Bonjour, je souhaite effectuer un Geneve Cotonou en Avril avec Afriqiyah Airways via Tripoli .
Le tarif défie toute concurrence 400euros aller retour .
Qu'avez vous pensé de cette compagnie (hormis le traitement des bagages qui avait laissé quelques mauvais souvenirs sur ce forum en aout dernier )

Fais attention pour ton passeport : une nouvelle loi lybienne mise en place du jour au lendemain sans aucune annonce préalable a entrainé le refoulement de passagers arrivant à Tripoli et interdisant à d'autres la sortie du territoire, au pretexte que le passeport DEVAIT etre écrit en arabe !
Donc attention avant de passer par Tripoli... ils seraient bien capable de ressortir d'autres "surprises" de ce genre !!

Faux sur toute la ligne 1- Traduction en arabe du passeport a tjrs été demandée, avec bien d'autres choses, pour avoir son visa au services consulaires de l'Ambassade (voir sujet en rubrique doc administratifs ou de + en + de témoignages le confirment) contrairement a ce que disent TO/AGV la verité etant plutot qu'il a été mis fin a de petits arrangements pour rentrer en Libye avec visa a l'arrivée. 2 - La Libye especte les reglements de l'aviation civile (IATA entre autre) en matiere de transit c'est a dire: durée limité ( 24h ) ne pas sortir de la zone internationale de transit et donc ne pas changer d'aéroport, avoir une resa ferme sur vol en correspondance, conditions qui doivent être les mêmes que dans une bonne centaine de pays de par le Monde ** pour le transit, et dans ce cas PAS de visa donc pas de passeport a traduire mais bien sur si tu souhaite aller acheter des cigarettes en ville ou faire Tripoli by night ... la il te faudra un visa (a priori pour 72 h formalités réduites via la Cie) De toute façon les Cies aeriennes et AGV ont au travers de la base de donnée IATA / Timatic les infos mise a jour et ce sont a elle de confirmer. Je precise mais tu le sais j'ai fait CDG/TIP/OUA/TIO/CDG avec Afriqiyah.
* * transposé a la France un Beninois qui fait Cotonou/Madagascar via AF n'aura pas beson de visa transit français (Shengen) tous les vols a CDG mais si il fait via AF + CRL pour secteur France/Mada il lui en faudra un car chgt aéroport à Paris AF=CDG CRL=ORY

Si la traduction arabe etait exigée, il est étonnant que des compagnies aériennes serieuses laissaient partir leurs passagers sans.

Attention si Internet est un moyen d'information fantastique, il est aussi un moyen de desinformation, tu crois que les TO vont allez crier haut et fort ... "ah bah oui on c'était arrangé" le cas le plus criant est celui d'un charter sur Sabbah, AP ouvert qu'aux charters touristes en trafic intl.

De toute façon pour répondre a la question initiale de mathieu sur un CDG/TIP/COO, le problème ne se pose pas il sera en transit de +/- 2h a TIP, par contre on pourrait lui interdire de partir si il n'a pas le visa beninois ... quoi que il est possible de l'avoir sur place ! mais moi je lui recommande de l'avoir.

J'aurais 2 heures environ aller et retour pour la correspondance à Tripoli, est ce suffisant?
J'aimerais bien avoir des temoignages de passagers ayant utilisé Afriqiyah

Aprés avoir longtemps hésité, voici mon avis et constatation a la date de mars 2010 sur cette compagnie :
Avions trés récents et bien équipés (airbus 330 puis 320 dernière génération)
Plateau repas trés correct
Tarif bas....
Ceci a destination de Paris Tripoli Bamako (escale commerciale et non technique comme dit !) Ouaga...
Tout le reste est NEGATIF !! et je dois revenir prochainement par cette même compagnie qui, a l'aller :
- 1 h30 de retard, demandant d'être présent 3 h avant le décollage ce qui oblige a prendre une chambre a Roissy si on vient de province...
- escale de 3 h a Tripoli dans une ambiance glauque et toilettes sales
- arrivée vers 2 h du mat a Ouaga dans la nuit du vendredi au samedi au lieu de 0h 25 prévu et les bagages qui sortent de l'avion sont ceux du vol du ... mardi ! Obligation de rester a Ouaga (donc frais et soucis)...
J'ai récupéré mon sac le lendemeain dans la nuit, heureux...
Mon retour, avec divers choses de valeur, est remis en question et d'autre part Afriqiyah refuse la confirmation par tél., donc je serai a Ouaga 72 ou 48 h avant...
L'addition risque d'être plus lourde que par la Ram...

