, and then recheck in at the airport counter, etc.? I’m pretty worried about this layover—I thought check-in could be done on the airline’s website and that my luggage would be transferred automatically during the layover, like with most other airlines... And the Christmas festivities to see as well!

Unfortunately, due to health issues, my travel companion had to cancel this trip.

So, I’m looking for someone just like her... and like me. Fun, easygoing, friendly, and funny.

Someone who loves to laugh, who’s okay with transportation (buses, trains, rickshaws (tuk-tuks), bikes (very little... just on an island))...

Who’ll leave their worries at home, has no health issues, and enjoys going out during the day and in the evening for a drink.

I’ll get my visa this month... If someone is interested and decides quickly, we could definitely be on the same flight... I’ll obviously show you my itinerary...

The trip is all set...

23 nights on-site, flight ticket, visa, excursions, food, etc.—budget around 2600 €. Not bad, right?

On the agenda: various visits, endless rice fields and tea plantations, beaches, markets, chilling sometimes—in short, pure happiness.

People with difficult personalities or who are easily annoyed (lol) are excluded... Just someone nice who loves to have fun and live peacefully!

I work on my travel journals for 4 months, so this is about making the trip a success and being happy... I’ve been creating my own itineraries for 15 years...

My itinerary is ready... If you’re sure you can be free for the entire stay from December 2 to 26 (I’m not ruling out a travel companion), everyone will have their own room for the whole trip—I’ve booked everything accordingly...

A passport valid for at least 6 months after the return date is mandatory!

I managed to get a round-trip flight ticket for 580 € with very little waiting time (1.5 and 2.5-hour layovers... (Iberia operated by Qatar... With a bit of luck, we could be on the same flight).... I’ll apply for my visa online by the end of September... So, be sure of yourself so we can meet up quickly and possibly validate our visas together and book your flight ticket...

Hi everyone,

Since I had trouble finding up-to-date info, here’s an update on some key points for Jordan/Egypt ferries as of August 2025.

Right now, AB Maritime is the only company still operating ferries. Other companies sometimes mentioned (Jordan Sinaï Hotel and Tour, Sinaï Ferry, etc.) have stopped running (no response by phone or email, and confirmed on-site).

On the Jordanian side, the fast ferry doesn’t leave from the port of Aqaba but from Tala Bay (20 km further south). There’s supposedly a slow ferry that departs in the evening from Aqaba port (according to a taxi driver), but I couldn’t find any info about it.

Currently, there’s one ferry per day in each direction for Aqaba/Taba and another for Aqaba/Nuweiba. But the schedules aren’t great for backpackers—and they’re not the same every day.

On the Jordanian side at Tala Bay, you access the port by walking through a large resort, go through border control before boarding the ferry (+ luggage check). You have to pay the exit tax of 10 JOD (12 €) to "someone sitting on a bench in front"!!! It’s true—you need to ask who to pay, or customs won’t let you through without the magic coupon. Oddly, I arrived early and managed to take a different ferry than the one I’d booked online by insisting (it wasn’t open for online reservations). I bought the ticket on the AB Maritime website. Confirmation by email was brief. Then you have to find another person outside the port who has the passenger list and will give you the actual ticket. (What a joy this organization is!) Luckily, everyone’s really friendly with tourists.

On the Egyptian side, arrival in Taba isn’t in Taba itself but at Taba Heights (20 km further south), in a hotel zone. Immigration can be more or less quick depending on your place in the queue at the single office... (free Sinai visa or paid Egypt visa). And outside... nothing. Nothing: no exchange bureau, no ATM, no drink or SIM vendor... A nightmare. No bus station. One or two taxis at prohibitive prices. Personally, I walked about fifteen minutes to the Strand Hotel to find someone who could actually help me (ATM out of service in that big resort). From there, two bus companies currently operate: Webus in small vans but you have to book at least 2 days in advance (frequent, fast, reasonable prices) or GoBus with large buses (only one per day, even cheaper). They head south to Nuweiba, Sharm El Sheikh, etc. A taxi from Taba to Sharm was quoted at 120 USD at the port exit!

For me, the ferry and GoBus schedules didn’t align at all. If I’d known about Webus earlier, I could’ve saved 6 hours of waiting...

On another note, a Taiwanese traveler I met also mentioned that the Hurghada-Sharm El Sheikh ferry is no longer running.

Basically, these border crossings and ferries are more suited to organized tours than backpackers, but it’s still doable.

I live in the French overseas territories, so I have a flight from St. Martin to Orly. Early September is cyclone season. If there’s an alert or cyclone, my flight could be postponed.

I’m considering connecting with a flight from CDG to Bangkok. I’d have to buy my second flight as open-ended, otherwise I’d lose it—it’s not the same airline. I found a good price on Oman Air, Economy Comfort option. Change fees are only 20 OMR—basically nothing. Then there’s the option for a paid upgrade: would that mean the price gets adjusted on the day of the flight?

I just booked the flight tickets for two people. We arrive on July 21st in the afternoon in São Vicente and will leave again on August 11th from Praia.

I was thinking of staying around 4 days in Mindelo to explore São Vicente using shared aluguers. Then take the boat to Santo Antão, stay there for about five days to do different hikes, staying in Ponta do Sol. After that, it gets a bit tricky—we’ll return by boat to São Vicente to reach São Nicolau. I wanted to know when the ferry leaves in terms of days and times? Or the plane? We’ll stay there for about four days, then take the ferry or plane to Santiago. Same question—what days does the ferry leave and at what time? Or the plane? Finally, we’ll end our trip in Santiago; I’m thinking of staying in Tarrafal. I also wanted to know where in São Vicente we can exchange euros for Cape Verdean escudos. I was planning to use shared aluguers for all our travel.

I’m planning to take Air France from Paris to Trujillo with my 2 bikes in boxes. I have a layover in Lima and a change to LATAM Airlines for Trujillo. On the way back, it’s Santa Cruz in Bolivia via Lima (LATAM Airlines) and then Air France to Paris. During the layovers in Lima, do I need to collect my luggage and the bike boxes and re-check them for the second flight? It’s really hard to get through to Air France for this kind of question.
