Je voudrais être jeune fille au pair mais je voudrais si c'est possible partir sans passer par organisme!!!
Est ce qu'il existe des solutions pour trouver quand meme une famille d'acceuil?
Est ce que certains d'entre vous on déja tenter l'experience?

Partir au pair sans passer par un organisme : c'est une sacrée loterie.... tu peux "tomber" sur une famille super ... comme sur des nuls. Connais-tu des français qui vivent à NY ou des new-yorkais qui pourraient chercher pour toi sur place ?
D'autre part, sais-tu que les services de l'immigration sont très pointilleux avec ce job ? Légalement, tu dois être envoyée par un organisme .... Bref, ne t'attends pas à ce que ce soit facile à mettre sur pied, mais ne désespère pas, il y aura bien quelqu'un sur ce forum qui pourra t'aider.

Je suis à Seattle en tant k JF au pair depuis Août. Par contre je suis partie avec l'organisme Calvin Thomas (k je ne recommande pas du tout). Avec un organisme c'est beaucoup plus simple pour des questions de Visa, qui est difficile à obtenir.
Tu peux sinon partir 3 mois en tant que touriste (visa tourisme je veux dire) et y être JF au pair.

Comme Tatie, je trouve que c'est mieux de partir avec une agence.Les conditions pour travailler via une agence sont parfois compliquées, mais en contre partie l'agence est la pour te changer de famille si ca ne marche pas ou pour te permettre d'aller a des cours d'anglais.A part les questions légales, imagine que tu pars dans une famille et que ca ne marche pas, tu veux la laisser mais tu n'as pas beaucoup d'argent.Les familles sélectionnées par l'agence ont répondu a des critères et on peut s'y fier.

Il y a aussi Oliver Twist qui semble bien.Ils ont deux types de programme au pair.Généralement il y a des agences francaises qui s'occupent de faire passer des entrevues et de faire l'embauche pour des agences américaines.
Je ne peux pas te renseigner pour le permis, mais a mon avis, plus tu feras affaire directement avec une agence américaine, plus ca peut etre compliqué car le permis de travail est obligatoire.Meme moi en tant que Canadienne je ne peux pas aller travailler aux États-Unis comme je veux.Une agence francaise peut avoir des arrangements avec les agences américaines.Mais avoir le permis de travail ce n'est pas si difficile il faut juste remplir des conditions.Le but c'est juste de s'assurer que la personne ne va pas travailler au noir.

Oui c'est ca, c'est comme les nannies en Ontario.Des agences place des filles dans des familles pour s'occuper des enfants et faire parfois un peu de ménage.Cela permet d'apprendre l'anglais ou une autre langue.Il n, y a pas de salaire, on est logée nourrie et on recoit un allocation.Voila!!

Oui il est obligatoire partout....Malheureusement.Les familles veulent que la fille au pair ammene les enfants aux cours de sport, de dessin etc.En plus New York en métro pour des enfants, c'est pas le mieux.Tu n'es pas obligée d'avoir ton permis pour remplir un dossier, il est obligatoire pour partir.Ce site peut peut-etre t'aider:

Tout comme elle, je souhaite partir aux USA après mon bac.
En revanche, cela ne me poserait pas de soucis de m'inscrire dans un organisme de fille-au-pair. Le seul problème c'est que je souhaite écourter mon séjour aux USA d'une durée de 6 mois environ pour pouvoir, les 4 mois suivants, partir en Allemagne afin de perfectionner mon apprentissage de la langue.
Or, les organismes adaptés proposent une durée de séjour de 12 mois obligatoires.
Je ne sais vraiment pas quoi faire. Je suis perdue. Les USA représentaient un rêve. Mais y séjourner semble être bien trop compliqué.
Quelqu'un aurait-il une adresse d'organisme de fille-au-pair qui propose un séjour de moins de 12 mois?
J'ai regardé aussi quelques historiques de conversation et j'ai constaté que pour travailler uniquement comme étudiant sur place, c'est la croix et la banière. Et ne parlons pas d'y étudier. Les prix sont exhorbitants (plus de 15 000 $ annuel) !
Aaah, si les USA intégraient l'Europe, tout serait beaucoup plus simple !

Et pour répondre à Luna2008 (en retard mais ça servira aux uatres) NON on ne peut pas être au pair légalement aux usa pour un séjour de moins d'un an. C'est le gouvernement Américian qui impose la durée d'un an !

Ca été dit à maintes reprises: on ne peut PAS être fille au pair (et non au père !!!!!!) pour moins d'un an et encore moins juste pour 1 mois! Tu veux aller à NY pour 1 mois bien vas y en vacances en faisant du couch surfing tout simplement.

Pour être au pair aux USA il faut le visa J1 et pour obtenir le visa J1 il faut passer par un organisme officiel. Tu en as plusieurs : CALVIN THOMAS, STS, APIA, Cultural Care.....
Il te faut le BAC ou une équivalence et le permis de conduire.
Si ton dossier est accepté, il te faudra les références de 3 familles où tu as gardé des enfants.
Mais c’est pour être au pair AUX USA et non au pair à New York.
Tu ne choisis pas ta destination. Quand ton dossier est accepté, il est mis sur internet et c’est les familles qui te contactent, et non l’inverse.

Le permis fait parti des conditions obligatoires pour être au pair. Si tu n'as pas ton permis, tu ne peux pas t'inscrire.
Conduire les enfants à l'école, aux activités le soir, ça fait parti du travail d'une au pair.
Tu t'inscris sur le forum des au pairs (le site que je t'ai indiqué plus haut) et là tu trouveras les réponses à toutes tes questions.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
Are there any special requirements before leaving France (aside from taxes...)?

Hi, I’m a self-employed physiotherapist in France, and as my wife (a nurse) and I look into working abroad in about two years, I’ve been offered an equivalence to become a respiratory physiotherapist in Switzerland. Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area. Anyway, that’s not the main point—could anyone explain the pros and cons of doing this job in Switzerland? Based on the paperwork I’ve received, the equivalence seems purely administrative or almost... What about working conditions, quality of life, salaries, etc.?