Moi à ta place j'éviterai une escale en libye! et afriqiyah n'a pas bonne réputation sur le sol de cdg.
Tu n'as pas la RAM via casablanca de genève? c'est pas trop mal il me semble! Sinon tu as toujours la solution AF via cdg mais sa doit etre le double car les vols vers cotonou sont toujours full. (à moins du promo??)

en même temps AF est la seule compagnie européenne à faire des vols vers le petit aéroport de Cotonou, donc leur A340 qui fait le vol ne désemplit pas.
Après je ne connais ni la RAM ni Afriqyiah, mais si le prix est largement en dessous d'AF ça vaut sûrement le coup

Pourquoi pas escale à Bagdad ou N'jamena? sans compter la durée du trajet. Il faut avoir le temps!
en avril avec la RAM : GVA-CAS-COO =>810€ (8h d'escale à casablanca et arrivée à COO à 2h55 du matin. environ 15heures de voyage en 737) avec AF : GVA-CDG-COO=>940€ (2h30 d'escale à CDG et arrivée à 19h à COO. environ 10h de voyage en 321 puis 340)
En gros plus le service est important (rapidité/qualité/horaire) plus tu paye cher !😉

Sachant que la Lybie vient de faire des menaces envers l'Union Européene pour refus de délivrances de visas Schengen, et que deux citoyens Suisses ont été retenus de long mois en otage du simple fait de leur nationalité, dont un est toujours en détention en Lybie, le transit via la Lybie est un peu risqué !

C'est vrai qu'aller au Bénin pour des vacances ne doit pas être terrible, même si c'est toujours mieux que le Nigeria voisin. J'ai pris COO/CDG en A340AF en janvier dernier, je n'ai aucune idée du prix que ça a coûté et j'imagine qu'Afriqyiah aurait été moins cher.

A ne pas manquer Dimanche à 17H et 20H30 sur la France 5 un reportage de 52 minutes sur Paris Beauvais Tillé .
Les pax, les cies low costs qui s'y posent , les turn around de 20mn ...

Comme dans la quasi totalité des pays sauf USA entre autre le transit a Tripoli ne te fais pas mettre un pied en Lybie tu ne verras personne d'autre que des agents de la Cie Afriqiyah, assez efficaces par ailleurs malgré les conditions car oui transit a Tripoli un peu sinistre (vieil aeroport) et si tu es bloqué le cie te prendra en charge ! ... maintenant tout le reste est du domaine des convictions autres qu'aeronautiques

Certes, néanmoins la stabilité politique d'un pays de transit, et le risque d'être retenu en otage suite à un enjeu géopolitique est aussi à prendre en considération.
Les deux ressortissants en questions, dont celui toujours retenu dans des goeles Lybiennes, ne faisaient que travailler dans ce pays, ce n'étaient pas des politiciens.
Mais si tu veux cautionner ce régime en volant toujours sur cette compagnie, libre à toi ! Ne viens pas pleurer si jamais tu ne peux pas en sortir... comme c'est arrivé il y a quelques mois d'ailleurs !

Moi perso je n'aurais aucune crainte de transiter par Tripoli .
Je ne vois pas bien ce que je peux risquer en zone internationale .
Meme visiter Tripoli n'est pas lpus dangeureux qu'ailleurs d'après les retourS de touristes sur des forums comme le routard .

Since it came into force, Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and Council, which defines air passenger rights, has faced fierce resistance from airlines, backed by IATA (the association representing almost all passenger airlines).
Beyond the airlines' often abusive—and even frequently bad-faith—resistance to passenger rights, IATA has been lobbying EU institutions for years, with the Council paying close attention for a long time.
As a result, the Council and the Commission have been proposing revisions to Regulation 261/2004 for years that are particularly unfavorable to passengers. The latest attempt nearly eliminated the right to compensation for delays of 3 hours or more upon arrival at the final destination.
However, since this is a regulation of both the European Parliament AND the Council, the two bodies had to agree.
But the European Parliament has always stood firm, consistently responding that passenger rights must be preserved.
After 11 years of struggle, it seems likely that we’re finally nearing the end of the match between the European Commission, the Council (the 27 heads of state or government), and the European Parliament.

