Bonjour, je me demandais s'il y avait des spectacles de musique ou des festivals qui auront lieu entre le 29 juillet et le 15 août en Italie et à Nice. Je vais dans le coin de Nice, Florence, Rome, Venise, Milan et Naples. J'aime surtout la musique r&b, rap et reggae.

De plus, j'aimerais savoir quels sont les bars branchés 🤪, les petits pubs et les magasins que vous préférez à ces endroits? J'aimerais connaître les soirées populaires pour les jeunes (20-30 ans), les soirées où il y a des spécials et également les petites places sympas plus tranquille. Pouvez-vous me dire pourquoi vous aimez ces bars (bonne musique, ambiance...) Connaissez-vous de beaux magasins pas trop chers 😉?

Je compte partir en voiture au départ de Perpignan vers la Suisse (Lausanne, Neufchâtel, Berne, Lucerne Zurich) puis l'Autriche (Vienne) jusqu'à Prague en Rép. Tchèque, puis Slovaquie, Hongrie, Slovénie avec peut-être un petit crochet sur la Croatie puis l'Italie (Milan, Turin...?). Alors, suis-je tout-à-fait inconsciente ou est-ce bien réalisable en 3-4 semaines ?!? Sachant que je pars avec ma fille de 19 ans, ce qui veut dire que nous sommes 2 filles et que je redoute les routes sinueuses ou longeant le vide... A moins que ce soit facile et pas cher en train vu que c'est un moyen de transport que j'utilise énormément... Pour se faire comprendre, l'anglais suffit ou il vaut mieux avoir des notions d'allemand ou autre ? Pour manger et dormir, connaissez-vous des astuces, des lieux ? On parle beaucoup de chambre chez l'habitant (les zimmers) Est-ce vraiment le mieux, et le moins cher bien sûr rapport qualité prix ? Est-il préférable de tout organiser et réserver maintenant ou ça peut se faire au fur et à mesure vu que c'est en juin et y a-t-il des papiers à prévoir ou vaccins ou autre ? Pour payer, la carte bleue visa est-elle suffisante pour tous ces pays et quelle est la monnaie de ceux qui ne sont pas à l'euro ? I bought a Trenord train ticket online from Milano Centrale station to Como. While I’ve been to Italy several times and taken trains before, this is my first time traveling with this company.

The app says the QR code will be available when the ticket becomes valid, which is at the train’s departure time. But I was wondering if there are turnstiles like the ones in French stations, and I’d like more details on how to use tickets with Trenord. I tried looking for information but couldn’t find everything I needed.

We’re planning this *very* last-minute—I know! But we’d love to spend 4 days soon (within the next 10–12 days) on a city getaway with our young adult kids. Ideally by train, and for this short trip, we’d prefer not to spend more than 4–6 hours in transit, leaving from Lausanne (Switzerland). We’ve been considering Milan, Strasbourg, or Freiburg im Breisgau, but I’ll admit I’m feeling a bit lost...

Venice was our original plan, but the connection changes in Domodossola or Milan are making the travel time longer this year.

It’s peak summer, so there’ll be tourists and it’ll likely be hot, but oh well...

Any suggestions? We love wandering around, taking photos, exploring cities on foot, trying out restaurants, and keeping things low-key.

Hi everyone, vacation is coming up... Don’t stress about life—with three weeks to go, we’re just starting to plan our days.

If you have any ideas, we’ll be based in Colonno.

Excluding arrival and departure days, we have 9 full days.

Nice hikes? Waterfalls? Towns or villages you absolutely must see? Any zoos or aquariums in this area? I haven’t found anything!

For now, our plans (in no particular order) are:

- A day in Milan - A day in Como - A day in Lugano (on the antiques market day, then returning via Lanzo d’Intelvi for the views) - A day in Locarno (funicular and other attractions)

Maybe a day in Bellinzona—I have to go there during our stay anyway, so why not spend the whole day there?!

