Petites questions aux "locaux" de Bangkok... Combien de temps faut-il compter entre la gare de Bangkok et l'aéroport ?

Au cours de notre périple, nous voyagerons en train de Pitsanulok à Bangkok et nous enchainerons directement avec un vol pour Krabi... j'ai les horaires d'avion mais pas le timing gare-aéroport... 🤪

Bonjour, voila je pars la semaine prochaine c'est a dire dimanche 22 mai jusqu'au 17 juin en Thailande.

Il s'agit de mon 1er voyage sans vraiment passer par un tour operator. Nous sommes "un couple" et nous avons 20 ans tous les 2. Voila pour nos presentations.

Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir un billet pour 450 euros seulement avec Gulf air.

premiere question : comment est -cette compagnie ? y at-il des ecrans individuelles proposant des films....?car mon amie ne tient pas en place ;).

Nous avons fait un programme pour nous rassurer un peu pour notre premier voyage. (bien entendu, ce programme sera ammené à changer en sur place)

Lundi 23 mai : Arrivée à Bangkok transfert à l'hotel D&D . Nous avons choisis kao san raod car apprament, 'est pratique pour tout organiser donc parfait pour nous.

Mardi 24 mai : Visite des principraux temps (grand palais, wat po, wat arun, et promenade en klong)

Mercredi 25 mai : Journée a muang boran

Jeudi 26 mai : Matinée au zoo de dusit puis transfert à kanchanabury

vendredi 27 mai : Journée au temple au tigre car je suis fan de ses grosses bebetes.

Samedi 28 mai : Excursions chutes d'erawan

dimanche 29 mai : Excursion Sangkhiaburi avec cols des 3 pagodes, cutes d'eaux...

lundi 30 mai : Journée avec les elephants de fc ki habite kanchanabury puis depart poar le train de nuit pou chiang mai.

Mardi 31 mai : Arrivée a chiang mai, installation au bungalows guest house de manu et laprés midi visite des fabriques artisanales.

Mercredi 01, 02 et 03 mai trekking dans le nord

Samedi 4 juin : tribu des femmes au long coups

dimanche 5 juin : decouverte de chiang mai ....

Ensuite nous avions prevu de rester donc une 10aine de jour à Samui et ko tao.

Puis retour un ou 2 jours avant à bangkok pour les derniers achats...

Voila donc j'aimerais avoir votre point de vue sur ce programme avec ce qu'on pourrait enlever, ce qu'on pourrait rajouter...Sachant que je vais sans doute rajouter une journée à ayutaya lorsque je serais à bangkok.

Si j'arrivais pas à prendre un train de NUit dès mon arrivée, je compte alors monter sur Chiang Maï "à la découpe", bref en faisait escale à Ayuthaya, Sukhotaï et alors Chiang Maï. y aurait-il une station de BUs près de l'aéroport pour Ayiuthaya ?!!! j'ai pas envie de rentrer dans BKK avant de remonter dans le Nord. Je pense au BUS car il semble que le 1er train pour Ayuthaya après mon arrivée (15h30)soit à 19h !!!

Je cherche des informations et des impressions de voyage sur le Laos. Suis en train de préparer voyage au Cambodge/Laos au mois d'août sur 4 semaines, nous avons prévus de commencer Siem reap, 5 jours pr visiter Angkor et le lac Tonlé Sap puis Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang prabang, Luang Nam tha avant de commencer notre retour sur le Cambodge par le Sud Laos en passant par Muang Khammouan (mahaxaï) et Paksé (plateau des Bolovens) avant de prendre le bateau pr retourner à Phnom penh.

Le temps imparti pour ce circuit étant limité, nous allons devoir peut-être renoncer à certaines de nos étapes. Aussi, j'aimerais avoir vos impressions sur Vang Vieng, Mahaxai et le plateau des Bolovens, diffcile question que de savoir quelle étape supprimer....

Par ailleurs, je souhaiterais avoir des informations sur les transports, leur temps et coût si possible notamment entre luang prabang et luang nam tha, et luang prabang et Savannakhet: existe-il une ligne intérieure ? ou m^me de Lunag Prabang à Mahaxai (sur la carte du Laos que j'ai, un aéroport est mentionné mais ds le guide du routard il n'y a aucune info sur ces liaisons aériennes).

Pour terminer, combien coûte la liaison bateau entre la frontière du Laos et Phnom penh ?

Je pars pour la Thailande à la fin du mois. Nous devons rester 4 jours à Bangkok avant de descendre vers le sud. Pourriez-vous m'indiquer les endroits qu'il ne faut pas manquer de visiter. Je suis bien consciente qu'en 4 jours, il est bien difficile de tout faire mais j'aimerais quand meme ne pas louper le plus important. J'attends donc vos suggestions et je vous remercie à l'avance.

😄Nous partons samedi prochain vers Bangkok, et ensuite le Laos. Aprés arrêt à Vientiane et à Luang Prabang nous aimerions monter dans le Nord pour des mini treks de 3 ou 4 jours dans les villages cités. Qui a des idées à nous donner? Sachant que nous sommes autonomes avec sac à dos et bonne humeur!

je prépare actuellement un voyage de 6 mois en Asie, les 2 premieres mois en Inde, le 3eme au Népal.

les 3 derniers moi j'hesite beaucoup entre la Thailande, le cambodge, le Laos, le Vietnam ou l'indonésie.

