Nous sommes partie moi et mon conjoint pour la découverte d'un état peu touristique en Inde le Gujarat. Nous avions comme envie de le faire à moto et sans autre touriste avec nous. Nous voulions être accompagnés d'un guide afin de faciliter le voyage. Pour ce faire nous avons fait appel à Amandine et Xavier qui sont proprio de cette petite agence, Hote Antic Travel et nous ne le regrettons pas du tout. Comme nous étions un peu indécis de quelle partie de l'INde visité, Amandine nous a concocté 3 devis de 3 etats indiens différents, le Rajasthan, le gujarat et l'imachal pradesh et elle a bien pris soin de nous dire quelles étaient les différences entre les 3 concernant ce que nous allions découvrir, visiter etc.... Au final nous avons choisie le Gujarat et à moto avec Xavier comme guide. Cette agence est bien organisé mais nous laisse aussi libre dans nos envis. Grâce à eux nous avons passé 4 jours dans une famille indienne en campagne et ce fût pour moi une expérience innoubliable. Nous avons aussi eu la chance de participer à un très grand festival, le mahashivratri ou nous en avons eu plein les yeux! Bref, pour avoir fait plusieurs voyages accompagnés de guide, autant privé qu'avec agence, je peux vous dire que Xavier et Amandine sont super, sérieux et à l'écoute de son monde. Nous avons découvert l'Inde à travers de sa population grâce à eux. Je vous recommande cette agence qui ne fait pas que des voyages à moto mais aussi en transport en train, rickshaw et autres.... pour de plus amples info, n'hésitez pas à me contacter, j'ai plusieurs photos que je pourrai vous montrer!

En fait nous sommes arrivés à Delhi, de là nous avons pris un train de jour pour aller à Agra car je tenais à vois le Taj Mahal. Ensuite train de nuit pour Udaipur et de là nous avons pris possession des motos, Royal Enfield. Notre trajet, Udaipur-Mont Abu 290 km nous avons dormis au guesthouse Mushkil aasan. Ensuite Mount Abu-Little Rann of Kutch 230km hotel Sagar et guest house dans la ville de Radampur. Ensuite nous nous sommes rendu à Bhuj 210km environ Hotel Rajmahal, nous y avons dormis 2 nuits. Ensuite Buhj-Banni-Khavda. je ne me souviens pas du nom de l'hotel. ( 90 km) Le lendemain, Khavda-Than ( 90km) . le lendemain Than-Daisara 110 km nous avons dormis dans une école et les fonds sont utilisés pour acheter les fournitures scolaires. Daisara-Mandvi ( 50km) Nous avons dormis 2 nuits à Mandvi. De Mandvi nous nous avons roulé 330km pour se rendre à Rajkot. Dormi à Rajkot. Ensuite Rajkot- Junagadh. Nous avons passé 4 jours chez une famille indienne en campagne, des amis de notre guide. Ensuite nous nous sommes rendue à Diu ou nous avons dormi 2 nuits. De Diu nous avons fait 200 km environ jusqu'à Palitana ( une nuit) et de Palitana à Ahmedabad ou nous avons passé une journée et avons pris un vol pour le retour. C'est un peu un circuit hors du commun, peu touristique mais ce fût super pour un premier voyage en Inde, et surtout de le faire à moto...wow. Mais prudence quand même car même si j'avais entièrement confiance en mon conjoint qui est presque né sur une moto la conduite reste tout de même un risque en elle même!!! N'hésitez pas pour d'autres infos, ça me fait plaisir! Pour ce qui est des endroits ou dormir dans le Gujarat les hôtels touristiques ( pour occidentaux) ce font rares, les guesthouses sont surtout pour le touriste indien, les gens de d'autres états de l'Inde...donc un peu sales, pas très accentué sur la propreté mais jamais de mon voyage je n'ai rencontré de blattes ou autres insectes dans mes chambres.

J'ai oublié de dire mes dates de voyage pour vous donner une idée...nous sommes arrivés à Delhi le 12 février 2014 et sommes repartie d'Ahmedabad pour un vol domestique pour Mumbai et ensuite le Canada le 6 mars pour un total de 23 jours.

Et merci pour votre réponse, si rapide et si complète, car je ne sais pas ce que vous aviez comme guide book, mais sur le guide du routard, il ne dit absolument rien sur le Gujarat, à part, AHMADABAD.
Nous avons déjà fait des circuits en inde du SUD mais nous avons du mal à rouler plus de 100 km/jour, cela à du êtres fatiguant pres de 300km parfois? Qu'aviez-vous comme moto? Pensez-vous qu'il nous soit possible de nous arrêter, entre?
L'ile de diu est vraiment une ile? Avez-vous pu y aller en moto? BAC ?

