Bon voilà, le voyage approche à grands pas (vraiment hâte d'y être!!!) 😎😎😎.
Je pars avec une amie du 16nov au 10déc.
Nous avons choisi de nous "restreindre" aux merveilles du Nord Ouest Argentin et de ne pas nous étendre au delà des frontières argentines, comme nous voulions au départ.
Je vais vous faire part, avant toute chose, de notre périple argentin:
17/18 Nov : Arrivée sur BA et visite de la ville.
Bus de nuit vers Puerto Iguazu
19 Nov : Iguazu coté Argentin.
20 Nov: Matinée Iguazu coté Brezil. 14H20 depart en le Bus pour San Ignacio.
Nuit à San Ignacio.
21 Nov : Matinée à San Ignacio. Aprem départ en Bus pour Salta (Nuit dans le Bus).
22 Nov : Visite de Salta
23 Nov : Location de Véhicule pour la visite de Colorados/Cardones/Cachi/Molinos/Angastaco/Cafayate.
24 Nov : Cafayate/Quilmes/Cafayete/Salta/San Juan de Jujuy
25 Nov : Purmamarca/Salinas Grandes/San Antonio de Los Cobres/ Salta (on rend la voiture)
Nuit à Salta.
26/27/28 Nov : excursion pour trois jours à Tolar Grande avec Oneromworldtravel
29 Nov :laguna brava (mais je viens d'envoyer un message à runacay donc je n'ai pas encore les infos concernant le nombre de jours de cette excursion).
j'aimerai aussi ajouter les deux parcs Talampaya et Ischigualasco.
Et pourquoi pas passer encore un peu de temps dans cette partie de l'Argentine pour faire le trek "crater de la corona del Inca"
je passe quelques jours puisque je ne me suis pas encore organisée.
05/06 Dec : Mendoza (où je retrouve une famille que j'avais rencontré lors de mon voyage au Pérou, on avait partagé le "trek de l'Inca" 🙂 ). Trek prévu avec la famille que je connais et visite de vignoble et de caves (hummmmm du bon vin Argentin😛)
07/08/09/10 Dec : Buenos Aires avec journée visites/shopping 🙂😊 (eh oui je reste une femme et j'adore ça malgré mon coté routard).
Je voulais avoir quelques conseils concernant la préparation du sac. J'ai vu qu'apparemment, nous allons subir un traumatisme climatique avec Paris, mais pour ce qui est des températures en montagne, fait-il froid la nuit? dois-je prendre mon sac de couchage -10° ?
Pour ce qui est de l'hébergement, nous irons au maximum en auberge de jeunesse.
Est ce que mon voyage vous parait un peu trop rempli??
des conseils sur les lieux à éviter? à privilégier?
Pour les moustiques, est ce utile de traiter les vêtements? prendre des produits pour pays exotiques? (j'avais du en prendre lors de mon voyage au Pérou à Puerto Maldonado).

La partie avec la voiture de location à Salta et Jujuy me semble assez serrée, je l'ai faite en une semaine, mais je voyagais en bus, il y a pas mal de choses à voire et je sais pas si vous allez pas être frustrée de passez tout votre temps dans la voiture... sinon ça semble faisable.
Pour les moustiques avec un bon "off" y a pas de problème normalement, mais bon ils semble que le primtemps soit très humide donc il risque d'y en avoir pas mal...
Pour ce qui est du sac de couchage il est toujours plus agréable d'avoir trop chaud plutôt que froid.. je me rapelle pas exactement les température à jujuy en altitude mais en tout cas a Atacama il fait proche de 0 degré la nuit même en été... Sinon la journée il fait chaud dans ces régions à cette saison (facilement 30 degrés).
Attention! Dans les stations de bus il y a souvent des personnes qui vous propose des logement (que se soit auberges ou b&b) toujours négocier le prix et ne pas se gener de faire remarquer si ça ne correspond pas a la description qu'il vous on fait.
Partez toujours du principes que les gens veulent vous tordre, malheureusement beaucoup de personne en voyant des touristes veulent profitez. Ex: on vous dit que le prix que le taxi affiche est en dollars....etc..
je prends note des conseils que vous m'avez donné.
Je vais prendre le sac de couchage le plus chaud que j'ai, d'autant plus qu'il est assez petit.
qui dit tourisme, dit arnaque, mais c'est humain, ils ont peu d'argent et en nous voyant, ils pensent que si on voyage c'est que nous sommes riches.
Pour le parcours dans la région de Salta, il est vrai que c'est serré mais j'ai une marge de 4jours en fin de voyage pour BA, donc au pire, on peut toujours étendre, suite à des mésaventures ou des petites péripéties imprévues 😉
Je vais réserver trois excursions par des agences "tolar grande" , "laguna brava" et les deux parcs Ischigualasto et Talampaya .
De ce fait nous serons pressées par ces excursions là, nous devrions être dans telle ville pour tel jour.