L'idée est de faire 2 ou 3 pays en 3 mois. J'aime faire du sport dans le spays que je traverse (plongée, trek, etc...).

Does anyone know if there are direct transport options from Cambodia to Ko Chang without having to go back through Bangkok? That would be amazing!! I think there are, but I’d need more details!! Hello, We’re heading to Thailand for 26 days (excluding flights) next July with our two teens (12 and 15 years old). My husband and I have been there several times before they were born—so that’s 15 years ago—and I’m a bit worried about some of the changes that might have happened since, especially with the rise in tourism... I’d also like to keep a pace that allows us to settle in a bit and enjoy local life beyond just the main sights. Plus, we’re pretty active. For now, our plan looks like this:

Arrival in Bangkok, where we’re thinking of spending several days (minimum 4) Chiang Mai for about a week 2 or 3 islands in the Gulf Return to Bangkok for 2 days before departure.

We’re pretty set on Bangkok and Chiang Mai, but we’re unsure about which islands to visit—I’ve read such mixed things that I’m even wondering if we should consider the coast instead. Organization-wise, I’d love any tips or feedback on whether we need to book in advance at this time of year, which transport options to prioritize (train, bus, or plane), and of course, any suggestions for stops or routes. Hi there, So many things to see that I’m not sure what route to take for my two-week trip at the end of February. I initially thought about spending a few days in Chiang Mai and then heading down to Koh Samui and Koh Tao, but the travel time is long, and the flight from Chiang Mai to Koh Samui is really expensive. So, I’m looking for an alternative after Bangkok while keeping Koh Samui and Koh Tao. Maybe this itinerary, but I’d love your thoughts: Day 1-3: Bangkok (3 days) Day 4-5: Kanchanaburi (2 days) Day 6: Transit Bangkok → Koh Samui Day 7-9: Koh Samui (3 days) Day 10-12: Koh Tao (3 days) Day 13: Return to Bangkok

we have flights with Swiss and Lufthansa for January; our flights are still in our booking file. But after reading that the Cambodian ambassador in Paris advised against transiting through Bangkok (which is our case), I reached out to the airlines to potentially change our ticket via Singapore. However, both companies have canceled all flights to Cambodia, regardless of the day or airport. We’ll have our contact on the ground call us on Monday to figure out what to do, especially since no insurance covers war, conflict, etc. If anyone else is in the same situation with an upcoming departure, we can exchange tips

Yesterday, I checked the Thailand forum to see if there were any questions to answer, but not much was happening—it was pretty quiet. Then I scrolled through the Southeast Asia section and realized that, even though Burma (Myanmar) was included, there weren’t many posts about it... I’ve only been there once, back in 1987, so it’s hard to create a photo thread about multiple trips like I sometimes do for Thailand. Still, that one trip was packed with unusual adventures, so I thought I’d share a few stories from it.

Since I didn’t take any notes at the time, this is all from memory—it’s not an exhaustive travel journal and isn’t meant to help plan a future trip to Myanmar.

Don’t expect photos; there won’t be any. I have some, but they’re slides that would need scanning and editing one by one to fix the wear and tear of time—way too much work.

The Context.

Back then (reminder: 1987), I was volunteering in Paris at the counter of a travel agency on Rue des Écoles. The agency was part of a well-known organization based in Mulhouse that mostly offered scheduled flights to Asia, charter flights to the Mediterranean, and flights to Mali with their own plane. They also had a few rare "roots"-style trips to certain destinations—trips where you didn’t bring your tennis racket but were ready to soak in everything, even if it meant tough conditions.

I’d already been to Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines in Asia. The director knew this, so he asked me to accompany a group to Burma. At the time, tours to Burma were already being sold by competitors, but they all had to go through the state-run agency, Touristburma (buses and hotels for tourists, and they only showed you what they wanted you to see—kind of like traveling in North Korea today). The service was only payable in dollars at the official exchange rate (which was six times worse than the black market rate, mind you...), and since it went through the state agency, all the money ended up with the junta.

My job was to do everything *without* going through Touristburma, which was completely illegal there. Nothing would be booked in advance. Back then, the Burmese visa was only valid for 8 days/7 nights, and since clients were paying for the experience, the itinerary was planned ahead. I’d have to find transport and a guide on the black market as soon as I arrived.

The clients weren’t misled—they knew from the start that the trip would be off the books, that officially we’d be a small group of friends (not an agency), unlike the truth (Touristburma wasn’t mandatory for individual travelers), and that it would be challenging. They also knew their trip would cost 3-4 times less while giving them a much better experience of Burma. As for pretending to be a group of friends, there were only six of us, so it worked out.

To cover all expenses (accommodation, transport, excursions), the agency gave me a sufficient budget. They also gave me the *same* budget a second time, which was strictly for bribing officials who might cause trouble, for backshish (tips), and, if needed, to "help" me get out of prison.

Before I left, I was thoroughly briefed by another guy who’d led the previous trip (he’d dealt with all the initial challenges). He explained everything I needed to know, what to watch out for, and advised me on what to bring as "gifts" (samples of well-known perfumes, specific cigarette and whisky brands, etc.). For the perfume samples, I rallied my family, friends, and even stores. For the rest, I’d pick things up at the duty-free shops in Don Muang (Bangkok’s only airport at the time)—I had the budget for it.
