je souhaiterai avoir votre avis sur le circuit que j'ai réalisé, nous partons Lundi prochain pour Bali, et avons décidé de faire BALI et LOMBOK, et les GILIS ou FLORES. En tout 17 jours sur place
nous souhaitons faire un mix de nature, rizieres, temples, marchés, plages, plongée, randos pour avoir un séjour équilibré.
que me conseillez vous entre les iles GILIS et FLORES ? il parait que FLORES est somptueux pour la plongée donc vaut-il mieux faire Gilis ou Flores ?
si nous faison Flores, combien de temps faut-il compter, et peut-on organiser cela depuis Ubud ou autre ville de Bali ?

alors effectivement labuan bajo a l'ouest de flores c'est le top pour la plongée, vraiment un must, des plongées gravées a vie dans la mémoire.
je connais un super plan pour y aller a un cout modique, partir de padangbay jusqu'a gili trawangan, de gili réserver un trip pour aller a labuan bajo(attention se renseigner des jours de départ pour le trip).la croisiere se fait en 3 ou 4 jours selon la compagnie, le bateau est pourri, pas de radio, pas de canot de sauvetage, a voir donc selon l'etat de la mer, le bateau fait 2 a 3 arrets par jour sur des sites fabuleux:petites iles de la sonde +komodo et rinca.
par contre ça reste tres roots, on dort sur le pont a la belle étoile, la bouffe est tres sommaire, essayer de pecher ça fait toujours ça en plus et emmener bien sur bcp d'alcool pour bien s'amuser avec les autres voyageurs et l'équipage.
pour les compagnies, apparemment la perama a une radio a bord, mais ça reste moins bien que l'autre compagnie(désolé j'ai plus le nom) et un jour de moins donc moins d'escale.
la photo de mon avatar a été prise pendant ce trip, on y voit d'ailleurs le bateau, par contre c'est plus délire camping que 3 etoiles et faut pas faire une crise d'appendicite.
réserver son vol des l'arrivée sur labuan bajo(tres important) sinon c'est 38h de bus+ferry a travers sumbawa et lombok(authentique et magnifique), mais bon..., pour l'avion un pot de vin ça peut aider
l'autre option c'est bali+ lombok mais perso a ta place j'irais plonger a flores
pour le club de plongée a LB, reefseekers c'est le mieux(a mon avis bien sur) mais bajo dive club fait l'affaire aussi
C'est vrai que sur 17 jours, il va falloir que tu fasses un choix, surtout que tu dis vouloir faire un "mix".
En complément de ce que t'a proposé Kiviv, je peux te parler de la partie BALI, bref de mon voyage de 3 semaines à Bali où il y a déjà tant à voir.
Tu peux par exemple passer 5 à 6 jours à Ubud. Ce n'est pas de trop car tu peux faire plein de choses à et hors d'Ubud. Ensuite, tu vas à Padang Bai (pareil tu peux visiter Tirta Gangga, le Waterpalace, les rizières de Sideman, Iseh.... et tu y fais de la plongée).
Après tu prends le ferry ou autre et pars dans d'autres aventures. Attention aux temps d'acheminement et compte que les bateaux ont du retard.
N'en fais pas trop, sinon tu ne feras que courir !
Ce que j'ai fait en un peu près le même temps (enfin un peu plus quand même) :
1/ Visite de Bali en Scooter (le tour en 8 jours max) : MAGNIFIQUE !!!
2/ Trek sur le mont Rinjani (3-4 jours) : SPLENDIDE !!!
3/ Croisière depuis Labuhan Lombok (est de l'île de Lombok) pendant 4 jours, en passant bien sur par Komodo Island (visite du parc pendant 1/2 journée) : INOUBLIABLE !!!
4/ Arrivée à Labuhan Bajo pour un ou deux jours de plongée, mais cela risque de faire juste point de vue timing...
Prends bien soin de prendre ton billet d'avion retour avant !!!
pour le fichier, j'ai mis tout cas par écrit ci dessous pour vous montrer où j'en suite.
concernant la façon de voyage, je pense qu'on prendra un guide sur qq jours au début, histoire de découvrir la culture et ensuite surement qq jours en scooter, ou vélo.
On a choisi de rayonner depuis Ubud et Amed mais vaut-il mieux Amed ou Padangbai ?
Vu mon programme, pensez vous qu'il vaut mieux faire GILIS ou FLORES (en croisière) ?

