CFC Travel Insurance Certificate
by Tonyma · 2025-07-13 · 2 replies
Hi there, we’re planning an Adriatic cruise in September 2025 on CFC’s Renaissance ship—we’ve already sailed with them four times. For this new cruise, when entering passenger details, we’re asked to check the box “I have taken out insurance,” which is the first time this has been required. For recent sailings on the CFC Renaissance, did they ask you for an insurance certificate? Thanks
Kawah Ijen ascent requirements with a 7-year-old child
by Delfvegan · 2025-07-06 · 5 replies
Hi everyone, we’re heading to Java in August, specifically to KAWAH IJEN. I’ve seen that there are new requirements like a medical certificate since 2024—is this still the case? Can our 6-year-old daughter do the ascent? Can she go down to see the blue flames at night with gas masks? If not, is it better during the day? Thanks for your feedback!
Where to stay for 2-3 days in the Douro Valley?
by Fredlemellec · 2025-06-14 · 1 reply
Hi there, We’re spending a week in Porto this summer and plan to explore the surrounding area. A visit to the Douro seems unavoidable! We’ll be discovering a lot once we’re there, but we’re still looking for recommendations on where to stay... Could you help us out? We’ve read that spending a night in a quinta would be great, but it seems way out of our budget. Or is it? We’ve set a max budget of around 150 €. Otherwise, we’re looking for charming little villages with nice restaurants to end the day on a high note. We’re open to all suggestions—thanks in advance for your help! Delphine and Fred

Short-stay visa convertible to long-stay for family reunification
by Ricofclmada5 · 2025-05-30 · 6 replies
Hello, We’ll soon be moving to Madagascar long-term. As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris. No issues with that procedure so far. If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones). If you have any info on this, I’d appreciate your replies. Best regards, M. Buisson Eric

Cambodia Itinerary Questions for February
by Natgrouve · 2025-05-23 · 3 replies
Hi there, We’re heading to Cambodia for 15 days in February 2026. We’ll spend 3 nights in Siem Reap for the Angkor temples, then check out the floating markets. I’d love to know if Battambang is worth the detour. If so, we’re thinking of taking a ferry across the lake, staying one night, and then flying to the islands for the second week. Which islands would you recommend—Koh Rong or Koh Rong Samloem—or is there another that’s better for relaxation, downtime, and snorkeling? Thanks for your tips!
Eurocity train: luggage limits and frequency
by Europetrip · 2025-05-22 · 1 reply
Hi, We're taking the train between Brussels - Rotterdam - Amsterdam, likely an Eurocity. I'm wondering if there's a limit on luggage (number of suitcases and size). Another question: on the Rotterdam -> Brussels route, it seems there aren't any trains on Saturday afternoons. Do trains run frequently on Saturdays and maybe Sundays in the Netherlands? Thanks in advance for your replies! :)
Returning a rental car at the port of Tanger Med
by Frisette7979 · 2025-04-27 · 3 replies
Hi there, we’re traveling to Tangier this summer—flying in (and renting a car) then leaving by ferry from TANGER MED, but without the car. Does anyone know if it’s possible to return the rental car at the TANGER MED port when we picked it up at TANGIER airport? I can’t find the info anywhere. Thanks so much!

Phongsaly or Luang Namtha for an authentic trek with a child?
by Yohma1905 · 2025-03-31 · 6 replies
Hello, We’re heading to Laos in December 2025, and we want to do a multi-day trek—maybe even a week—to really take our time and make stops in villages since we’ll have our 3-year-old daughter with us.

We’re torn between the Luang Namtha region or Phongsaly for our big trek. We’re looking for the least touristy spot possible, we love mountains, so we’d like an area with varied landscapes, including rice paddies, and a chance to really connect with local ethnic groups. We’re after authenticity and only want to stay with locals. Which of the two should we prioritize? Any advice would be welcome to help us decide—it’s tough when you don’t know the area! Maybe there are other spots in the north worth considering for a beautiful week-long trek.

