Bonjour, je suis une accroc à la plongée que je pratique depuis 4 ans. Je suis divemaster. Je désire voir les plus beaux sites de plongées de la thailande. Vous me recommandez quels endroits? Je désire partir soit en octobre ou novembre, est-ce une bonne idée? Aussi j'aimerais savoir si vous avez été sur des live abord, des commentaires? Les prix? De plus je désire partir seule, je suis une femme de 27 ans.

Mais ca me donne le temps de ramasser mon argent et trouver les meilleurs endroits de plongée! J'ai vu que tu as été plonger avec similian paradive, merci du tuyau je vais aller voir leur website. As-tu d'autres liveaboard a me conseiller? J'ai bien tenté d'en trouver sur google mais il ne semble pas y en avoir bcp. Est-ce mieux de reserver a l;avance ou si on peut dealer a la derniere minutes sur place? J'ai lu que c'était mieux la cote ouest, les similian, phuket et koh phiphi pour octobre novmbre, mais pour koh tao ce n'est pas un bon temps? Tu me fais rever avec le requin baleine et tout ce quon peut voir. Moi qui suis habitué a la plongée sous glace du quebec, hihihi, mais j'ai quand meme vu autre chose aussi (iles vierges, cuba, republique, floride, etc, mais la thailande ahhhh....:)😊😊

Similan paradive a un site internet , tu reserve de chez toi en payant par paypal , c est secure. pour ce qui est de negocier sur place ca depend la saison , moi en decembre tout etait pris , du coup reserver c est mieu , surtout si ton temps est compter, qqfois il y a des avion entier de japonnais qui viennent et comme les similans c est un parc national ils limitent le nombre de plongeurs... mais bon si tu y va en octobre ca doit etre bon !mais en regle generale les prix se tiennent a 300 baths pres (6euro environ je crois) j ai pas d autre nom en tete sur ce coin la , c est les seuls sur mon log book ! ne plus il m avait dit que cette annee il essayerai d organiser des live a board en birmanie ! ca donne envie aussi !
moi je prevoit pas des vacances autant en avance , je sais qu il y a un vol paris phuket direct en 11 heure a 550 euro , je vais essayer d y retourner pour janvier 2010. si c est le cas je te donnerai des infos plus precises et actualisees !!! prepare bien ton projet , et au fait t as pas penser a aller bosser la bas si tes dive master?!

Lilietroro, ça fait plusieurs fois que tu dénigres les liveaboard de Phuket dans tes post... Tu parles d'usine à touristes, mais c'est faux, nous ne sommes pas à Sharm, tu dois confondre...
D'ailleurs Similan Paradive travaille avec l'un des plus gros operateurs de Phuket, soit South Siam, puisqu'il vend leurs bateaux sur son site...
Peux tu nous citer des operateurs de Phuket qui selon toi sont "grosses usines" ?

N'importe quoi !!! Il n'y a pas de limites de plongeurs sur les iles Similans. Le parc national a bien essayé l'année derniere d'organiser une limitation, il y a eu un seminaire de deux jours en octobre 2008 entre les operateurs de croisière et les responsables du parc national, pour justement discuter d'une certaine limitation des plongeurs et autres sujets, mais cette limitation a été mise de coté, car impossible à mettre en place, il y a maintenant trop d'operateurs.

Encore une fois, tu racontes n'importe quoi... Le parc national des Similans est fermé entre mai et novembre, il y a que quelques operateurs, qui moyennant finance, peuvent commencer leur croisière à partir du 15/ 20 octobre

Les Burma Bank... bien toi qui recherche les plans pas cher, tu vas etre servie... US$ 200 pour le permis d'entrée sur les sites (c'est bien de vouloir engraisser la junte militaire) pour plonger sur des sites dynamités par les pecheurs, c'est une super recommandation !
S'il te plait, avant de poster concernant la plongée à Phuket, renseigne toi un peu plus 🙂
Si tu viens en octobre, tu ne trouveras pas de la place sur tous les bateaux, car les Similans sont ouverts aux bateaux de croisières entre novembre et mai. Certains operateurs commencent leur croisière à partir de mi octobre.
Novembre c'est pas mal, mais si tu veux voir de la faune pélagique, c'est un peu précoce, les mantas arrivent courant décembre, quant aux requins baleine, tu auras plus de chance d'en voir entre décembre et mars... Mais la mer est souvent pleine de surprises...
Sinon, l'avantage de novembre et debut decembre, c'est qu'en général les bateaux ne sont pas toujours complets.
Ensuite, la saison vient juste de commencer, et les plannings pour la saison 2011 ne seront communiqués par les operateurs qu'à partir de mars/avril 2010. Donc tu ne pourras pas réserver avant le printemps prochain.
Si tu voyages seule, il te faudra partager ta cabine, car il y a peu de bateaux qui offre des cabines single ou alors payer un supplement single pour l'occupation d'une cabine seule
Pour les tarifs, tout dépend de ce que tu recherches, bon marché, intermediaire, y'en a pour toutes les bourses...
J'ai travaillé sur pas mal de bateaux de croisières, je peux te donner des infos si tu as déjà des noms en vue...