pour le rinjani, j'espere que tu es bien sportive, je l'ai pas fait mais apparemment c'est assez difficile.
la plongée a LB : pas mal de courant(ça dépend aussi bien sur de la marée), il faut quand meme avoir un peu d'expérience et un ordi de plongée c'est pas du luxe(tu peux en louer un là bas).
quel est ton niveau de plongée et combien de plongées as-tu en mer ?
pour la croisiere c'est pas que du snorkelling, c'est aussi monter tout en haut d'une ile magnifique, baignade dans riviere au milieu de la foret, baignade dans lac salée, bref c'est le top mais il faut voir selon la météo, moi j'y etais en mars-avril 2008 , pendant une journée on a eu un peu de houle et les 2/3 du bateau etait malade, il faut avoir un peu le pied marin mais je le répète c'est le sommum.
sinon pas besoin de guide du tout a bali sauf pour le batur ou l'agung(tres dangereux, je te le déconseille bien que ce soit vraiment magique), le rinjani tu peux le faire en une seule journée sans descendre dans la caldeira, mais bon(en meme temps je l'ai pas fait)
l'epave de tulamben c'est bien mais hypertouristique, si tu fais un peu d'apnée et que tu descends vers les 15m, pas besoin de la faire en scaphandre, beaucoup de monde mais c'est qd meme de la tres belle plongée
donc pour résumer et reprendre les différents points sur lesquels je m'interroge...

pour le vol, je connais pas les prix, mais en indo ça reste abordable, moi j'etais rentré en ferry + bus pour dans les 20-30 euros (essaye de réserver le vol LB-denpasar le plus tot possible).
en fait pour tout faire sans trop galoper il te faudrait 5 semaines
a LB , si tu y es c'est vraiment dommage de pas plonger au moins 3-4 jours:le top des spots c'est castle rock et cristal rock
3jours a gili, je peux pas trop te répondre, ça dépend des gens, si t'es branché beaucoup plongée, ya des champis aussi(ça vaut le détour:ticket to the moon), par contre leur party tout les 2 jours, c'est pas top et la zik est un peu pourri (enfin ça dépend des gouts)😉
t'as raison de planifier ton voyage mais tu verras que tu pourras pas t'y tenir, étudie deja la question météo
enfin dans tout les cas tu vas te régaler (d'ailleurs la nourriture est exquise)
je reviens de 17j à Bali (sans m'y ennuyer un instant) et ai apprécié en 2 ou 3j minimum ce que vous comptez faire en 1jour (exemple: Munduk et les lacs : belle balade tranquille de 4 ou 5h pour revenir à pied de l'extrémité du Danu Buyan, avec guide de munduk, ou superbe balade aux cascades + girofléier, caféiers cacao etc... (2h avec guide) mais pas les 2 en même temps a mon avis...),
de même appeler "journée de repos" Ubud/Uluwatu aller/retour via la "visite " de 2 ou 3 plages plus Jimbaran plus je ne sais quoi, est assez relatif: on refait les routes sur la presqu'ile mais on roule à 40 quand tout va bien, et il fait très chaud.....Pourquoi ne pas y passer une nuit?...pourquoi ne pas essayer de capter un peu de la vie balinaise sans "bourrer" les journées au maximum??
chacun son voyage, mais j'ai peur que vous vous apprêtiez à "faire" Bali plus qu'a vous imprégner de Bali...qui trop embrasse risque un peu de mal étreindre, non?