Bjr Melanie. Votre programme est très chargé, notamment les journées 23,24,25 nov:vous allez passer votre tps dans la voiture. Puisque vous allez à Tolar et que vous passerez donc par San Antonio pour aller à Tolar, pourquoi après la montée aux Salinas Grandes ne pas redescendre par la même route vers Purmamarca ? La route est très belle aussi dans le sens de la descente avec la lumière de l'après-midi, et goudronnée, moins fatiguant que Salinas/San Antonio/Salta qui a une portion dans la Quebrada del Toro qui devient vite délicate qd il pleut.
Pour Laguna Brava, si vous revenez le 28 de Tolar, impossible d'y être le 29. Mais je vois que vs avez qq jours de battement, donc vs aurez le tps de vs faire un pt programme dans la région de la Rioja. Laguna Brava vous prendra une journée à full.
Tu n'as pas besoin de sac de couchage -10°. Apparement tu auras besoin du duvet seulement lors du trek avec tes amis ?
A Tolar, Onerom vous hebergera soit en famille, soit au refuge, très bien chauffé.

Il y a des journées que je trouve très chargées et limite difficile à réaliser.
Par exemple, le 20 novembre, à moins d'aller du côté brésilien avec un taxi et de lui demander de vous attendre pendant les 2/3 heures où vous serez sur site.
Idem pour le jours autour de Salta comme le 24.

Je pars du principe que dans un voyage il y a toujours des imprévus.
Donc c'est plus ou moins une trame.
Par contre, je ne sais pas du tout, et peut etre que vous allez pouvoir me conseiller sur cela, mais je me demandais si je devais absoluement réserver avant de partir tolar grande, les deux parcs et laguna brava. Je pense que tolar grande et laguna brava, il est préférable de réserver.
pour la laguna brava je prendrai un jour supplémentaire alors donc ca sera le 30.

J'ai lu sur le forum qu'apparemment il y avait un bus pour repartir du coté brésilien à 14h20, mais comme je ne peux consulter depuis la france les agences de bus pour savoir les horaires, je dis "advienne que pourra" et nous verrons bien en temps et en heure.
Effectivement le programme est chargé mais possible puisque j'ai construit mon voyage à partir du voyage de chrissand.
Donc si je compte environ 1 heure pour rejoindre le terminal de Puerto Iguazu (passage de frontière) vous devriez pouvoir prendre le bus à 15h30 ou 16h30 pour 4h à 4h30 de trajet. J'avais compris qeu vous envisagiez de repartir de PI à 14h30.

Le pb avec tolar grande, les deux parcs et laguna brava, c est que ce sont des excursions budgétées sur la base de 4 participants et qui ne partent pas tous les jours...A moins de payer les places pour les 4 passagers si il n'y a pas 4 passagers d'inscrits le jour J, vous n´allez pas forcement partir le jour voulu. Avez vous déjà pris contact avec Margarita de Onerom pour ces dates de nov dont vous parlez ds le programme ?

On a un blog mais ce n'est pas un blog de retour de voyage puisque j'habite ici en Argentine, à Salta. Mais il n'est pas actualisé. Nous avons des tas d'infos à rentrer qui manquent...comme nous manque le tps pour le faire...Demandez moi qd vous avez besoin de qqch plutot.
Il n'est pas évident que vous puissiez faire San Ignacio/Salta dans l'AM et la nuit. Voyez votre correspondance à Resistencia, les bus Resistencia-Salta sont généralement de nuit, il faudra arriver à Resitencia avant leurs départs.
Les bus venant d'iguazu et direct à Salta sont peu nombreux voire absents.
23 nov Un conseil, louer votre véhicule la veille pour partir trés tôt le matin. Salta/Cachi/Cafayate sera éprouvant.
24 nov : Idem partez tôt si vous voulez profiter de Quilmes, de la quebrada de Cafayate et arriver à une heure décente à San Salvador de Jujuy.
25 noc, SS de jujuy, Purmamarca, salinas grandes, san antonio de los cobres, salta dans la jounée, c'est raide....faisable mais en artant à 10 hrs du matin. A l'heure de votre arrivée à Salta, il ne sera pas évident de rendre la voiture.....Personne pour vous attendre...à voir
Je ne vois pas comment vous pourriez rentrer de Tolar Grande le 28 NOV et visiter la laguna brava le 29 nov....
Donnez donc un peu plus de souplesse sur le NOA !
Votre sac de couchage -10º ne sera pas utile.....Pas besoin de sac de couchage d'ailleurs sauf à dormir dehors !

