J'ai logé 1 semaine au Treasure Island, bel hôtel, pas aussi luxueux que le Bellagio ou le Ceasar's Palace, mais bien situé, chambres confortables, prix correct. Nous avions une chambre avec vue sur le spectacle quotidien du bateau de pirate, c'était pas mal. Le bruit peut déranger certains au bout de qq jours, mais le dernier spectacle est à 20 heures je crois, normalement tu ne passes pas ton temps dans ta chambre.
Par contre, dans la chambre voisine y'avait une famille avec enfants et c'était très bruyant, finalement ils ont changé de chambre car on frappait régulièrement dans la porte communicante pour qu'ils tiennent leurs gamins tranquilles 😠. Mais ça n'a rien à voir avec l'hôtel, c'est quelque chose qui peut arriver n'importe où.
Le Mirage est accessible par un mini-rail si je me souviens bien, si tu veux faire la navette entre le Treasure Island et Mirage.
Rien de négatif à dire, si ce n'est qu'une personne s'est suicidée dans sa chambre sur notre étage, je passais par là par hasard, y'avait les secours mais la sécurité de l'hôtel (un colosse) a tout fait pour détourner mon attention! C'est un événement qui est passé sous silence...probablement un mec qui a perdu au casino et qui s'est tué, mais ça devait rester secret.

Nous avons opté pour le Villa Roma Inn qui est situé à très peu peu de pas du strip, à hauteur du Whynn...Ca semble être une alternative intéressante.

apparemment tu veux etre dans un bel hotel, mais sur le strip en plein milieu il y a travelodge un motel tres bien deux grand lits tv douche chambre assez grande, grand parking si tu loues une voiture et piscine on a paye 50 dollars pour 2 et 69 dollars la nuit le week end, l emplacement est super et surtout pour etre dans le strip c est tres calme, pour moi qualite prix il est tres bien
meme un grand hotel ne t offrira pas plus si ce n est mettre les petits plats dans les grands et vu le prix que coute ces hotels, autant prendre la difference et jouez au casino ou faire du shopping, meme la difference te paiera ta location de voiture a la semaine, c est juste ma facon de voir les choses mais malheureusement je ne peux rien te dire sur les grands hotels on y est pas alle, on ne rentre a l hotel que pour dormir donc ca nous faisait un peu cher pour un lit

Pour te répondre, en 1988 j'ai dormi dans un Hilton (je ne sais pas s'il existe toujours (sinon, paix à son âme) et en 2005 au Circus Circus (énorme et prix correct, mais légèrement décentralisé).
J'en garde de bons souvenirs. Les deux fois, les hôtels ont été choisi par un tour operator puisque nous faisions un circuit organisé.
Pour cet été, je compte retourner à Vegas avec mon fils (mais sans tour operator ni ma femme 😎) et j'hésite aussi entre le Flamingo, le Caesar, le Mirage et peut-être le MGM.
En lisant les différentes critiques (ici) ou sur sur des sites comme tripadvisor, je m'aperçois que le même hôtel peut recevoir d'excellentes critiques comme de très mauvaises.
En fait, on peut recevoir une bonne comme une mauvaise chambre et tout le blème se trouve ici.
C'est ce qui me fait un peu flipper quant au choix définitif pour cet été.
C'est pourquoi ton post m'intéresse aussi et ceux qui ne veulent pas y répondre n'ont qu'à le zapper. 😉 Pourquoi perdent-ils du temps à répondre...

