Bonjour! Je serai de passage à Zurich, puis à Interlaken pour deux jours en mai. Nous devons ensuite nous rendre rapidement à Rome car notre vol partira de là! Quels sont les moyens de transports que nous pourrions envisager? Existe-t-il des sites de covoiturage ou quelque chose comme cela :)
Nous arrivons à Zurich le 6 mai, on part le 10 en matinée pour Interlaken afin d'y passer la journée et le lendemain (à peu près).
Nous repartirons donc de Interlaken le 12 très tôt ou tard le 11. Notre vol est le 13 mai à 11h20 ou le 14 mai vers 6h, nous n'avons pas encore décidé :) (Vol vers Montréal, il faut donc être là 3h d'avance). Si notre trajet passe par Milan, nous y ferions un arrêt rapide, sinon, on laisse tomber :)
Selon le site des trains suisses, départ d'Interlaken à 14 h, arrivée à Roma Termini à 21 h, en changeant 3 fois de train et avec le risque de rater le Milan-Rome s'il y a des retards au passage du tunnel du Simplon (fréquent)... 😛
Le lendemain, train ou bus pour l'aéroport de Fiumicino...
Pour le 14h, ce serait plutôt 8h30, mais je viens de regarder pour la location d'une voiture entre Milan et Rome qui serait abordable, hmmm. Le côté pas pratique de devoir faire un itinéraire en rond!
D'Interlaken à Milan, il y a trois horaires qui ne demandent de changer qu'une fois de train: à 7h29, 13h29 et 18h30. Il faut compter 3h11 de trajet.
De Milan à Rome, il y a plusieurs trains directs (env. 3h) par heure. Par contre, il n'est pas possible d'arriver avant 9h le matin en gare de Rome: pas très pratique pour votre vol du 13 mai à 11h20. Si vous prenez le vol du 14 mai, sachez que le dernier train direct quitte Milan à 20h20 et arrive à Rome à 23h40. De quoi faire la sieste quelques heures à l'aéroport... 😏

J'ai regardé tout à l'heure pour la swiss travel pass, mais je n'était pas certaine de ce qu'elle me permettait de faire!
Nous avons pensé louer une voiture à Milan et la ramener à Rome. Pas donné, compte tenu du fait qu'il y a des frais d'allé simple (et qu'on devra apprendre à conduire manuel, visiblement). Nous sommes habitués et on aime faire de longues routes en voiture et ça nous permettrait d'arrêter voir la tour de Pise que mon copain voulait tant voir et de profiter d'avantage de la fin de notre voyage, en se permettant des arrêts dans de beaux endroits. J'ai déjà calculé qu'on acceptait cette dépense supplémentaire!
Je dois maintenant trouver un train qui part de Zurich ou de Interlaken, tout dépendant du moyen que je trouve pour me rendre à Interlaken même (Rien trouvé d'abordable, même le prix de la location de voiture, divisée en deux, valait plus la peine, si on la ramène à Zurich!)
À part cela, je dois toujours trouver un moyen de passer de Corfou en Grèce à Athènes, de où nous partons pour la Suisse. Je pense opter pour un vol interne, pour ça, mais ça nous en fera deux avec celui-là, je ne voudrais pas en ajouter un 3e :/
En gros, ça a l'air terrible, mais je dois juste arriver à me déplacer en Suisse et de la Suisse à l'Italie, ce qui ne devrait pas être sorcier ^^
D'ailleurs, pourquoi rester quatre jours à Zurich? Vous avez des amis là-bas? A mon avis, un ou deux jours suffisent. Ca vous laisserait plus de temps dans la région d'Interlaken. Ou alors, vous pourriez faire une halte à Brig, sur le chemin de l'Italie, et monter voir le glacier d'Aletsch.
On a effectivement un hébergement à Zurich, ce qui nous facilite la tâche ;) Je vais vérifier cela avec les autres infos qui m'ont été données et votre conseil! Il me resterait à trouver comment me rendre à Interlaken et peut-être même à l'autre endroit dont vous me parlez!
J'aimerais bien en savoir plus sur la SwissTravelPass. Me permet-elle de voyager seulement à l'interne de la suisse ou je peux sortir à partir de là aussi?
Le Swiss Travel Pass n'est valable qu'en Suisse, mais si tu prends un train international (Interlaken-Milan, par exemple), tu ne paieras ton billet qu'à partir de la frontière (et c'est bien moins cher en Italie!).
Pour les moins de 26 ans, le STP coûte 179 francs pour trois jours consécutifs, 213 francs pour quatre jours consécutifs, 309 francs pour huit jours consécutifs.
Avec le STP Flex, tu paies 203 francs pour trois jours non consécutifs (dans un mois).
Le Pass te permet d'utiliser quasiment tous les bus, trains et bateaux de Suisse (parmi les exceptions, il y a la fameuse montée vers le Jungfraujoch, près d'Interlaken: c'est une ligne privée et le STP n'offre qu'un rabais de 25%...).
Si tu comptes beaucoup bouger autour de Zurich et Interlaken (prendre le bateau, des bus, etc.), il vaut peut-être la peine de prendre le STP de 8 jours. Mais je ne suis pas sûr que tu parviennes à l'amortir.
Si vous vous déplacez surtout lors de vos trajets interurbains (Zurich-Interlaken, Interlaken-Brig, Brig-frontière-Milan), alors le STP Flex de trois jours pourrait convenir.
Bien sûr, il est toujours possible d'acheter les billets à l'unité! Par exemple, le trajet Zurich-Interlaken coûte 69 francs et Interlaken-Brig 45 francs. Les CFF proposent aussi des billets dégriffés et donc moins cher. Par contre, il faut faire preuve de souplesse concernant les horaires...
Dernière petite question si ça ne vous dérange pas trop : Pendant que nous seront à Zurich, nous avons pensé partir une journée à Lucerne. Les billets allez-retour sont abordables (dégriffés)

En utilisant le comparateur Carigami, je trouve des locations de voiture pour 103$ à la journée à partir de Zurich... C'est encore cher, mais moins que le tarif que vous m'indiquez. 😉 Pour aller à Lucerne (bon choix!), cela dit, autant prendre le train. A moins que vous vouliez vous balader un peu autour du très beau Lac des Quatre Cantons.
Pour les billets dégriffés et les conseils touristiques (région zurichoise), je suis loin d'être un spécialiste. Je connais beaucoup mieux la Suisse romande et la partie alpine du pays. 😏 Mais je pourrais conseiller les chutes du Rhin ou la région d'Appenzell.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?
- Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.