Nous sommes rentrés depuis 3 jours d'Indonésie (Bali, Lombok et Flores).
Premier point, beaucoup, beaucoup de monde en Indonésie cette année, conséquence très difficile de trouver une chambre et souvent très cher!
Sur Gili Trangawan tout était plein, les gens dormaient sur les terrasses des restos en attendant qu'une place se libère. Gili Meno beaucoup plus calme. Kuta Lombok vraiment super sympa, des plages magnifiques autour.
Lombok n'est interessante que pour le Rinjani et Kuta Lombok, Sengiggi sans grand intêret.
Nous avons fait la croisière Lombok-Labuan Bajo (4 jours/3 nuits) je trouve que cela fait beaucoup de bateau pour des endroits pas inoubliables. De plus en été beaucoup de vent, une nuit de navigation avec une mer démontée, bonjour l'angoisse😕
Pour Komodo, Rinca et le snorkelling c'est beaucoup plus interessant de faire un voyage de 2 jours/1 nuit depuis Labuan Bajo.
Pour les prix d'avion (en juillet 2009) Labuan Bajo-Denpasar 65€, Maumere-Labuan Bajo 40€, Mataram-Denpasar 35€.
Labuan Bajo c'est un port un peu quelconque qui est surtout interessant si vous plongez. Tout près de Labuan Bajo deux iles avec des fonds superbes Kanawa et Seraya, mais logement cher et de très mauvaise qualité!
Pour Gili, pas besoin de vélo pour faire le tour de l'île, tu l'as fait en une heure de marche (ou peut etre un tout petit peu plus).
Pour le temps resté à Gili, cela dépend si tu veux rester trankilou ou pas, car à part snorkeling (ou plongée) et farniente et magic mushrum, ya pas grand chose à faire. Donc tu peux un peu raccourcir là si tu veux !
Pour Bali, tu peux aller voir les sites du nord en scooter, comme par exemple Git git waterfall ou les sources d'eaux chaudes dont je ne sais plus le nom, c'est pres de Lovina Beach où tu peux faire de la plongée aussi d'ailleurs...
Faire le Batur vaut le coup d'oeil aussi, meme si c'est assez physique. Cela prend une journée et c'est sur la route. Au retour de cette belle rando, tu te baigneras au lac plus bas, très agréable et l'eau d'une chaleur...
Pour Rinjani, le faire en une journée est impossible !!! Compte minimum 2 jours. Nous étions resté 3 et deux nuits. C'était vraiment magnifique !
Bien d'accord avec Mephisto44, ce voyage me donne le tournis!
Trop de choses en peu de temps! C'est comme un voyage organisé où il faut en voir le plus possible en peu de temps.
Bali est intéressant si on prend le temps... C'et indispensable pour avoir le temps d'aller voir une procession, une préparation de cérémonie et encore plus beau UNE CEREMONIE ou tout simplement observer la vie des Balinais et leur rapport aux traditions.
C'est ce qui a fait que ce voyage m'a énormément plu: il y avait cet aspect culturel que j'ai moins ressenti au Vietnam ou en THaïlande.
Amed ou Pandag Bai ? Va voir mon blog, je parle des 2 destinations. Amed, c'est bien pour le farniente et pour le snorkeling, sinon on a adoré l'hôtel mais on n'était pas venu pour l'hotel! Je trouve qu'Amed est un gros nid de touristes.
PADANG BAI a le double avantage d'avoir une vie de village et d'être un port. De plus tu peux y faire de la plongée et tu n'es pas confiné comme à AMED. Enfin, c'est là qu'on a assisté à une cérémonie dont je garderais toujours un souvenir ému.

