Bonjour,
Le mois prochain je vais faire CDG-Heathrow-NYC avec British Airways.
A l'aller, j'ai 1h pour changer d'avion dans le même Terminal (5).
C'est pas trop short en temps ou galère pour le transit ?
Avez-vous une expérience récente ?

Il ne faudra pas être en retard sur le premier vol 😉

C'est un peu juste (1h c'est d'ailleurs le temps minimum légal) car les vols pour NYC (entre autres) décollent du terminal 5B et il faut une quinzaine de minutes pour faire T5 -> T5B. Le plus long est de passer le contrôle des passeports et la sécurité. Sinon, tout est bien indiqué. Mais si le vol en provenance de CDG est à l'heure ça devrait le faire.

J'ai eu à modifier un trajet avec BA réservé à un tarif promotionnel moyennant 150€ de frais + éventuel règlement de la différence de tarif donc ça devrait être possible mais pas bon marché c'est sur.

Je viens de contacter BA, effectivement, je n'ai pas intérêt à modifier mon vol au tarif économique(non modifiable).
Il ne me reste plus qu'à espérer que mon vol pre-acheminement ne soit pas en retard, puis quitter l'avion au plus vite et enfin ne pas traîner dans l'aéroport pour avoir ma correspondance.
Au final l'agent BA me précise que si je rate mon vol de 18h, je serai rebasculé sur le vol AmericanAirlines de 19h(qui est rarement complet) ou celui de BA à 20h.
oui vous avez raison dans ces cas là ne bougez pas ... si problème de retard sur le préacheminement vous serez reprotégé sans frais sur vol suivant comme ils vous l'ont précisé.

quel hazard!!! justement c'est les vols que j'avais quand j'ai pris les billets à la va vite sans réfléchir pour trois personnes!!!! pour "réparer" mon étourderie on a pris de marseille un tgv plus tôt... j'étais sur celui justement de 17h et quelques initialement (d'ailleurs je surveillais ce vols depuis un bon moment sur le site d'ADP, faites pareil....) qui avait du retard depuis plusieurs jours TOUS LES JOURS (février était peut être aussi la cause , neige etc (là vous ça sera peut être bcp mieux mais bon dans le doute), ... de ce fait j'ai décidé d'aller au guichet bien en avance en expliquant que je trouvais juste le délai entre les deux vols et d'autant plus que le vol de 17h est souvent en retard (j'ai dit ça à l'agent au sol) elle m'a dit oui il ya de la place encore sur le vol de 15h je peux vous changer sans frais... faut oser de toutes les façons ça ne coûte rien juste un refus et bien pas grave ... si ils nous font rater le vol international ils ont plus de frais en reroutant parfois sur cie partenaire.

oui des avis partagés comme sur tout forum..
BA reste sérieuse est n'est pas à l'abri d'un pépin donc c'est pour celà qu'il faut tout de même être prudent...c'est clair que ce n'est pas embêtant quand on n'a pas un départ croisière ou vol low cost réservé A PART au départ des usa par exemple (Floride, des amis on raté un départ croisière à cause d'un préacheminement raté coût de la perte 4000 euros!!!!!) car pas de dédommagement... quand on a des vols sur un même billet on se laisse porter par les évènement ils gèrent ....le rerouting... par contre il faut savoir que en période de forte affluence (vacances scolaires ou ligne très fréquentée) etc le rerouting fonctionne uniquement si il reste de la place dans la classe de réservation du billet....pas de surclassement parfois on peut attendre deux jours quelque part pour continuer notre voyage....
donc je préfère attendre bcp plus longtemps en transit que de risquer un problème....

certaines cies sont assez strictes et c'est tout de même énervant de rester en salle d'embarquement quand on a raté la correspondance (j'ai eu le cas avec lufthansa) qui m'a dit impossible votre billet ne vous permet pas d'être protégé en classe supérieur (l'agent à bien dit le mot "classe")...
bref en tous les cas ça mérite d'être connu cette pratique....

Dans le cas d'un billet modifiable sans frais cela facilite les choses ? Ou ces billets sont toujours modifiable uniquement dans la classe tarifaire, même si il reste de la place dans une classe tarifaire inférieur?

j'ai souvent vu des personnes "poireauter" à l'aéroport , j'ai discuté avec eux ou entendu leurs conversations comme quoi il n'ont pas pu embarquer sur un vol non complet du fait que le tarif de leur billet ne permettait pas un surclassement et ça je trouve un peu abérrant ... Après tout pourquoi ne pas surclasser pour complèter des sièges restés libres (surtout quand ce n'est pas la faute du voyageur qui reste en carafe!!! mais à cause d'un retard qui incombe à la cie)...après la cie doit loger et nourrir (tout du moins en générale, certaines ne le font pas d'office si on fait pas de scandale) ça doit leur coûter moins cher ?? bref c dommage cette politique.... il ya plusieurs années on pouvait être reprotéger sur n'importe qu'elle type de siège...