Valithai, je vais avoir un budget modéré pour le liveabord, je veux quelque chose de confo mais je suis loin d'etre une poule de luxe :p C'Est très important pour moi par contre de pouvoir plonger nitrox. Je trouve difficile d'avoir de linfo sur les prix pour les liveabord sur leur site internet. De plus je pense seulement apporter avec moi mon ordi, masque et palmes, donc idéalement j'aimerais que le prix inclue l'équipement. Parlant d'équipement, est-ce pas pire? Est-ce qu'il y a des places que tu me déconseilles fortement (équipement désuet ou non respect des regles de sécurité?) Une autre question que je me pose, est-ce que jai de besoin dun moustiquaire contre les insectes?
Ah aussi jai oublié de spécifier que je voulais faire de la plongée de nuit, donc il faut un endroit ou ilss offrent la location de lampes :) Je suis divemaster alors jaimerais bien faire des plongées peut-etre plus recherchées, plus avancées. Et je veux des raies manta....:p
Qu'entends tu par un budget modéré? Par exemple, Pour une croisière 2J/1N il faudra que tu comptes 12000 THB/ 250€ pour 6 plongées, dont une de nuit, repas à bord, equipement et taxes des parcs nationaux inclus.
La plupart des operateurs t'annonceront un tarif, l'equipement sera à rajouté en plus, ainsi que les taxes des parcs nationaux. Quant aux equipements de plongée, ne t'attends pas à du matériel neuf, mais en général, il est en bon etat et il y a toujours des sets de secours sur les bateaux.
Pour les raies mantas, faut que tu plonges entre décembre et mars, à Koh Bon, ou Tachai.
Pas besoin de moustiquaire, à moins de vouloir dormir sur le pont 😉 Il existe de tres bons répulsifs si tu crains de te faire piquer par les moustiques.
Maintenant, si tu veux réserver pour l'année prochaine, c'est encore trop tot. La haute saison vient juste de commencer, les planning pour 2010/2011 ne seront pas communiquer avant la mi mars.
il y a plein de bateaux de croisière pour les similan, j'ai plongé en fevrier 2008 avec la compagnie : kaolak scuba adventure.
ambiance cool et safe mais nitrox "en panne" le premier des quatre jours : ça craint pour 4 plongées par jours !
je crois qu'il vaut mieux plonger coté ouest (mer andaman) entre novembre et février.
il y a plein de bons clubs et bons spots de plongées à phuket, phi phi, lanta et ko lipe.
j'ai fait 4 plongées à hin muang, au large de phi phi, avec des mantas qui nous tournaient au dessus pendant toutes la plongée : tous au bord des larmes apres la plongée. c'est 100 euros pour les 2 fois une heures de speed-boat, et les deux plongées. même un jour où il n'y a pas de gros, l'endroit n'a rien à envier au sec paté de guadeloupe ou elphinstone en égypte.
je n'ai pas eu de materiel en mauvaise état dans les 4 ou 5 clubs de thailande ou j'ai plongé.
beaucoup de femmes voyages seule , ça à l'air vraiment tranquille, 10 fois plus qu'en europe.
on se méfie un peu des touristes, mais pas des populations des petites villes cotières.
quelle compagnie propose des vols directs à 550 euros ???
le transfert aux émirats dure de 4 à 8 heures, il fait froid à cause de la clim : c'est l'enfer

I’d describe myself as a "former diver." I’ve done around 450 dives in natural environments across different settings. I put diving on hold about 5 years ago due to work/schedule constraints and, let’s say, family reasons. Since then, I’ve still tried to stay in shape with hiking trips, running, swimming, and freediving in protected environments, etc...
I’m planning to get back into the bubbles somewhere this year.

We’ll be in Dahab again this October—we’ve been going since 1979—to freedive. In 2025, to our surprise, access to the Blue Hole is now paid: on top of the 10 € taxi fare, you have to pay $10 per person to enter the park. So we’re heading outside Dahab to the Three Pools site by bike, rented locally. Is there a bus that goes there, or shared taxis, instead of the tourist taxis? And where can we catch them? We’ve seen big buses full of local families on the site, but we don’t know where to find them. Thanks in advance!

