J'habite près de Ranong (30km) depuis 5 ans. Je désirerais savoir si il y a des français qui resident dans la région je n'en ai pas encore rencontrés. Ce serait simplement pour echanger . je suis motorisé , vehicule+ moto. Je réside sur la route qui coupe entre la mer d'Andaman( Ranong)et le golfe de Thailande (lang Suan).dans l'attente de réponses, bonnes journées à tous.

Peut etre que je ne réponds pas vraiment à ta question, mais des français (et un suisse, plus un couple d'italien très sympats) vivent sur l'ile de Koh Phayam. (je les ai vu en 2011 et 2012 et apparement plusieurs y sont toujours en 2015). Peut etre, moi même irai je vivre quelques mois à Ranong fin 2015. (3 ? 6 mois?) Mais je ne fais pas de prévision...

De Bangkok à Ranong en Bus de nuit:
Trois compagnie de Bus VIP déservent Ranong depuis Bangkok. Toutes les trois passent par la gare routière sud de Bangkok (deux privées et une gouvernementale) et pour la compagnie NewMit Tour, le bus de 32 places à 500B, part du siège de la compagnie, à d'environ 500 m de Khao San Road, puis passe par la même gare routière sud de Bangkok et tous les bus des différentes compagnies arrivent directement au centre ville de Ranong.
Le départ des bus 32 places de la compagnie NewMit Tour est au 365/6 Phra Sumen Road, Bangkok, (tel 0-2281-6939; 0-2281-6949). Soit a 8m d'une agence de voyage (information Amazing Thailand), a peu près en face du Wat Bowomniwet et a 20 m de la GH Boworn BB, 150m de Prasuri Guest House, .... attention le nom de cette compagnie n'est inscrit qu'en Thai dans cette rue, et seul la presence de ses gros bus dans la rue transversale au coin de l'agence trahit sa présence. Départ à 20H00 ou 20h30 arrivé à 5 heures du matin à Ranong, en passant d'abord a la station de Bus extérieure de Ranong puis arrive au terminus en centre ville de Ranong.
Le gros avantage des bus de cette compagnie est qu'ils partent de son siège (365/6 Phra Sumen Road, Bangkok) qui est à 8 minutes à pied (environ 500 mètres) de Khao San Road Rd («entre» Khao San Rd et Democratie Monument), et arrivent directement au centre ville de Ranong.
Pour les trois compagnies: Gros bus VIP de 24 places (666 Bahts), ou 32 places (500 Bahts) ou 38 places (428 Bahts), (j 'ai essaye le32 places tres bien!). Les sièges de ces bus s'inclinent presque complètement ce qui permet de dormir assez bien et la climatisation n'est pas trop forte. Bouteille d'eau offert, et arrêt d'une heure en chemin pour manger...
Attention, quasiment toutes les "Travel Agency" de Khao San Road ou les hotels qui « font » Ranong, le font via Sura Tani ou ... et ce n'est pas intéressant du tout; car vous mettrez beaucoup plus de temps et une grande partie du trajet se fera par minibus ... Non seulement vous serez mal installé, (peu de place, siège qui ne s'inclinent pas) mais vous ferez un long détour par Sura Tani ou ...(trajet deux fois plus long), vous paierez bien plus cher (jusqu'à 2 fois plus...) et vous arriverez à Ranong souvent après toutes les connexions possibles (nombreux témoignages... (1))
Arrivé à Ranong: On arrive a 5h30 du matin.
Si votre destination finale sont les iles de Koh Phayam, Chang, REFUSER refuser les propositions de Taxi pour le port de Ko Chang, Ko Phayam car vous arriverez bien trop tot dans un endroit ou il n'y a rien a faire et plutôt sinistre. Dite NON aux chauffeurx de taxi ... qui vous proposent de vous emmener au "Pier". (j'insiste car la quasi totalité des européens prennent des taxis sitôt arrives a Ranong et 4 heures a attendre dans un endroit laid, sans vie a regarder le béton d'une jettée ... pas terrible du tout)
Si vous prenez les bus Newmitr, vous arrivez juste derrière l'office de cette compagnie de Bus en plein cœur de Ranong, tranquillement, vous traversez l'office puis la rue et juste en face, il y a un restaurant ouvert ou vous prendrez un petit dej avec beignets ou the ou soupe, ... Juste a cote il y a la GH Casa Theresa qui est aussi une mine d'infos et d'un cadre agréable a la Balinaise (jardin , ou on peut aussi y dejeuner...). (On peut aussi aller au marcher central de Ranong a environ 800 m ou 7/8 min a pieds.)

Apparemment, il y a toujours plusieurs français qui vivent sur l'ile de Koh Phayam. (je suis tombé par hasard sur des commentaires récents les mentionnant)
Concernant Ranong, il y avait une sorte de festival très sympats durant plusieurs semaines, en centre ville, je crois me souvenir en Janvier (ou Février... ???) rue Ruangrat (c'est dans le prolongement de la rue du Marché central). Ils bloquaient complètement la rue à la circulation le soir, et de très nombreux stands de nourritures et autres sortent de divertissement s'intallaient. C'etait très agréable. Le "festival" a t-il toujours lieu ? Connais tu les dates de ce festival?

PS: Connais tu la plage de Bang Ben Beach, à 45km au Sud de Ranong? (je ne la connais pas mais j'en ai entendu parlé). Je crois savoir qu'un couple mixte y a ouvert dernièrement une GH (ou à proximité imédiate dans le petit village), mais je n'ai pas d'autres infos dessus.

Je connais bien la plage de bang ben ce n'est pas loin de chez moi il y a un couple mixte ( hollandais , thai qui ont une GH sympa dans le village et un peu à l'exterieur il y a un nouvel hotel qui vent d'ouvrir en bord de mer ça m'a l'air très sympa.
Pour le festival, il y a deux ou trois occasions dans l'année ou la rue est fermée le soir pendant une semaine ave c pleins d'animations avant les fêtes novembre je crois , en janvier et une autre fois aussi.
Pendant la saison chaude , cette rue est transformée en rue piètonne tous les dimanches soirs
je jois quelques photos prises du nouvel hotel à Bang ben.