Retour d'expérience pour vol CDG/JFK via Heathrow avec transit 1h.
A l'aller tout s'est très bien passé malgré un transit que d'une heure : - Paris CDG départ à l'heure (16h50), arrivée à Londres (17h00) avec British Airways. - A l'aéroport d'Heathrow, transfert "Express Connection" dans le même Terminal 5, procédure très efficace: le personnel de l'aéroport nous attendait à la sortie de l'avion avec la liste des voyageurs qui ont un "short transit", puis ils nous font passer en express (moins de 10mn) les formalités "contrôle des passeports" et "sécurité", ce qui fait que nous avions encore 20mn d'avance avant la fermeture de la porte. - Décollage de notre second vol à l'heure (18h05). - Arrivée prévue à New York John Fitzgerald Kennedy 20h50, nous accusons un retard de 50mn suite à encombrement aérien sur JFK. - Nous passons les contrôles d'identité (passeport, photographie du visage et de la rétine, empreintes digitales des deux mains), récupération des bagages en 1 h de temps.
Au retour: - Départ JFK avec 50mn de retard suite à trafic dense sur le tarnac (21h40 au lieu de 20h50)... à se demander si cet aéroport n'est pas devenu inadapté maintenant. - Donc arrivée le lendemain matin à 10h15 avec 50mn de retard à Heathrow. Ce qui nous laissait 1h au lieu de 2h initialement prévu pour transiter. - Comme à l'aller, il n'y avait pas de personnel pour nous accueillir, fort de notre expérience à l'aller, nous avons forcé les contrôles en évoquant un "short transit" ce qui nous a permis d'attraper notre second vol 5mn avant la fermeture de la porte. - Nous sommes arrivés à l'heure à Paris.

En ce qui nous concerne, depart le 9 juin ORY-LHR-LAX avec 1h10 d'escale a Heathrow aucun souci avec meme de l'attente vu que le vol pour LAX a ete retardé .
Par contre au retour, LAX-LHR-ORY, ca a été une autre histoire ... Depart de LAX avec 15/20 mn de retard puis une longue attente sur le tarmac a l'arrivée a Londres . Du coup, on est arrivés pour debarquer a peu pres au moment ou l'avion pour Paris decollait ( 1h15 d'escale) donc attente de 5h dans le T5 en attendant le prochain vol pour ORY
Donc, cela confirme les autres avis, 1h est assez si on a pas de retard (ou peu) mais clairement trop juste en cas de long delai ....

J'ai fait le même trajet il y a trois semaines, CDG-LHR-JFK. La connexion au T5 est très facile est rapide, c'est faisable. Si vous êtes inquiet, vous pouvez demander au PNC du CDG-LHR un coupon "fast track", normalement réservé pour les Business et First Class passengers. Cela vous permet de passer encore plus rapidement ; perso, je l'ai fait en 10 minutes chrono (connexion dans le même T5 pour tous les vols BA), puis 10 minutes pour aller au T5B avec le train automatique. Donc presque le temps de prendre un café... 😛
Ne vous inquiétez pas, LHR n'est pas comme CDG, en général toutes les files sont ouvertes et les agents rapides, courtois et efficaces aux contrôles. Même sans "fast-track" cela devrait vous prendre 30 à 40 minutes MAXIMUM...
A noter, si vous avez une carte AMEX Centurion, vous pouvez aussi emprunter le "fast track" 😎 (j'ai réussi une fois à faire accepter mon AMEX Plat classique, aussi).

1h30 pour le transit c'est sans problème si votre 1er vol n'a pas trop de retard.
C'est vrai qu'il y a toujours un petit moment d'angoisse au moment du départ.
Si vous avez réservé vos deux vols sur la même compagnie, c'est sans risque car si retard important il y a avait, ils sont obligés de vous prendre en charge et vous router sur le vol suivant.
Je viens de faire avec KLM/Air France un vol Marseille/Amsterdam/St-Petersburg avec seulement 1h15 de transfert à Amsterdam, tout s'est bien passé car mon 1er vol était à l'heure.

C'est un jour en semaine le Jeudi 26 Juin, en cas de problème le vol suivant est à 9H50, donc pas encore trop d'attente si il y avait vraiment un souci.
Cela me rassure qu'il y en a qui y sont arrivé en 1h, ce sera un peu la course, mais apparemment faisable si pas de retard.