Les chambres en 2004 sont defraîchies .... oui mais il a été rénové l'année dernière Les chambres en 1998 étaient bien ..... oui mais il a vieilli L'hôtel était bien mais j'avais une tâche sur ma moquette Chambre sympa mais vue sur le parking Vue sur le Strip mais voisin bruyant La dame de la réception en 2003 était pas aimable mais en 2005 c'était une autre très gentille. Pas cher mais trop excentré Central mais trop cher Hôtel de 3.000 chambres ... La 2304 avait un robinet qui fuyait .. oui mais moi la 1506 était bien. Et le fameux "pas cher mais central" Imperial Palace 😛
Las Vegas détient le record mondial avec 132.605 chambres alors on peut continuer à en faire le tour, je l'admets. Et on peut se demander aussi s'il y aura vraiment 132.604 personnes qui ont fait un mauvais choix ?
Et que fait l'immense majorité des gens qui retournent à Las Vegas ? Ils vont dans un autre hôtel pour changer même si le précédent était correct 😮

Très belle chambre pour 129$+tx (en semaine), bien situé. Attention il me semble avoir lu ici même que cet hôtel ne s'appelait plus comme ça....
mais si tu hésites entre Mirage/Caesar, prends ce dernier ou mieux encore le Venetian !!
Si vous ne réussissez jamais rien du premier coup, n'essayez pas le parachutisme !

en réponse au post initial inutile d'hésiter à Vegas, si t'a pas de restriction de budget tu vas au Bellagio, sinon tu compare tout les hotels du strip à tes dates, toutes les grandes enseignes offrent un bon voire excellent rapport qualité-prix (si tu paye 35 $ au circus faut pas t'attendre à avoir une chambre grand luxe jaccuzzi plein centre du strip dans un hotel flamboyant...)
Je cherche également un hôtel pour une nuit à LV (donc ça en enlève certains où i lfaut 2 nuits obligatoires) et j'aimerais bien qu'en fait il y ait une belle vue depuis l'hôtel... sur le Strip ou les fontaines du Bellagio... Le Planet Hollywood répondrait il à ça ?

Personnellement, nous avons dormi au Mirage 1 nuit qui est un très bel hôtel et très bien situé sur le strip, en face du Venitian. Mais aussi au Flamingo, Aladdin (avant qu'il ne devienne le Planet hollywood qu'il est actuellement) et au Luxor que personnellement j'ai adoré (mais il est excentré comme le Mandalay Bay, le New York-New York ou le MGM)...
Le plus bel hôtel est, je pense, le Bellagio ; ensuite, viennent dans le désordre, le Mirage, le Paris, le Wynn, le Venitian, le Caesar's palace et j'en oublie probablement.
Quant à la belle vue qu'il peut y avoir de tous ces superbes hôtels, tout dépend du prix que l'on veut y mettre mais la belle vue se paye forcément et quelquefois bien chère !! Nous avions pris la vue sur la jolie piscine du Mirage mais pour ça, il a fallu débourser 60 euros de + 😉😉😉😉
Ci-dessus LA carte pour savoir qui donne sur quoi ... ensuite il faut une chambre qui donne sur le Strip et ensuite une chambre qui donne du bon côté du Strip.
Et puis tant qu'à faire autant regarder le spectacle au bord du lac du Bellagio 😎 Pour le temps qu'on passe dans la chambre, mieux vaut investir dans une montée à la Stratosphere Tower pour avoir la + belle vue le soir !
Le Stratosphere Tower est aussi un hôtel... Mais est-ce que tout le monde peut y monter ? Y-A-t-il un resto panoramique ou une terrasse publique ?
A ce propos, est-ce qu'il y a des terrasses ou restos panoramiques à Vegas, des endroits propices pour réaliser de belles photos ou de mémorables films sur le Strip et notamment la fameuse fontaine du Bellagio ?
tout à fait d'accord avec toi sur le peu de temps qu'on peut passer dans sa chambre à Vegas et sur le fait qu'il y ait d'autres solutions pour avoir de belles images, mais tout de même à Seattle par ex, voici la vue qu'on a eu de notre chambre d'hôtel et quand même, ça l'fait 😛 (attention Seattle n'est pas Vegas 😉)
Du coup j'hésite entre le Mirage et le "nouveau" Planet Hollywood (mais dont je ne comprends rien au chambre et leur vue...)... je vais sans doute rester sur mon idée du Mirage !

