Etant donnée qu'à chaque fois que je cherche des info pour mon voyage je tombe sur ce forum j'ai décidé de lancer mon topic :).
Alors voila je vais à Vegas avec un ami fin juillet pour 4 jours et 3 nuits et je suis totalement perdu dans le choix de l’hôtel, à chaque fois que je me dit celui là c'est le bon et bah non j'en trouve un autre.
Je voudrais un hôtel avec une bonne piscine qui possède une ambiance assez jeune où l'on puisse rencontrer du monde avec de la bonne musique etc. Et si possible un hotel avec une bonne boite de nuit.
Au départ j’étais parti sur le Palazzo mais j'y ai renoncé car les prix ont trop augmenté en 2 semaines, ensuite je suis parti sur le Caesar Palace mais d'après ce que j'ai pu lire les chambre font un peu vieillot et enfin je me suis arreté sur 3 hotels :
- Le Flamingo
- MGM Grand
- The Hard Rock (mais je ne suis pas vraiment convaincu par ce dernier)
Haha en effet il y a des milliers de post et moi même je n'y ai pas trouvé mon bonheur d'où celui ci. Cependant j'aurais aimé avoir l'avis de personnes qui ont deja voyagé dans un des trois que j'ai cité ça me faciliterait la tâche 😇.
Le Flamingo d’après ce que j'ai pu lire c'est assez "crado" finalement.

je viens de regarder sur le site du PH il y a des réductions sur les chambres sur leur site en ce moment. Attention, si vous y aller un WK les prix grimpent en flèche. Il y a une grosse difference de prix sur une même chambre entre le WK et en semaine. Et ceci pour tous les hôtels de Vegas.
La piscine du beach club au Encore est dingue. Le ELARA est plutôt jeune. Perso j'adore cet hôtel. La piscine du ARIA aussi mes perso je trouve l'hôtel bof (et horriblement cher pour la prestation). Oublie le bellagio, ceasar et autres ce n'est pas "jeune" mais plutot familiale. Perso, je vote pour le ELARA.
J'ai séjourné au Planet Hollywood et je pense qu'il correspond à vos recherches. Il y a entre autre, deux piscines, l'une familiale et l'autre réservée pour les 21 ans et plus. Selon mon conjoint, à la piscine pour adulte c'était une clientèle jeune et qui aime faire la fête. 😉
Pour les chambres et bien c'était très bien. Grand, propre et avec une belle et immense salle de bain.
C'est vrai que j'ai dormi il y a à peu près huit ans... Apparemment le tel après un coup Dieu d'après les commentaires sur tripadvisor...
Après je me méfie de plus en plus de tripadvisor...
La plupart des personnes satisfaites d'une prestation ne prennent pas le temps de laisser une évaluation. Alors que ceux qui sont mécontents se précipitent pour le faire.
Le Flamingo a certainement vieillit un peu forcément puisque c'est un des premiers hôtels . Après à mon avis on est très loin du motel pourri que l'on trouve sur la route 66 .
Maintenant s'il faut garder le planète Hollywood, on est plus du tout dans la même catégorie d'hôtel ...
En novembre Dernier j'ai dormi à l'Excalibur pour 55 €. J'ai eu droit à une chambre avec un jacuzzi ...
J'ai réservé mon hôtel 10 minutes avant d'aller dormir sur expédia directement dans le hall de l'hôtel qui possède une connexion wi-fi gratuite ...
Ben simplement parce que la chambre était à environ 69$ sur place et 55 euros sur expédia...
En plus, en payant en dollars j'aurais eu des frais.
Non seulement j'ai eu une chambre moins cher, mais en plus il m'a surclassé en chambre avec Jacuzzi..
Je fait très souvent ça.
Par exemple au Red Lion Hotel de Kissimmee, j'ai demandé les prix au guichet, et constaté qu'ils étaient environ 10$ plus cher que sur expédia. Idem, le wifi était gratuit dès lors que l'on était à l’accueil...
Bref 47 euros sur expédia... Je demande au gars si ça pose problème et lui explique que c'est plus simple pour moi en plusde payer en euros car pas de frais de banque. Il me répond qu'il n'y a pas de problème. De toute manière c'est la même chambre...
c'est très souvent valable... Je n'expliquerais pas pour quoi, mais je fais souvent de bonnes affaires ainsi...