Duc, je ne peux pas te laisser dire cela, tu ne connais pas tout Lombok et moi non plus du reste!
Mais il se trouve que je suis allée à Permula, dans la région de Sekotong, que contrairement à tous les touristes qui sont partis sur les 3 Gilis du Nord, nous étions seuls à nager dans la mer, seuls, tu entends. Pas ce flot de touristes sur les Gilis du nord bondés.
Seul, le LP parle de ce coin, c'est la péninsule Sud-Ouest, au Sud de Lembar, la région de Sékotong.
Pourquoi s'agglutiner dans les Gilis du Nord alors que l'on peut goûter pleinement à d'autres Gilis dans le sud?
va voir mon blog, quelques photos de ce coin ci-dessous.
Les Gilis, et quoi qu'en dis ses détracteurs, c'est le grand pied et moi j'y retourne constamment .... maintenant dire que sur la grande île de Lombok il n'y a pas grand chose à voir, c'est vraiment la méconnaître ...... et à part Sekotong et Kuta Lombok avec ses environs, il y a quand même :
- Le Fish Market de Tanjung Luang, un des rares où l'on peut encore voir des requins et des raies fraîchement péchés ....
- Toute la région centrale avec les villages de Pringgasella, Pengadangan, Ttebatu, pour ses champs et ventes de tabac, ses marchés aux pigeons, des tisserands ..... et tous ces magnifique jardins de légumes et fruits, et sans compter la possibilité au départ de Tetebatu de se ballader sur les pentes du Rinjani à la recherche des macaques noirs .....
- Les mosquées Welu Tulu en bois et palmes de Rembitan .... et là je ne parle pas du village touristique, mais des mosquées oubliées avant l'arrivée au village, et non visitées des touristes ....
- Les villages traditionnels dans la partie Nord dans la région de Bayan ....
- Separu au pied du Rinjani côté Nord et ses nombreuses possibilité s de trek sur le Rinjani également .....
Et j'en passe, car en cinq fois je n'ai pas encore tout vu .......
Je suis en partie d'accord avec vous, quand je dis le Rinjani, il faut comprendre la région du Rinjani avec tetebatu (beaucoup aimé), senaru. Pour les îles effectivement il vaut mieux aller vers le sud ouest et Gili Nanggu, Gili gede.
Toutefois Lombok est moins interessante que Flores ou Bali, de mon point de vue ( pas la peine de m'assassiner).
Autre chose qui m'a marqué en se balladant à l'intérieur de Lombok a travers les villages, les villes et les marchés, c'est la saleté😕. Des quantités de plastic de papier tout le long de la route assez impressionant. Autre chose que j'ai beaucoup aimé c'est la gentillesse des gens😏. Et a Lombok on ne dort qu'entre 23h00 et 04h45, avant trop bruyant et après c'est la litanie des coqs et du muzzin.
On ne t'assassine pas, chacun son point de vue ...... juste on rétablit des vérités, et quand à la saleté .......

Tu vois, on fait dire ce que l'on veut aux photos ....... et dire que les bords de route à Lombok sont impressionants de saleté relève là encore d'une fausse information, car aussi bien les marchés que les villages et bords de route ne sont sales ......

je suis allée voir ton blog Omega 3, il est superbe, ca m'a permis aussi d'avoir des idées sur le logement, hotel.
pour mon parcours, c'est vrai que sur chaque jour, j'ai mis pas mal de choses, mais c'est + pour que je sache les coins sympas à voir. Sur place, en fonction de notre forme, et de nos envies de flaner, on en fera plus ou moins.
pour Lombok, on a de toute facon prévu 2 jours et une nuit sur Kuta lombok , juste apres le TREK pour pouvoir nous reposer et flaner avant de revenir en France...
il reste juste à choisir entre Gilis et Labuanjo. 4 jours sur lesquels il va falloir qu'on tranche entre les Gilis, la "croisiere" depuis Gilis pour voir Komodo Rinca et Flores, ou l'avion depuis Denpasar vers LAbuan puis un Dive Safari de 2 jours 1 nuit avant de repartir sur Maumere pour faire le trek...
sinon, j'ai une derniere petite question, pour revenir de Lombok à Bali, vu qu'on a l'avion à 13H50 à Denpasar, peut-on prendre un maumere denpasar le matin tot , genre 8H ou faut-il mieux partir la veille pour être sur de ne pas louper son avion le jour J ? en gros, y a -t-il souvent des retards ou annulations sur les vols entre Bali et Lombok ?
nous sommes mercredi, et nous sommes à J- 4 avant le départ !

I’ve found so many tips and reviews on this forum, so it’s my turn to contribute a little.
We spent just over two weeks with our family, with the following itinerary:
- Hanoi: 5 days
- Halong Bay: 3 days and 2 nights
- Tam Coc: 3 days
- Mai Chau: 2 days
- Sapa: 3 days
We got around by bike, scooter, Grab, and bus.
Our main accommodations were homestays and hotels in Hanoi.
We visited lots of museums, temples, and neighborhoods in Hanoi.
We did a 2-day, 1-night trek in Sapa with May, a Hmong local, without going through an agency.
A few small regrets: the weather was overcast, and we couldn’t make it to Fansipan, but nothing major 😅. We also couldn’t find transport to get from Sapa to Mu Cang Chai.
Other than that, this trip will stay in our memories for the kindness of the Vietnamese people, the connections we made, the food (street food, homestays...), the coffee 😋, the landscapes, and how easy it was to get around...
Our goal was to take our time and focus only on a small part of northern Vietnam.

10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before.