My wife wants to take a boat tour on Lake Como.

The GreenWay hike looks nice, especially with a teen, especially since the starting point is behind our rental.

I also spotted the village of Griante because you can hike up to the Chiesa di San Martino church with a great view once you arrive—perfect for our usual picnic...

Anyway, as you can tell, we’re missing ideas for 1 or 2 days. If no one posts, no worries—we’ll figure it out. To be honest, I haven’t really looked beyond the "cities" to visit. But since we’re heading to a very touristy area this time, I thought it might be nice to get some tips!

My summer trip between France and Montenegro is pretty much set.

Now I just need to plan the return route from Mostar.

On the way there, I took the Mont Blanc Tunnel, drove through Italy to Trieste, a small part of Slovenia, and then the Croatian coast.

For the return trip, I’d like to mix things up and avoid the Croatian coast.

So far, I’m thinking of stopping in Rastoke, Croatia, and then Milan, Italy.

Any other suggestions?

After traveling solo across Iran and the Stan countries from one end to the other,

this time I’m heading to Southeast Asia with my wife and our 3-year-old.

I went to the Philippines almost 10 years ago and actually met some forum members there. It was love at first sight.

I’ve booked tickets from January 10 to March 31 for Bangkok (amazing price from Milan). I was thinking of spending: 3 weeks in Thailand 3 weeks in Vietnam 1 month in the Philippines.

Don’t worry, I won’t spam the forum with a thousand messages asking how to get from point A to point B :)))

I’m reaching out to the experts or regulars here for suggestions and ideas!

For Thailand, Obviously, some beautiful beaches wouldn’t hurt for a bit of relaxation. I was thinking of Koh Phayam or Koh Kood (or Koh Chang). If anyone knows a nice spot, even if it’s not on an island, I’m all ears. It’s tricky to ask this for Thailand, but I’m looking for a bit of tranquility (so I’ll probably avoid Phuket, Koh Samui, etc.). (Though I know sometimes you just need to get off the beaten path to find some peace, but I’m not sure if that’s the case in Thailand.)

Vietnam—I have no idea!! A friend mentioned Danang, which could be a good base to explore the countryside/inland areas.

And the Philippines—I had a huge crush on the country (Bantayan, Dumaguete, Sipalay, Siquijor) and really want to go back, maybe to new places/islands.

I have one constraint: We’ll stay in the same place each time. With a kid, it’s tough to move every 2 days (unlike when I’m solo), and I hope this will let us connect with locals by staying put for 3 weeks at a time. (Plus, my budget is pretty tight, so the idea is to negotiate a good price for 3 weeks in the same accommodation.) (My rough budget is 1000 € per month for the three of us: 450 € for lodging, 450 € for food, and 100 € for a scooter. This doesn’t include boat, bus, etc. transfers.)

If you have any ideas, tips, or experiences to share, I’m all ears! I’m totally open to shortening or extending our stays in each country, even if it means skipping one of the three.

As planned every year for quite some time now, here we are in Italy on the Ligurian Coast to spend a few days and celebrate New Year's 2024/2025.

Our base is in the charming town of Rapallo, between Genoa and La Spezia. We're right on the coast, with our hotel offering a sea view and access to the beach.

Not far from Rapallo, you can find, besides the Cinque Terre, Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Chiavari, and others like Carrara and even Pisa. In short, there's plenty to do.

Five days there with so-so weather, and crowds but nothing overwhelming.

For the trip between home and our base, we're using an electric vehicle. It's manageable without any issues. The hotel has outlets, and otherwise, there are charging points all over Italy. And just to note, Tesla chargers are the best in terms of cost and charging speed.

There you have it.

Once we arrived on Sunday, December 29th, it was time to go for a walk, book a restaurant for Monday evening, and finalize the itinerary.

On Monday the 30th, we were lucky enough to see a beautiful sunrise from our window.