J'avais dormi au Flamingo il y a plus de 20 ans ( çà ne nous rajeunit pas ! ) et nous voulions y retourner l'an passé, par nostalgie ... et pour voir ce qu'il était devenu .
Commentaires fréquents : le pauvre ... , bientôt disparu ... , ..., le prochain à abattre ... et qq favorables .
Hé bien non, il a été en partie bien rénové ( tous les étages supérieurs ) avec de chouettes détails ; la vue, surtout à partir du 15- 20ème étage, sur le Strip et les fontaines du Bellagio, est somptueuse et la piscine 'adultes only' correspond à ce que qq un de jeune peut souhaiter : musique, bar, de l'ambiance surtout l'après - midi !
Il y a une autre piscine parents et enfants et ce n'est PAS une pataugeoire : le commentaire d'un Français sur Trip disait que sa fille de 18 ans avait été reléguée dans la pataugeoire ! ! ! ( il y en a bien une , pour les BB... ) .
Les prix ne sont pas affolants si on évite le W E et ce n'est pas un GRAND MONSTRE comme le Caesar ...
Seul problème qu'on gardait à l'oeil : le check in qui, comme dans la plupart des hôtels casinos , est encombré perpétuellement : 1 h d'attente ne serait pas rare . C'était déjà le problème il y a 20 ans ...
Le Flamingo propose un "check in on line", à faire la veille de l'arrivée ; nous avons essayé : le jour même, au matin, à l'arrivée à Chicago entre les 2 vols, message de l'hôtel qui dit de le faire.
A l'arrivée, file de 100 personnes et à côté, 6-7 personnes si fait en ligne : ouf !
Vous avez même à ce moment, la possibilité de vérifier vos préférences et de les corriger : à faire !
Je le conseillerais pour des jeunes qui veulent dormir sur le Strip , profiter d'une piscine adaptée et ne pas y mettre trop d'argent ...
Tu confirme tout de même ce que je pense ses évaluations sur les sites de réservation...
Par exemple sur Tripadvisor, environ 170 évaluations entre moyen et médiocre.
En tout, environ 22800 évaluations... Cela fait déjà très peu d'insatisfaits.
Je ne parle pas ceux qui sont des éternels insatisfaits (Cela réduit le pourcentage).
on est à moins de 1 personne sur 100 insatisfaite.
Si on considère qu'il y a 3600 chambres au Flamingo, même en louant 50% des chambres, cela fait 657000 chambres par an... Sur 10 ans, environ 6 570 000 chambres et seulement 22800 évaluations sur Trip advisor !...
Cela signifie qu'en réalité, 6 569 830 personnes ont été satisfaites de la prestation !...
Déprimer au flamingo?
Tout depend de se que l'on cherche .
L'hotel a un bon rapport qualité prix , il est bien placé il y' a deux piscines correct et des chambres pas forcement vieillote (go deluxe) .
Notre amis cherche un hotel pour faire la fete et rester boire des verres dans la piscine avec de la musique et tellement pas de place que tout le monde est debout sans possibilité de nager un minimum , le beach club du wynn est fait pour lui 😎.
J'ai fais pas mal d'hotel à las vegas (une grosse quinzaine) du meilleur au plus cheap et je trouve le flamingo tres bien.
@ brigitte42: depuis cette année en plus du check in au comptoir classique il existe maintenant des bornes automatiques , il y' a 5 ou 6 machines il me semble pour faire un self checkin

La chambre que j'avais etait correct , je n'ai pas test la piscine.
Ce n'est pas l'hotel que j'ai preferé à las vegas.
Concretement toutes les chambres sont bien dans les hotels, elles font toutes plus ou moins la meme superficie apres ca ne reste que de la decoration.
Apres on ne passe pas son temps dans la chambre donc je ne pense pas que la chambre soit le critère principale à prendre en compte.
La meme ambiance que dans bien d'autres hotels de vegas au final.Je sais pas si tu as deja été à las vegas mais que tu sois au MGM, au planet hollywood ou au new york new york il n'y a pas de grande difference .
Tu vois le flamingo comme hotel vieillot , certe c'est le plus vieil hotel casino du strip ( 1946) mais je te rassure ca n'a rien a voir avec l'epoque l'hotel à evoluer lol. Par exemple dans la salle de bain tu as une TV incruster dans le miroir de la salle de bain , tu peux regarder la TV en te lavant je n'ai pas vu ce systeme dans des hotels plus recent donc tu vois il y'a un minimum de modernisme 😉(valable pour les chambre go deluxe les autres je ne sais pas)
Jai vu que certain conseiller le planet hollywood j'y suis deja aller et j'ai bien aimé , en plus il reste assez bien placé , tu peux te pencher sur celui la qui est mieux que le MGM (selon moi).