For flight schedules and prices from Bordeaux, and ease of reaching Alexandria by bus/train afterward, I’m considering spending 4 days around Hurghada (direct flight from Bdx).
I don’t think I’ll go for courses to get my Level 1, since I don’t plan to dive often in the future—unless you think it’s better than doing 2 discovery dives in this area (I only have one baptism under my belt, in Koh Tao 15 years ago—amazing! But I’m not targeting trips for diving; I need to go to Alexandria, so this is a chance to get back into diving and snorkeling).
I’m looking for a spot to do some snorkeling, 1 or 2 baptisms, and explore the surroundings. I’ll arrive in early March on the evening of Day 0. I’ll have 3.5 days after that (I’m planning to leave on Day 4 around 4 PM by bus/train).
Is Hurghada completely to be avoided in favor of another area in the Red Sea, or can I still have a nice 3.5 days there? I know places like Dahab are more pleasant, but the convenience and timing of Hurghada appeal to me...
I usually prefer more authentic travel spots and places, but I’m willing to compromise on that if it’s still worth it for the diving.
Or should I only stay 2.5 days and head to Alexandria a day earlier? (I’ve already seen Cairo and Luxor a bit.)

Compared to my buddy, I love macro photography (nudibranchs, etc.), so I’d also love any tips on that.

I’m heading to Malaysia from mid-May to mid-August 2025 for nearly 3 months.
With my advanced certification in hand for a few years now, I’m on the lookout for the best dive spots in Malaysia.
I’ve obviously heard about the Perhentians and Sipadan.
Someone mentioned Tioman too, but not necessarily for diving.
Do you have any feedback on these places for diving? (visibility, marine life diversity, etc.)
Any idea about the rates for fun dives?
Dive centers you’d recommend?

I’m looking for a destination in Vietnam for January to spend a week and go snorkeling.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I know Thailand well, and with my Thai friend, we’d like to try a different country.
This is the excursion we shouldn’t have done in Mauritius.
We did it with The Friendly Dodo, but from what I saw, it’s the same with most agencies.
Departure at 6 a.m. (even though the sun rises at 7 a.m. in August). Why? Because there’s only one well-known spot where the dolphins are, and all the agencies race to get there first.
For 45 to 60 minutes, it’s just straight-line navigation to the spot. No one’s looking for dolphins—we’re just speeding there in silence, full throttle.
Once we arrive, there are already 5-6 boats. The dolphins are there, sure. The boats fight for the best position, cutting off the dolphins’ path, and then—go, go, go—everyone jumps in. Not a single instruction is given on how to approach the dolphins respectfully. Result: everyone jumps in at the same time from 3 boats, creating a huge splash, and rushes toward the dolphins. Outcome: faced with this chaos, the dolphins dive, and you can’t see them from the boat anymore. The swimmers who are right in their path might see them pass below for a few seconds at best.
Everyone climbs back onto the boats, and as soon as the dolphins resurface, the same cycle starts all over again.
After 5 or 6 jumps like this (3 of which I didn’t even see the dolphins), it’s back to the port the same way we came.
Not a single explanation is given during the entire excursion about the dolphins themselves or how to approach them.
Safety-wise, I didn’t feel comfortable either with all the boats fighting for position. I bumped into another boat (no pain) while swimming, and I wasn’t reassured about the propellers.
With all this circus, my daughters didn’t even want to get in the water. The problem is, when you stay on the boat, you don’t get much out of it either—because as soon as the dolphins resurface, everyone jumps in haphazardly and scares them off again.
Having done the same kind of outing in Réunion, I can confirm it’s nothing like this (much better organized and ultimately much more rewarding in Réunion).
Under these conditions, this is an activity we never should’ve done! !

I’ve been in Malaysia for a month now and still have two more to go. I started traveling with friends, but I’ll be solo for the next month and a half.
We did a pretty classic route: Perhentians, Cameron Highlands (which I found pointless), Tioman, and Kinabatangan in Borneo. Now I’m thinking of heading to Redang Island—Langkawi is also an option, but it doesn’t appeal to me as much. Any feedback on these two spots?

Any thoughts on the diving there?
So far, I haven’t had much luck with diving—at the Perhentians, it was pretty disastrous with water at 31°C 😵😫
I’d love to find a nice island where I can meet people (locals and travelers) because going from a group of six to solo at the end is going to feel weird.
So I’m open to all tips and opinions. Also, I’d love to hear about Langkawi, and if anyone knows of an island that’s a bit more off the beaten path, that’d be amazing. Thanks in advance, and happy travels to you all!

notre voyage en Indonésie étant annulé, et notre agence nous déconseillant l'Egypte, nous sommes à la recherche d'un lieu où nous pourrons faire du snorkeling depuis la plage (et en excursion bateau). Je connais un peu Zanzibar pour y être allé il y a plus de 10 ans, ainsi que Pemba (mais les prix ont explosé), et je me tourne aussi vers Mafia.
Est ce propice au snorkeling , des resorts ont ils des house reef où l'on peut voir des choses intéressantes (je ne m'attends pas non plus au niveau de la Sulawesi ou des Raja).

Ce que j'aime en plongée c'est l'eau claire, les fonds marins attrayants, la vie aquatique particulière, etc. Je ne suis pas une fan d'épaves, mais je considérerai tout les sites / pays proposés :)
Nous sommes allé faire une plongée profonde de 100 pieds à la carrière Flintkote. Nous sommes descendu sur le site de l'autobus. êtes vous déjà allé plus bas? comme a la voiture?
