We would like to give you the exact situation as some media may give some wrong information. That true we do have some seismic activity from Gunung
Agung. The Indonesian raised the level to the maximum alert on September 22 at 21h30 (local time) which mean that the Gunung
Agung can explode at any time. The evacuation signal have already been done,
Amed is not part of them. The last activity on Gunung
Agung, on September 22, we do feel several earthquakes, about 20 that you can really feel, that the reason why the Indonesian Government decide to raised the alert level. Today that almost normal we only felt 2 earthquake (very light one).
Amed is considered as a safe zone by the Indonesian Government as the lava will not be able to arrive until here. And we are far from the crater about 15km.
Amed is welcoming about 1 500 Refugees from villagers living on
Agung (50 000 persons has been evacuated from their home) The guests which are staying with us, consider that themselves as safe and they are not reducing the duration of their stay. If you still wish to cancel your stay with us, we are doing it free of charge.