Hello, le problème que j'ai remarqué c'est que bien souvent les avis ne tiennent pas ou peu compte du prix, comme si ce n'était qu'un détail sans importance. Par exemple le Cosmopolitan est un 4 * alors que le Flamingo est un 3*. Ben oué c'est sûr, c'est mieux. Mais il y a encore mieux : des 5 étoiles (comme le Trump par exemple, où une nuit coûte le même prix que 2 semaines au Flamingo).
Je pense qu'il faudrait d'abord définir la catégorie, peut-être tout simplement par le nombre d'étoiles (qu'il faut bien chercher sur les sites car il est souvent caché).
Le Famingo est un hôtel 3* placé idéalement, néanmoins ses tarifs sont bas et il est plutôt à comparer au Circus-circus, à l'Excalibur, au Luxor ou le Stratosphère, et pas au MGM Grand ou au Bellagio ou au Cosmo.
Si on privilégie "l'ambiance" et le fait de ne pas se déplacer en voiture c'est forcément un bon choix, sinon le Linq moins connu me paraît équivalent (même tarif, bien placé, construction plus récente mais plus banale aussi).
Sinon pour un jeune pourquoi ne pas choisir un hôtel dans Freemont Street ? Bah d'après les dizaines de vidéos que j'ai visionné l'ambiance me paraît bien plus animée et sexy que sur le Strip qui me fait penser aux grandes avenues avec de larges espaces vides comme les Champs Elysées.
Dans cette optique, The D me paraît un bon choix - sans compter le prix au ras des pâquerettes. Je sais qu'il est impossible d'y dormir mais bon un jeune qui va à Las Vegas c'est pas pour dormir ! (Une sieste sur le transat doit faire l'affaire).

C'est pour cela que je dit que vous semblez entendre ce que vous voulez. Ceci étant c'est à vous de choisir en effet... Donc allez sur Trip advisor et faites vous un avis par vous même...
Mais comparez ce qui est comparable.
C'est à dire comparrer le Flamingo avec le circus circus ou l'excalibur...
Mais pas avec le MGM ou le Newyork Newyork par exemple...
Moi je dors toujours à l'excalibur pour payer moins cher. Cet hôtel est très bien, propre (Comme la plupart des hôtels à Vegas).
Pas cher ou moins bien à las Vegas ne signifie pas "sale ou nul"... Ces arguments sont souvent basé sur le fait que certains des hôtels sont des palaces. Et donc un hôtel comme le Flamingo est forcément moins bien qu'un autre ayant plus d'étoiles...

J'y ai passé 5 nuits au mois de Mai et t'inquiete pas j'ai reussis a dormir 😎
J'ai meme trouvé mon etage calme et tres court dans sa longueur se qui limite le bruit habituel du passage des gens dans les long couloirs des hotels.
Par contre pour celui qui compte dormir avant minuit je pense qu'il vaut mieux demander une chambre sur l'arriere ou au pire sur le coté 4 eme rue et non pas sur la face de fremont street.
Sinon peu importe l'endroit et l'hotel , je dors toujours avec des bouchons d'oreilles type EAR 3M et avec sa tu n'entend rien 😎

C'est justement en regardant les photos sur Tripadvisor que je me suis mit en tête que les chambres du Flamingo étaient "vieillot", cependant n'aimant pas me fier à un seul site c'est la raison pour laquelle j'ai ouvert un post sur ce site.
Et à vrai dire quand je vois des réponses comme la votre je ne le regrette pas, car vous n'êtes pas là par ce que vous y êtes obligé et par conséquent vos avis sont très objectifs. Je prend note de vos recommandations et il est vrai que je n'ai pas prit en compte le comparatif des étoiles.

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

My 16-year-old son is flying to Grand Rapids with other kids his age. There’s a layover in Detroit. There’s no unaccompanied minor service available. We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. As you can see, we're heading back from September 6th to the 27th.
Everything’s booked for September—flights, accommodations, and the car. As I plan, I’ll be asking the experts for help. This is our second trip to California, but most of the stops are new to us.

I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
