Affordable accommodation in Singapore

Hi everyone, I’m afraid this is a pretty standard question, but one I haven’t really found an answer to! I’m looking for accommodation in Singapore for two nights in mid-March. I know "reasonable price" can mean anything and nothing —I realize staying here isn’t cheap. But if anyone has a good recommendation, I’d love to hear it! I’ll be traveling mostly in backpacker mode, but I don’t want a youth hostel. That said, I’m fine with something a bit out of the way. Thanks in advance! [:)]