Pour le bus, c'est faisable d'enchaîner dans la journée San Ignacio/Posadas et Posadas/Corrientés voire Resistencia, en partant en fin de matinée de San Ignacio.
Au départ de Resistencia en direction de Salta, en août dernier il y avait des bus à 18h30 et 20h50. Horaire un peu plus tôt au départ de Corrientés car c'étaient les mêmes bus. Nous avions envie de voir le centre ville de Resistencia et c'est pour cela que nous y sommes allés prendre le bus plutôt que de le prendre à Corrientés.
Je précise que ce parcours fut fait en deux étapes en allant à Mercédes.

Je suppose que lorsque tu dis "m'aider pour les résrvations", cela veut bien dire de te donner des avis, car il n'est pas possible de réserver pour toi des billets de bus car on demande le numéro de passeport ou DNI pour ceux qui voyagent.
Tu dois faire tes résrvations toi-même avec l'entreprise de Bus que tu vas prendre et tu en auras plusieurs.

bien sur, je ne veux pas que tu réserves pour moi mais le soucis c'est que lorsque je vais sur les agences de bus pour voir les trajets faisables et les horaires, ils me répondent que ma demande est indisponible. Et pourtant j'ai essayé des trajets surs, tels que BA/Puerto Iguazu.

We're planning a trip to southern Chile in November. Here's our tentative itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Santiago, then a flight the next day to Balmaceda where we'll pick up a rental car to reach Coyhaique.
Day 3: Walk in the Coyhaique National Reserve, then continue to Puerto Chacabuco. Return to Coyhaique for the second night.
Day 4: Drive to Villa Cerro Castillo for a hike in the national park. Continue to Puerto Tranquilo and stay there for 3 nights.
Day 5: Boat tour on Laguna San Rafael.
Day 6: Day trip to Monte San Valentin Glacier.
Day 7: Excursion to the Marble Chapels, then drive to Puerto Guadal. We'll stay there for 3 nights.
Day 8: Walk along Lago Carrera and return to Puerto Guadal.
Day 9: Rio Baker Valley and, if possible, a glacier excursion.
Day 10: Drive to Cochrane and hike in Tamango National Reserve. We'll stay 2 nights in Cochrane.
Day 11: Walk in the Chacabuco Valley.
Day 12: Drive to Caleta Tortel. We'll stay there for 2 nights.
Day 13: Cruise in the Rio Baker delta.
Day 14: Return to Cochrane.
Day 15: Return to Balmaceda in two stages.
Day 16: Continue the return journey.
Day 17: Return the rental car and head back to Santiago.
After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.
What do you think of this itinerary? Is it doable in 17 days?

I’ve sketched out a rough itinerary but I’m not sure how to arrange it—considering the climate, year-end holidays, and Carnival.
Basically, I’m thinking of the Amazon, the Northeast coast with Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (but skipping Chapada Diamantina),
Ouro Preto, Paraty, and Ilha Grande—but no Rio visit.
Is this doable in 3 months?

After lots of research and quotes, it’s the only one offering Uyuni at a reasonable price while meeting all the criteria: transfer to the border, private-room accommodation, and a very fair rate. Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?
In France, banks don’t issue credit cards, right—or am I mistaken?