C'est un jour en semaine le Jeudi 26 Juin, en cas de problème le vol suivant est à 9H50, donc pas encore trop d'attente si il y avait vraiment un souci.
oui les passagers en retard si connexion ratée sont protégés sur vol suivant SI IL RESTE BIEN EVIDEMMENT DE LA PLACE.....😉 les liaisons sur JFK sont souvent complètes... mais bon là oui c'est un jour de semaine...en juin c'est chargé les vols

Since it came into force, Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and Council, which defines air passenger rights, has faced fierce resistance from airlines, backed by IATA (the association representing almost all passenger airlines).
Beyond the airlines' often abusive—and even frequently bad-faith—resistance to passenger rights, IATA has been lobbying EU institutions for years, with the Council paying close attention for a long time.
As a result, the Council and the Commission have been proposing revisions to Regulation 261/2004 for years that are particularly unfavorable to passengers. The latest attempt nearly eliminated the right to compensation for delays of 3 hours or more upon arrival at the final destination.
However, since this is a regulation of both the European Parliament AND the Council, the two bodies had to agree.

The arrival time will be when the plane, having reached its parking spot, engages its parking brakes (no longer when the aircraft door opens); - Airlines can no longer refuse boarding or charge extra on the return flight for a passenger who didn’t take the outbound flight; - If a flight is canceled, the airline must, at the same time as informing passengers of the event, offer the choice between a refund and re-routing, and inform them of their rights to assistance and, if applicable, compensation; - The airline must, without undue delay, inform passengers of the reason; - In the case of a connecting flight, if the connection is missed and the delay at the final destination entitles the passenger to compensation, the responsible airline will be liable. This is very different from the current situation, where, under the KLM ruling, any airline operating a segment of the flight is liable for compensation. This promises more disputes that the Court of Justice of the European Union will have to resolve if two separate airlines operating segments of a connecting flight are both responsible for the delay. Of course, there’s huge pressure from European agencies, which are forced to disrupt their plans or even cancel trips because of this. Personally, I’ve got a trip planned for February 2026 to the southern parks in Tanzania, so I’ll be keeping an eye on how this develops. Do any of you have updates? Thanks!

Before, they used to prioritize major airlines, but now it’s small airlines from small countries—companies with terrible ratings and borderline safety concerns. I even just noticed this note for a Tanzania trip: "We inform you that the domestic flight segment in Tanzania included in your trip is operated by an airline listed on the European Union’s list of air carriers subject to an operating ban within the European Union. This ban only applies to European Union airspace, meaning this airline is not permitted to take off, land, or fly over European airspace. However, this airline is authorized to operate in Tanzania."

We need assistance for check-in and boarding/disembarking (my husband is a mobility-impaired traveler who uses a cane and/or a walker). We’ve done a cruise return from Dubai to Paris CDG before in 2016, with a layover in Istanbul, but we booked the transfer and return flight with COSTA. For our current plan, it would be with Celestyal, which doesn’t offer round-trip flights from Paris to Dubai. Should we book very far in advance, or is a few months before departure enough (4/6 months)? We’re thinking of arriving the day before the ship departs, so we’d need to stay overnight in Dubai—either on the way there or for the return flight, depending on the flight schedules. Could you recommend a hotel not too far from the airport, and how to get to the port from the airport?

So, I’d love to know: how strict are EasyJet’s ID checks? Do they enforce validity rules strictly and refuse boarding if the ID isn’t valid? Or is it more of a luck-of-the-draw situation?

The problem is that the smallest suitcase I have (which is supposed to be designed specifically for cabin size standards, according to the manual) has the following dimensions: 55x37x21, so it's just 1 cm over (wheels included) on one of the measurements.
I wasn’t too worried at first, but I’ve read dozens of stories about people’s misadventures and the hassles they’ve had with RyanAir.
Since I don’t want my suitcase to end up in the hold (that would waste time picking it up when I’m already arriving late and need to get to the city center), nor do I want to pay an extra fee (apparently 50 €) for the outbound and return flights for just 1 centimeter—especially since I paid for the "priority+" option and I’m not exactly rolling in money—I’d love some advice.
Have any of you been in the same situation? I’ve read that with this airline, they check bags in templates (testing them in different positions) and are completely uncompromising. I tried contacting customer service, who, as luck would have it, "don’t handle this kind of request," and a rep I spoke to wasn’t much help.

Just to clarify, since I’m going for 8 days, I can’t just take one bag for my stuff. I’ve done that for shorter trips before, and it was a hassle—I even had to buy an extra bag for the return trip... Luckily, the inspector was nice about it!