There have already been quite a few travel journals about Naples, so this is more of a photographic stroll. There aren’t too many practical tips, but feel free to ask! This trip took place in May 2019.

It’s the day before departure, and I’m excited as can be! I’ve wanted to see Naples and its region for a while—this city everyone calls bubbling with life. While I’m packing my bags, I get a message from the airline saying there’s going to be an air traffic controllers’ strike and my flight might not take off... What? How? You’re kidding, right? I’ve been waiting for this trip for weeks. I check online, and yes, it’s true... What to do?!? I look up the train schedule and find out the train leaves a few hours earlier, with a stop in Milan and then straight to Naples. Decision made—I’m taking the train; it’s a new experience. I leave at 5 AM on an almost empty train, arrive in Milan 4.5 hours later, and rush to catch the train to Naples. This is my first time taking the train in Italy, and I love it. After an hour of travel, a gentleman arrives with a small cart and an authentic coffee machine on top. He asks me: *caffè, signora?* Si, si, si! And he starts the machine—here’s my first Italian espresso with little biscuits.



I arrive in Naples in the early afternoon. The station is packed, cars everywhere, and I’m already soaking up the atmosphere. I drop my things off at the B&B and head out to explore the city. There are incredible crowds everywhere, noise, food on every street corner, and every scene is a real photographic delight :) I’m in the Chiaia neighborhood and try my first street pizza, made right in front of me—how can I say it? Excellent. In the late afternoon, I wander through the streets before grabbing an aperitivo on one of the many terraces.









The next day, I head to Capri... It’s true, Capri is very touristy, but it’s worth seeing once in your life. After a choppy crossing, I’ve earned a good shower, a plate of pasta, and a limoncello. Then I set off for a walk through the little streets that go up and down endlessly. The view is stunning, and the kilometers add up... I’ve definitely earned a break by the pool with a gelato :)

Bonjour, je suis en train de préparer un itinéraire pour me rendre dans les Balkans depuis Lyon en mars. L'idée est d'alterner le train sur certains tronçons et le vélo sur d'autres. Je pense faire Lyon-Domodossola (Nord de l’Italie juste après le Somport) en train puis la région des lacs en vélo, (lac Maggiore, lac de Côme, lac de Garde). Y a t'il un itinéraire qui peut relier ces lacs sans descendre trop au sud dans les villes et sans aller trop au Nord en altitude (on sera encore en mars) en vélo par des routes tranquilles ou des voies cyclables. Les préparatifs :

30 ans ça se fête !!

Du coup on décide de se faire plaisir… mais vu que nous n’avons pas gagné au loto tout ce qui pouvait être payé en amont l’a été pour étaler le budget le plus possible et se faire plaisir sur place.

Voici le planning de notre séjour : - 25/09 : Arrivée à Toronto - 26/09 : Toronto - 27/09 : Toronto – Niagara falls - 28/09 : Niagara falls – Gananoque – Ottawa - 29/09 : Ottawa - 30/09 : Ottawa – Mont Tremblant - 01/10 : Mont Tremblant - 02/10 : Mont Tremblant – Québec - 03/10 : Québec – Tadoussac – Québec - 04/10 : Québec - 05/10 : Québec – Montréal - 06/10 : Montréal - 07/10 : Montréal - 08/10 : Montréal – New York - 09/10 – 14/10 : New York - 15/10 : Départ de New York

La première étape a été les billets d’avion pour Noël 2018 : 773€ pour 2 via Alitalia Vol aller : Milan - Rome - Toronto Vol retour : New York - Paris – Milan Bien penser à faire l’AVE ($14) et l’ESTA ($28) avant de partir.

Et après consultation des prix pratiqués, nous avons décidé de prendre l’avion pour faire Montréal – New York 216€ pour 2

En ce qui concerne l’hébergement, nous nous nous sommes principalement logés via la plateforme AirBnb au Canada et en hôtel à New York. Dans chaque cas, logements avec salle de bain privative et en moyenne cela nous a couté 61€/nuit au Canada et 170€/nuit à New York.