I’m desperately looking for info on the schedules and routes of (shared) boats to visit the islands of Lake Titicaca.
From what I’ve found, there’s a *combi* (bus) that leaves from Puno to go to Llachon. Where do you catch it? What are the schedules and frequency? Does it take about 1 hour?
Then in Llachon, you can take a boat to Amantani (45 min). Same question—where do you check for frequency and schedule?
After that, from Amantani, boats go to Taquile and then Uros. Do you have enough time to visit the islands between two boats? Frequency and schedule?
The goal is to do this tour independently (no agency) over 2 days. Thanks for any tips you might have!
I just got back from a trip to Bolivia and wow—what a wake-up call. It’s not the easiest country, but it’s absolutely stunning.
I started with Isla del Sol, perfect for easing into the altitude at a relaxed pace. Try to stay in the northern part of the island—it’s quieter and the views are insane. And the trout there? Unreal. Quick tip: bring cash in small bills; they almost never have change, and cards are rarely accepted.
Next up, La Paz. The city’s pretty wild, built in every direction. I did a few hikes in the area, including the famous Charquini Lagoon (the blue lake) at over 5,000 m—let’s just say I struggled 😅 but it was so beautiful it was totally worth it.
After that, I headed to Sajama. It’s cool, especially for the hot springs, and I stayed in Tomarapi. But honestly, if you’re short on time, you can skip it without too many regrets.
The highlight of the trip: the Salar. I did it starting from Tupiza, and I *highly* recommend going Tupiza → Uyuni. Way less crowded at the start and the landscapes are super varied. For the tour, I used SplitYourGuide to find a group, and it worked out great. Super handy for splitting costs and meeting people.
I wrapped up in Sucre—this city is gorgeous, all white, with such a chill vibe. And the salteñas + ice cream? Next level 😋
Bottom line: Bolivia’s a bit rough around the edges, sometimes exhausting (shoutout to the altitude), but it’s 1000% worth it.

I was planning to go to Réunion and stay in half-board accommodation with non-professionals, but it seems that’s not really the custom there—or maybe my budget isn’t big enough.
So, since I’ve already traveled around Ecuador and Peru, I’m now looking at Argentina, especially for its mountains (like the ones in Réunion that tempted me, even though—frustratingly—I could only admire them from below).
I plan to get around by bus and don’t know in advance where I’ll sleep, so I won’t book ahead. If I like a place, I might stay for several days.
I know that in Chile, it’s easy to find half-board accommodation, but what about in Argentina?
I’d like to stay with locals in half-board without it being a professional setup. I’m not sure if this is common practice there. It’s up to me to find someone willing to host me.
What do you think?

We’re heading to Patagonia for three weeks in November, starting from Coyhaique in Chile.
We won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to find information about transportation options for a few parts of the itinerary we’d like to do:
1) From Perito Moreno (the town, near Los Antiguos), we’d like to travel down Ruta 40 to visit Perito Moreno National Park and then cross into Chile via the Paso Roballos (at the latitude of Bajo Caracoles) to reach the road to Cochrane. Without a car, it seems we’ll need to use private agencies to get to the national park—do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to cross into Chile via Paso Roballos (from Bajo Caracoles) without a rental car? That is, without having to go all the way down to El Chaltén or back up toward Perito Moreno/Los Antiguos, etc.?
2) The second stretch that seems a bit tricky (though still easier, in theory) is from Caleta Tortel to Villa O’Higgins on the Chilean side. Do we have to go back through Cochrane, or are there ways to get directly from Tortel to Villa O’Higgins?
3) Finally, we’d like to hike into Argentina (El Chaltén) from O’Higgins. Any recommendations for this? Do we need to go through an agency? What’s the estimated duration of the trek?
As you’ve probably gathered, we want to visit some off-the-beaten-path spots but don’t have a car, so we’re looking for the best possible compromises.

we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously...

we’ll be in Calama at the end of March 2026, and I’m looking for a reliable car rental there for a 7-day road trip to Salta, Argentina. But I’m struggling with the car rental agencies in Calama because the reviews can be scary. I saw Gyg, which has great ratings, but I’m a bit wary (5/5 from 59 reviews—either the guy’s amazing or it’s fake...), but I can’t find any recent reviews on VF in general.
For Punta Arenas, I booked with Dachelet and didn’t have any issues with email exchanges.

We especially love nature: hiking, wildlife watching, birds, etc.
We’re planning to wrap up with a week around Paraty and Ilha Grande.
We’re not really into visiting big cities like São Paulo or Rio unless you think we’d be missing out big time.

Three years ago during a trip to Java (no, I didn’t post in the wrong forum!), I came across the address of former miners who had switched to “tourism” and organized nighttime ascents of the Kawah Ijen volcano and descents into the crater.
So I was thinking—maybe there are miners on the salt flats too, either former or still active, who do the same thing. If you’ve had an experience like this, I’d love any tips you can share.

And is it still possible to walk all the way to Aguas Calientes? I think I read somewhere that it’s no longer allowed??