C'est un lien que j'ai trouvé qui parle de l'ile de Diu mais en fait c'est plus une presqu'île, on ne prends ni bac ni bateau mais on y arrive pas un petit pont. C'est une ancienne possession portuguaise rattaché à l'Inde en 1961. L'architecture y est portuguaise et une partie de ces habitants parlent toujours le portuguais. Sur l'ile de Diu je n'ai pas eu l'impression d'être en Inde, tout était propre hahahah! je vais mettre quelques photos de cette île en piece jointe. Pour le moto s'était une royal enfield 500 cc et moi j'étais assise derriere. Nous faisions un petit arrêt pour boire le chai et se dégourdir environ tous les heures, heure et demi.
Les routes sont plus ou moins indiquées dans les petites artères car même notre guide devait demander des renseignements sur notre route de temps en temps. Tu peux aller voir leur site internet hoteantictravel.fr

pour le lien ça a l'air bien, mais j'ai encore une question, sur la carte il y a 2 DIU un pas trés loin de Bombay et un autre j'imagine que c'est le plus loin, en fait j'arrive à Bombay et je ne sais pas si nous partons de Bombay ou d'Ahmedabad Je ne sais pas si l'on peut louer une moto à Ahmedabad, et si nous partions de Bombay nous pensons partir par Surat, et à ce moment là on passerait au 1er Diu

Notre voyage s'est deroulé autourbdu mois de mars il me semble, ma mémoire me joue ded tour car il y a de cela déjà 2 ans. Nous sommes partie 23 jours donc 19 jours de royald infield dans l'état du gujarat avec un guide privé de l'agence hote antic travel. Je crois que notre itinéraire est sur le site de cette petite agence. Pour ce qui est des photos, je ne sais pas si vous avez un facebook mais dans mes photos puis ensuite dans mes albums jai tout pres de 200 photos du voyage. Faite moi une demande en cherchant Sandy Bérubé et ma photo c'est moi avec la vue sur le kawah Ijen en Indonedie. Si vous avez d'autres questions n'hésitez pas!

très facile, il faut aller dans le quartier de Karol Bagh dans New Delhi.
C'est le lieu où se vendent les 2 roues d'occasion dans la capitale indienne.
Les marchands (ils sont des dizaines) peuvent aussi te louer leurs motos.
Si je retrouve des adresses, je te les envoie plus tard, là j'ai pas trop le temps, dsl.

Je souhaite faire une boucle en partant de Delhi via Manali-Leh-Srinagar. Je recherche donc une moto solide et plutôt légère pour pouvoir la relever seule. Une Enfield 350 devrait suffire.

C'est pas fréquents mais c'est possible, all is possible. 😉
C'est pas NX le modèle en Inde mais Impulse , et c'est fabriqué par Hero , l'ancien partenaire de Honda.
Visiblement, ils ont gardé des accords avec Honda, car cela ressemble étrangement à un 150 XR.
ça fonctionne avec un carbu et c'est bien plus simple à réparer pour les mécanos indiens qu'un modèle à injection.
Malheureusement, elle ne rencontre pas un grand succès et je ne suis même pas sûr qu'elle soit encore commercialisée.
Sinon des 600 XT ou XLR en Inde, j'en n'ai jamais vu et cela n'a jamais été importé ou produit sur place.
Si tu en as vu, c'était certainement des étrangers qui les avaient ramenées avec eux je suppose.
Concernant la nouvelle Enfield 400 trail, c'est tout nouveau.
J'ai un pote qui va régulièrement en Inde et qui vient d'en acheter une, j'en saurais donc plus prochainement. Personnellement, je la trouve plutôt sympa avec son look vintage !
Récemment, BMW vient aussi de sortir des petites motos avec son partenaire indien TVS, et il y a aussi un trail intéressant le GS 310.

Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)
Day 3: Telouet - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne (200 km - 3h30) (+ Vallée des Roses maybe)
Day 4: Boumalne - Dades Gorges - Agoudal - Todra Gorges - Tinghir - Goulmima (291 km - 6h)
Day 5: Goulmima - Midelt - Cirque Jaffar - Agoudim (280 km - 4h45)
Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
Day 9: Ouzoud - Marrakech (160 km - 2h43)

We haven’t booked any hotels—is that a problem? We were thinking of deciding day by day based on our progress.
Can we take our helmets with us in the cabin, or should we pack them in the checked luggage surrounded by clothes to avoid damage?
