Nous avons la chance et le grand bonheur de tenter une expatriation au Costa Rica, départ prévue pour l'automne ! Mais ma fille de 11ans est beaucoup moins enthousiaste que nous à l'idée de tout quitter, ce qui est normal de son point de vue... En ce qui concerne l'école, j'aimerais savoir ce qu'en pensent les personnes ayant mis leurs enfants au lycée Franco Costaricien(le directeur ainsi que les locaux m'ont fait une trés bonne impression).Y-a-il des villes à l'est de San José agréables pour y vivre, ce côté de la capitale est raremment abordé dans les blogs ou les guides touristiques si ce n'est Cartago bien trop loin de l'école pour nous.

nous sommes revenus il y a un an du CR où nos enfants ont été scolarisés à une école locale (à Grecia) et tout s'est très bien passé. Nous avions visité aussi "le Franco" et il nous avait fait très bonne impression, autant par le cadre que par l'accueil. L'excellent accueil s'est révélé être un trait de caractère des écoles au CR en général : vous pouvez rassurer votre fille : tout se passera bien.
Pour le logement, les environs du lycée sont très bien (vers Sabanilla par exemple). La région plus à l'est vers Cartago ne me plaît pas spécialement car il y pleut beaucoup (l'altitude augmente) et ça oblige à perdre du temps en déplacements.
En tout cas, ce sera une expérience riche que vous allez vivre, ça ne fait aucun doute !
Je ne connais pas le lycee dont tu parles mais je suis prof ds un lycee francais en Colombie. Les lycees du reseaux sont de bons lycees et tes enfants seront certainement enchantes de l'experience. c'est vraiment une chance pour eux et pour vous

Je viens juste de mettre un pied dans la grande communauté des voyageurs virtuels (et pas seulement!) et bje lis bien tard cet article... un an de retard... et nous sommes dans la même situation que vous il y a un an car notre fille entre au collège à la rentrée et nous partons fin 2008 pour le Costa Rica (pour y être avant la rentrée de février). Nous pensons nous installer vers Tres Rios mais je ne situe pas bien le lycée français? est il à San José même? comment se passe la scolarité de votre fille??? la notre est déja bilingue (elle est née au Mexique ou nous avons vécu 10 ans) mais a les même angoisses que tous les enfants de cet age qui aimeraient bien "se poser" une fois pour toutes!.... comment est la situation des locations d'appart ou maisons autour de San José (et pas trop loin du lycée français si possible..;)? y a t il des sites web ou mener l'enquete? merci pour vos réponses...

Le lycée Franco Costarricense se situe prés de Trés Rios, un endroit trés agréable ou je vis depuis bientot 3 ans, ma fille fait ses études au Franco et même si nous sommes en pleine crise, je pense que notre Lycée a un niveau excellent et les éléves qui repartent en France sont trés á l'aise. Les résultats du Bac font rêver mes amies Francaises...
La région oú se trouve le Franco est en plein develloppement et il est assez facile de trouver des maisons á des prix trés abordables, même si beaucoup d'étrangers préférent la région d'Escazu et de Santa Ana pour le climat, moi je n'aime pas ce côté Americanisé á outrance et c'est plus d'une heure de transport deux fois par jour pour se rendre au Franco...

Le coin correspond à ce que nous recherchons nous aussi (pas d'américanisation à outrance...) et j'avais peur que le lycée se trouve en pleine capitale...or, nous ne sommes pas des fanas de la ville!
Quant au logement, je pense que je vais commencer à faire quelques recherches sur internet, d'ailleurs si tu as des informations sur un site particulier pour trouver des locations, ce serait formidable, je ne sais pas bien où chercher. (désolée pour le tutoiement mais nous avons vécu 10 ans au Mexique et mon compagnon est espagnol alors on a toujours le réflexe du "tu" avant le "vous", j'espère que "voutu" ne serez pas offusquée...!!)
Nous sommes en ce moment dans un coin perdu et merveilleux des Cévennes où l'ADSL n'existe pas.... je ne peux consulter mes mails qu'une fois par semaine malheureusement, au cyber du coin, le jour du marché!!

Quand a Mada il y a un an j'y étais avec une association de Pieds Noirs, j'ai revu un très beau Pays avec de très braves gens mais un Pays transformé en misère, misère, Misère avec un grand M.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