I’d like to return to Uzbekistan next April for 10 days with my husband to visit our son who lives there. We went last July and I bought the flight tickets (direct flight from Paris on Uzbekistan Airways) about 2 months in advance at very reasonable prices. I’ve been checking for late April for a few weeks now, and the tickets are much more expensive and keep rising. I can’t figure out if the prices are going up because it’s still a bit too early to buy and they’ll likely drop if the planes aren’t full, or if it’s because the period is actually in high demand. For reference, last year I bought my son’s ticket on May 30th for a departure on June 3rd—just 3 days later—at a very low price that didn’t budge at all.
Just in case, does anyone know the pricing trends for this airline and can advise me? Should I wait or not?

My wife bought a flight ticket (Lucky Air) under her Thai maiden name and was issued a Chinese visa on her new Thai passport but with her French married name (due to administrative requirements). She was denied boarding by the airline in Bangkok for the flight to Kunming—resulting in the loss of our round-trip flight tickets, including mine since we were traveling together—despite presenting both passports at the airline counter at the same time.

Way cheaper than Air France, for example.

I can't seem to find flights between the Cape Verde islands on the airline's website. No matter the date or route, I always get the same response: "no flights on this date." See the photo. Would anyone have an explanation? Surely not all flights are fully booked in July?

Has anyone managed to get a refund from Oman Air?
After a delayed flight, we missed our connecting flight to get home!! At midnight, the flight attendant booked us on a flight to Nice via Munich, even though we were in Munich and wanted to get back to Nice... Too tired from the trip, we didn’t notice the mistake!! The next day, of course, the booking wasn’t valid!! We had to pay again for the flight back to Nice... I’m really struggling!! I think they’re giving me the runaround!! I’ve sent several emails, tried Messenger and WhatsApp, but the only responses I get are: "We need to investigate!! We’ll get back to you in 15 days!!" It’s been over a month!!
I just sent a registered letter (LRAR) to their office at Paris Charles de Gaulle, which is still open!!
Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Sri Lanka has announced it could run out of fuel in the coming weeks if the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked. The government has implemented a mandatory four-day workweek to save oil, and there are long lines at gas stations due to fears of an early shortage.
In Vietnam, the government has warned all airlines that flights will need to be reduced due to a lack of kerosene. The country imports two-thirds of its jet fuel from China and Thailand, but both countries have now banned exports out of fear of domestic shortages.
The state is asking airlines to plan ahead and park aircraft to drastically reduce operations, starting with domestic flights and then international ones. International carriers will also need to cut back on their rotations.
This will begin in the coming days. 🙁

First question: Will my checked baggage be transferred automatically? I have a single ticket from KTI to YUL (Air Canada ticket—KTI-ICN operated by Asiana (codeshare) and ICN-YUL by Air Canada).
Second question: I saw it’s possible to join free guided tours (Airport Transit Tour). What do you think of this kind of service? And is my "actual" layover time (accounting for security checks, check-in, etc.) enough to do one of these tours?

I'm heading to Namibia next May. I'm planning to take a first flight from Paris to Johannesburg with Air France, departing at 11:20 PM and arriving at 11:05 AM in Johannesburg. Then a second flight from Johannesburg to Windhoek at 3:25 PM with South African Airways.
Four hours between the two flights seems enough to catch my connection, but a friend told me I should maybe take the 5:30 PM flight instead because I need to go through immigration, collect my luggage, and check in again. Apparently, I have to do this because I bought the two tickets separately (it's actually much cheaper).
What do you think?
Also, in terms of South African airlines, which one do you think is the most reliable between South African Airways and Airlink?

Now, onto the topic :)
We’re a family of four traveling together to Seoul, with two separate bookings.
Our original itinerary was: Madrid → Doha → Seoul (March 23–24)
The issue is that our entire outbound flight was canceled, and the airline simply rescheduled the Madrid → Doha leg. Now we’re left with an incomplete journey, with no solution to reach our final destination (Seoul).
Since then:
- Can’t modify flights online (technical error every time) - Can’t get help via chat or WhatsApp - Phone support is unreachable, and the usual French number isn’t working right now
We don’t want a refund. We just want to be rerouted to Seoul, as our original ticket promised.
We’re flexible:
- On dates (we can leave on March 21 or 22 instead of the 23rd) - On the itinerary (different layovers if needed)
Have any of you dealt with this before? Do you know how to unlock a booking in this case or get a rerouting? We’re considering going straight to the airport to resolve it at the Qatar Airways counter....

We just received an email from Volotea saying our flight time has changed (by more than 2 hours).
The email states "you can request a free date change."
If I change the date, will the flight price stay the same as the original price, or will I have to pay the difference?
Specifically: Our flight on the 7th is 46.25 €, and the one on the 8th is 92.51 €. If we switch to the 8th, how much will we pay?
When I request the date change to the 8th, it says "No additional fees."