Thanks, fellow travelers
18-day road trip from Salt Lake City to San Francisco
by Bolla · 2025-03-15 · 4 replies
Hi there, We’re planning a trip in August 2025 with two kids (8 and 11 years old) in a camper van through the American West. Any tips for renting a van? (I’ve started looking, and it seems really expensive—August probably doesn’t help...) But it’ll still be cheaper and more nature-focused than motels... We’re considering this route: Salt Lake City - Great Salt Lake - Yellowstone - Grand Teton, then heading back down toward Lake Tahoe, Yosemite (Sequoia Park if we have time), and San Francisco. Do you think this is doable? Any suggestions for other sites to visit? Also, any recommendations for campgrounds in these areas? Thanks in advance!
Renting a car in Krabi province
by Lyspourpre · 2025-02-24 · 1 reply
Hi! We're spending 4 days in Krabi in April—lots of walks, hikes, and sites to explore, all about 30 km away. I'm wondering, since I'm not a big fan of minibuses (some of us get motion sickness easily), is it feasible to rent a car to explore the Krabi area? Or is that a bad idea? Thanks for your feedback!!!
Review of Memnon Reisen agency for a pyramids excursion
by Caro0478 · 2025-02-17 · 5 replies
Hi, We’re heading to the Tropitel Sahl Hasheesh hotel with family from April 19 to 26 and we’d like to visit the pyramids in Cairo. I found an agency that looks interesting: Memnon Reisen, but when it came time to pay the deposit, I got worried it might be a scam—the account is based in Dubai. Has anyone heard of them or used this company before? Thanks for your help.
Choosing between a guided tour of the Acropolis or Delphi
by Agra38 · 2025-02-16 · 2 replies
Hello, We’re heading to Greece in April. We’ll only be in Athens for 2 days (we’re not big fans of big cities) and then doing a road trip to Delphi and the Peloponnese. We wanted to do a guided tour with a guide because our kids are really into ancient Greece. Initially, we were thinking of a guided tour of the Acropolis, but it seems complicated since the only day that works for us is Easter Monday. After some thought, we’re wondering if maybe a guided tour of Delphi would be better? Because the Acropolis already has lots of explanatory panels and is very well-documented, whereas Delphi might not be as much. Also, the only guided tours we found for the Acropolis are at 11:00–11:30 AM, which is exactly when it’s packed, and we try to avoid crowds (we were planning to visit the Acropolis as early as 9:00 AM). What do you think? Thanks in advance! Have a great day
Taxi transport from the airport to the hotel in Madeira
by Nathalvoyage · 2025-02-16 · 2 replies
Hi there, we're heading to Madeira next week. We don’t plan to rent a car directly at the airport. We have 19 km to cover to get to our hotel—is taking a taxi a good deal in Funchal?

Thanks, have a great day everyone
What destination near Singapore during monsoon season?
by Garazi64 · 2025-01-27 · 3 replies
Hi there, We’re visiting our daughter in Singapore during All Saints' Day. The plan is to spend 3-4 days there to enjoy time with her and explore Singapore, which we’ve never seen before. After that, we’d like to spend 8 days somewhere not too far away—mixing sightseeing and maybe some beach time. We’ve already been to Bali, Thailand, and northern Vietnam. This’ll be starting October 20th, so, let’s just say it’s not the best season for Southeast Asia—I know, with the monsoon, we’re fully aware.

Any destination ideas for this time of year? I was thinking Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi?), Borneo (8 days?), or the Philippines, but I think that might be a bit too far for just 8 days.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Accommodation ideas in Flic en Flac, Mauritius for April 2025
by Famille0306 · 2024-11-03 · 1 reply
Hi there, We’re rediscovering the island in early April, 20 years later, with our three teenage kids. We’re looking for a nice place to stay that’s budget-friendly—ideally with a pool, very close to the beach, and three bedrooms since our oldest will be studying for her baccalaureate exams and might stay at the residence from time to time. Oh, and just to mention... unfortunately, a hotel for five is way out of our budget.

Thanks for your recommendations, and see you Sunday! Family0306
Conseils pour la Grande Traversée du Massif Central en tandem English translation pending
by TimBouh · 2020-09-24 · 7 replies
Bonjour,

by Cambrousse · 2020-08-04 · 2 replies
Bonjour,

by Karine123GO · 2020-07-08 · 9 replies
Bonjour,

Karine
