Ayant fait mon stage de secrétaire de direction à Barcelone, je parle très bien espagnol et j'ai donc choisi l'Espagne comme nouvelle patrie! Ayant tjs voulu vivre sur une île, j'hésite énormément entre les îles baléares et les îles canaries....
En visitant plusieurs forums, j'ai pu constater que les îles canaries étaient l'endroit où les salaires étaient les plus bas d'Espagne et je suppose donc que la vie y est plus difficile..... par contre en ce qui concerne les îles baléares, j'ai pu lire plusieurs fois que les majorquins n'étaient pas très agréables avec les étrangers.... en plus comme ils sont la plupart catalans, ça me fait un peu peur, car pour l'avoir vécu à Barcelone, ils ne sont effectivement pas très ouverts (sans vouloir faire de généralités 😊) mais les catalans de Majorque ont-ils la meme mentalité que ceux de Barcelone?
Je fais donc appel à vous, afin de partager avec vous vos expériences sur chacune de ces iles et pouvoir ainsi dresser plus objectivement ma liste des pours et des contres afin de faire un choix définitif.
Tous les tuyaux concernant recherche d'emploi, de logement, coût de la vie, ambiance et coins sympas, ... sont également les bienvenus. Je vous remercie beaucoup d'avance.
Je te livre une experience personnelle.Je vis aux Canaries depuis juin, et c est franchement l horreur.Je connais les Baleares, les 2 archipels sont en proie a une crise du tourisme structurelle.
Pour l emploi, la situation est meilleure aux Canaries, car il y a du monde toute l annee-sauf en ete.
Aux Baleares, c est l inverse.
Tres sincerement, je te conseillerais plutot le Mexique.
Si tu souhaites reellement les Canaries ou les Baleares, pour le travail il vaut mieux les Canaries, ne pas se fier aux statistiques officielles:corruption omnipresente, travail au noir egalement, ...
Pour le logement, choisir imperativement Santa Cruz ou Puerto de la Cruz, dans les petits villages, les gens sont totalement fermes, pour ne pas dire anti-noncanarien, pour ne pas dire d un racisme exacerbe, beaucoup plus qu aux Baleares, meme en parlant espagnol.
Un conseil:pense au Mexique.

Personellement je voulais juste repondre a tes interrogations quant au...caractere des Mallorquins. Il est vrai qu'au premier abord les Mallorquins vont etre tres "froid", distants, parfois meme ils ont un comportement qui pour nous est "etrange"; mais ce qu'il y a de sur, c'est qu'une fois rentré dans le coeur d'un mallorquin (je parle d'amitié), tu n'en resortiras jamais!!
jai vecu 1 an la bas, et y retourne maintenant régulierement, et je peux donc te le dire par experience. Ils ne sont ni mieux ni pire que n'importe quel personne!
Pour avoir sejouré equalement a Barcelone, je trouve que ca n'a rien a voir!
mais il ne faudra pas s'attendre a de grandes demonstrations de joie au debut...le mallorquin est timide 😉 .
Tout ca pour dire qu'il ne faut pas que cela soit un frein a ton depart ou non pour mallorque!
Même si je ne suis pas totalement d'accord avec le caractere generaliste concernant la remarque sur le racisme des canariens, je tiens a confirmer le post de taxi sur la difficulté de travailler dans les iles.
Les salaires sont terriblement bas, et les rares contrats terriblement precaires ...
Ensuite, cela m'amuse de voir que tu veux vivre aux baleares ou aux canaries ... tu n'as pas une idée plus precise du lieu et de la ville ou tu veux t'installer ... les iles des archipels sont tres variées ... cela va du simple caillou a l'ile avec un peu plus d'activité ... evidemment les situations du marché de l'emploi varient donc au sein de l'archipel puis au sein des iles ...
Bon courage ... et attention ... les iles font rever, mais ce n'est pas forcement idyllique d'y vivre

Bonjour je suis arrivée en mars a ibiza pour travailler et maintenant j'ai fini ma saison, ca était une super experience, les gens la bas sont trés accueillant et le travail bien payé une ambiance de folie, je recommande vraiment cette ile pas specialement pour la fete car il y a plein d'autres choses a voir comme les plages les vues magnifiques la nature, je suis arrivée sur l'ile et je ne parlais pas espagnol et c'est les ibicencos qui m'on aidée a apprendre les bases de la langue, je leurs dit a un grand merci!!!
Je suis étonné de lire que les salaires sont si bas aux Canaries. Je reviens juste de Lanzarote et les locaux que j'ai rencontrés m'ont dit que les salaires étaient plus élevés aux Canaries que sur le continent. Comment les locaux peuvent-ils acquérir des biens immobiliers ? Les tarifs sont élevés, surtout si l'on compare le rapport qualité/prix avec la France, l'immobilier à Lanzarote est très cher.
Je suis aussi également étonné de lire qu'il y a une attitude anti-canarienne : à Lanzarote il y a 3000 résidents allemands et 4500 anglais. Je n'ai jamais entendus qu'ils faisaient l'objet de représailles.
Je ne sais pas si la situation est la même sur toutes les îles ? J'ai cru comprendre qu'à Fuerteventura il y a très peu d'habitants et les terres appartiennents à quelques rares familles qui se sont pas vraiment ouvertes aux étrangers.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