Nous avons également loué une voiture pour nos déplacements au Canada entre Toronto et Montréal pour 219€.

Je ne vais pas lister toutes les dépenses mais seulement les principales. Certains prix seront données en €, d’autre en $ (pour 2) c’est normal pas d’inquiétude. Au vu de la qualité de ma prose, j’essaie de ne pas trop détailler le voyage donc si vous voulez plus de précisions n’hésitez pas à demander.

Mardi 24 septembre :

Départ de Savoie direction Arona sur les rives du lac de garde,



on se rapproche de l’aéroport de Milan MXP, notre vol est prévu à 10h le lendemain matin. Nuit à Blue relais Maggiore 57€ (avec petit déjeuner).

Mercredi 25 septembre :

Départ de bonne heure pour aller déposer la voiture à Mister parking, un des nombreux parking lowcost de MXP (63€ pour 3 semaines, pas trouvé moins cher). Puis le navette nous amène gratuitement jusqu’au terminal demandé.

Décollage à l’heure, escale sans problème et nous arrivons à Toronto à 19h15 heure locale, passage de la douane ultra rapide et direction le centre-ville via l’UP express et le tram, un peu long mais bien pratique.

Arrivée à l’hôtel vers 21h heure locale, dodo.

2 nuits à l’auberge Clarence Park $240 (sans petit déjeuner) pas grand chose à dire sur le rapport qualité/prix, le mieux que nous ayons trouvé.

Sympa la vue !!



Jeudi 26 septembre :

Réveillé et au garde à vous à 5h… dur. Nous décidons de partir nous balader vers le Rodger center





Avant d’aller prendre un brunch



Le temps de repasser à l’hôtel payer, direction à pied Nathan Phillips square



Puis Yonge Dundas square



Pas de repas le midi mais on s’arrêtera quand même au St Lawrence market.



Retour à l’hotel pour une petite sieste avant de repartir dans l’autre sens au Distillery historic District



Nous terminons la journée par un jolie couché de soleil sur les îles de Toronto ($16)



Et en haut de la CN Tower ($86)





Belle mise en jambe, agréablement surpris mais grosse journée quand même, va falloir se calmer…

Vendredi 27 septembre :

Pas tout à fait remis du décalage horaire debout tôt. Nous tachons de trouver de quoi faire un bon brunch comme la veille (touristes !!) Le temps de récupérer nos bagages, de passer devant la fac de Toronto, il est déjà l’heure de récupérer notre carrosse. A la base une petite voiture simple (comme en France quoi)… « Oh… wait !! » Finalement nous nous retrouvons avec un gros Mitsubishi Outlander flambant neuf, 18000km… Seul véhicule dispo pour retourner à Montréal. Bon, on va prendre l’assurance ($87) on sait jamais…

Direction donc Niagara falls et ses impressionnantes chutes,

Sa ville parc d’attraction



Et son flot ininterrompu de bus touristiques…

Nous n’avons pas fait l’excursion en bateau jusqu’au pied des chutes, cela ne nous a pas attiré.

Nuit au Glengate Hotel & suites 76€ (avec le petit déjeuner) Bof…

Samedi 28 septembre :

Bien fait de prendre l’assurance pour la voiture, coups de clef sur la portière…

Longue route le long du lac Ontario jusqu’à Gananoque. Nous arrivons il pleut et il n’y a pas bien de visibilité. On annule la croisière aux 1000 îles, dommage… On en profite pour se balader en ville où se déroule une petite fête de village. Comme dans les films





Cela nous fait arriver plus tôt à Ottawa, nous en profitons pour nous promener et aller manger en ville



Tous les parkings en centre-ville sont payant et ultra chers (quelque soit la ville)…

Logement pour 2 nuit à Gatineau 105,5€