je suis aussi nouvelles sur ce site, à la recherche de magasins sur los angeles, sans franscico et las vegas.
En ce qui concerne les hotels à las vegas, je suis déjà allée au mirage (il y a 10 ans) mais il est sympa. D'immense couloirs, chambre pas mal, un volcan devant en animation.
Sinon mon père est allé au luxor et au venitian l'été dernier. Il me disait que le venitian est luxueux et tout neuf, avec de jolie chambre (qui sont de minis suites) j'ai des photos si vous voulez, et le luxor à côté est moins cher et plus standard, beaucoup moins luxueux (j'ai aussi des photos qu'il a prise de la chambre). Le venitian par contre est en terme de décor plus européen, c'est une reconstitution de venise (très jolie à voir cependant). Le luxor est beaucoup plus dépaysan, avec une pyramide, des sarcophages... décor de l'ancienne égypte.
Le mirage est sympa aussi, je me souviens en plus du volcan animé à l'extérieur le soir, il y a un tigre blanc en bas dans l'entrée.
Moi je vais aller à las vegas les 8, 9, 10 avril (je vais aux us du 26 mars au 6mai) et j'ai réservé un hotel beaucoup plus modeste qui s'appelle le hooters à 40€ la nuit car je n'ai pas un gros budget et préfère garder mes sous pour jouer au casino, aller manger au redlosbter (chaine de restaurant avec des langoustes) et faire du shopping :-)

Pour la vue depuis le Stratosphere, je pense qu'il faut prévoir un téléobjectif pour avoir une vue pas trop mal du strip, en effet, on est qd même relativement loin, les photos qu'on voit de temps en temps prise depuis le haut de la tour, on a souvent une vue très très large.

Moi non plus je ne suis pas joueur, si je vais à Vegas, c'est pour visiter les hôtels qui sont de véritables attractions.
Vivre la nuit et se reposer la journée au bord de l'une de ces fabuleuses piscines.
Mais actuellement, je n'ai pas encore arrêté mon choix sur l'hôtel de mes rêves.
J'ai acheté un bouquin sur Vegas et c'est vrai que c'est de la folie là-bas sur le plan des hôtels, c'est pour ça que j'apprécie vraiment tous vos messages constructifs.

il y a pleins de spectacles a voir; les hotels a visiter aussi; profiter des piscines (ok en ete); aller dans certains bons restos (ou buffets); se balader le soir sur le Strip !
et pourquoi pas prendre un helico/avion/ ou louer une voiture pour se balader aux alentours (le jour et le soir: le Strip / spectacles) ...😉

C'est vrai, c'est une ambiance que l'on retrouve nulle part ailleurs.
La première fois que j'y suis allé, j'ai détesté, car il y avait des mendiants à l'entrée de chaque casino.
La seconde fois, c'était aussi juste pour une nuit et toujours en tour organisé, j'ai plus apprécié l'ambiance.
Je n'ai pas assisté à des shows, ça ne me branche pas trop, par contre j'ai beaucoup aimé le méga show du Strip et de tous ses hôtels; notamment le spectacle de la fontaine du Bellagio.
Pour cet été, j'hésite toujours pour l'hôtel. Suite à des posts sur ce forum, je suis aussi tenté par un vol en hélico.
Et comme je vais louer un SUV à Vegas pour partir dans les parcs, j'en profiterai pour faire une virée dans les alentours de Vegas.
Je suis allée à Vegas il y a 3 ans.... je n'ai pas joué dans les casinos.... Le "must' de mon voyage a été un voyage de 4 heures en hélico pour voir le Grand Canyon...et les spectacles de Céline et du Cirque du soleil....

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I had planned a trip to Colorado in 2021 but canceled due to COVID, so with time passing and my eldest’s high school graduation approaching fast, I figured it was now or never!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.
I’m currently putting together my day-by-day roadbook and having some trouble planning certain days, like in LA or Las Vegas. Choosing hikes isn’t easy either—it’s tough to decide!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