This is very different from the current situation, where, under the KLM ruling, any airline operating a segment of the flight is liable for compensation. This promises more disputes that the Court of Justice of the European Union will have to resolve if two separate airlines operating segments of a connecting flight are both responsible for the delay. It must also declare what "reasonable measures" were taken to mitigate the issue. This is, of course, a huge change in the regulation, with the clear goal of preventing airlines from declaring just anything as "extraordinary circumstances" to avoid compensation. - If, within 3 hours of a last-minute canceled or delayed flight, the airline hasn’t offered re-routing under comparable transport conditions and as soon as possible—whether on one of its own flights or another airline’s—the passenger will have the right to arrange their own re-routing and demand a refund for the new ticket, up to 400% of the original ticket price. Note: This can’t be used to replace one passenger with another—just to correct a typo, e.g., Dupont instead of Dpont. - Airlines’ websites and apps must include information on how to file a claim.

It remains to be seen whether this text will be definitively adopted on July 7, 2026, as is very likely, and, more importantly, whether IATA will encourage airlines to loyally respect these new rules or persist in their old habits.

Beyond the airlines' often abusive—and even frequently bad-faith—resistance to passenger rights, IATA has been lobbying EU institutions for years, with the Council paying close attention for a long time.

As of January 1, 2026, all foreign nationals traveling to Georgia for tourism purposes will be required to present valid travel health insurance. Guests who fail to provide the relevant health insurance will not be accepted on our flights to Georgia. Sincerely, Pegasus Airlines
In other words, if you don’t show proof of travel health insurance, you’ll be denied boarding. Personally, my credit card insurance has always been enough for me, and I’d rather not take out extra coverage... Have any of you run into this issue before? If not, what do you think? Of course, there’s huge pressure from European agencies, which are forced to disrupt their plans or even cancel trips because of this. Personally, I’ve got a trip planned for February 2026 to the southern parks in Tanzania, so I’ll be keeping an eye on how this develops. Do any of you have updates? Thanks!

Before, they used to prioritize major airlines, but now it’s small airlines from small countries—companies with terrible ratings and borderline safety concerns. I even just noticed this note for a Tanzania trip: "We inform you that the domestic flight segment in Tanzania included in your trip is operated by an airline listed on the European Union’s list of air carriers subject to an operating ban within the European Union. This ban only applies to European Union airspace, meaning this airline is not permitted to take off, land, or fly over European airspace. However, this airline is authorized to operate in Tanzania."

We need assistance for check-in and boarding/disembarking (my husband is a mobility-impaired traveler who uses a cane and/or a walker). We’ve done a cruise return from Dubai to Paris CDG before in 2016, with a layover in Istanbul, but we booked the transfer and return flight with COSTA. For our current plan, it would be with Celestyal, which doesn’t offer round-trip flights from Paris to Dubai. Should we book very far in advance, or is a few months before departure enough (4/6 months)? We’re thinking of arriving the day before the ship departs, so we’d need to stay overnight in Dubai—either on the way there or for the return flight, depending on the flight schedules. Could you recommend a hotel not too far from the airport, and how to get to the port from the airport?

The problem is that the smallest suitcase I have (which is supposed to be designed specifically for cabin size standards, according to the manual) has the following dimensions: 55x37x21, so it's just 1 cm over (wheels included) on one of the measurements.
I wasn’t too worried at first, but I’ve read dozens of stories about people’s misadventures and the hassles they’ve had with RyanAir.
Since I don’t want my suitcase to end up in the hold (that would waste time picking it up when I’m already arriving late and need to get to the city center), nor do I want to pay an extra fee (apparently 50 €) for the outbound and return flights for just 1 centimeter—especially since I paid for the "priority+" option and I’m not exactly rolling in money—I’d love some advice.
Have any of you been in the same situation? I’ve read that with this airline, they check bags in templates (testing them in different positions) and are completely uncompromising. I tried contacting customer service, who, as luck would have it, "don’t handle this kind of request," and a rep I spoke to wasn’t much help.

Just to clarify, since I’m going for 8 days, I can’t just take one bag for my stuff. I’ve done that for shorter trips before, and it was a hassle—I even had to buy an extra bag for the return trip... Luckily, the inspector was nice about it!

Just to clarify, since I’m going for 8 days, I can’t just take one bag for my stuff. I’ve done that for shorter trips before, and it was a hassle—I even had to buy an extra bag for the return trip... Luckily, the inspector was nice about it!

I’d like to return to Uzbekistan next April for 10 days with my husband to visit our son who lives there. We went last July and I bought the flight tickets (direct flight from Paris on Uzbekistan Airways) about 2 months in advance at very reasonable prices. I’ve been checking for late April for a few weeks now, and the tickets are much more expensive and keep rising. I can’t figure out if the prices are going up because it’s still a bit too early to buy and they’ll likely drop if the planes aren’t full, or if it’s because the period is actually in high demand. For reference, last year I bought my son’s ticket on May 30th for a departure on June 3rd—just 3 days later—at a very low price that didn’t budge at all.
Just in case, does anyone know the pricing trends for this airline and can advise me? Should I wait or not?

My wife bought a flight ticket (Lucky Air) under her Thai maiden name and was issued a Chinese visa on her new Thai passport but with her French married name (due to administrative requirements). She was denied boarding by the airline in Bangkok for the flight to Kunming—resulting in the loss of our round-trip flight tickets, including mine since we were traveling together—despite presenting both passports at the airline counter at the same time.

Way cheaper than Air France, for example.
That said, the reviews I’ve seen online aren’t great.

I can't seem to find flights between the Cape Verde islands on the airline's website. No matter the date or route, I always get the same response: "no flights on this date." See the photo. Would anyone have an explanation? Surely not all flights are fully booked in July?

Has anyone managed to get a refund from Oman Air?
After a delayed flight, we missed our connecting flight to get home!! At midnight, the flight attendant booked us on a flight to Nice via Munich, even though we were in Munich and wanted to get back to Nice... Too tired from the trip, we didn’t notice the mistake!! The next day, of course, the booking wasn’t valid!! We had to pay again for the flight back to Nice... I’m really struggling!! I think they’re giving me the runaround!! I’ve sent several emails, tried Messenger and WhatsApp, but the only responses I get are: "We need to investigate!! We’ll get back to you in 15 days!!" It’s been over a month!!
I just sent a registered letter (LRAR) to their office at Paris Charles de Gaulle, which is still open!!
Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Sri Lanka has announced it could run out of fuel in the coming weeks if the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked. The government has implemented a mandatory four-day workweek to save oil, and there are long lines at gas stations due to fears of an early shortage.
In Vietnam, the government has warned all airlines that flights will need to be reduced due to a lack of kerosene. The country imports two-thirds of its jet fuel from China and Thailand, but both countries have now banned exports out of fear of domestic shortages.
The state is asking airlines to plan ahead and park aircraft to drastically reduce operations, starting with domestic flights and then international ones. International carriers will also need to cut back on their rotations.
This will begin in the coming days. 🙁

First question: Will my checked baggage be transferred automatically? I have a single ticket from KTI to YUL (Air Canada ticket—KTI-ICN operated by Asiana (codeshare) and ICN-YUL by Air Canada).
Second question: I saw it’s possible to join free guided tours (Airport Transit Tour). What do you think of this kind of service? And is my "actual" layover time (accounting for security checks, check-in, etc.) enough to do one of these tours?

I'm heading to Namibia next May. I'm planning to take a first flight from Paris to Johannesburg with Air France, departing at 11:20 PM and arriving at 11:05 AM in Johannesburg. Then a second flight from Johannesburg to Windhoek at 3:25 PM with South African Airways.
Four hours between the two flights seems enough to catch my connection, but a friend told me I should maybe take the 5:30 PM flight instead because I need to go through immigration, collect my luggage, and check in again. Apparently, I have to do this because I bought the two tickets separately (it's actually much cheaper).
What do you think?
Also, in terms of South African airlines, which one do you think is the most reliable between South African Airways and Airlink?

Now, onto the topic :)
We’re a family of four traveling together to Seoul, with two separate bookings.
Our original itinerary was: Madrid → Doha → Seoul (March 23–24)
The issue is that our entire outbound flight was canceled, and the airline simply rescheduled the Madrid → Doha leg. Now we’re left with an incomplete journey, with no solution to reach our final destination (Seoul).
Since then:
- Can’t modify flights online (technical error every time) - Can’t get help via chat or WhatsApp - Phone support is unreachable, and the usual French number isn’t working right now
We don’t want a refund. We just want to be rerouted to Seoul, as our original ticket promised.
We’re flexible:
- On dates (we can leave on March 21 or 22 instead of the 23rd) - On the itinerary (different layovers if needed)
Have any of you dealt with this before? Do you know how to unlock a booking in this case or get a rerouting? We’re considering going straight to the airport to resolve it at the Qatar Airways counter....

We just received an email from Volotea saying our flight time has changed (by more than 2 hours).
The email states "you can request a free date change."
If I change the date, will the flight price stay the same as the original price, or will I have to pay the difference?
Specifically: Our flight on the 7th is 46.25 €, and the one on the 8th is 92.51 €. If we switch to the 8th, how much will we pay?
When I request the date change to the 8th, it says "No additional fees."
