Que pensez-vous de s'arrêter 1 nuit à Everglades City en venant de Naples ?
Est-ce intéressant de rester une nuit à Everlades City en venant de Naples (60km de trajet) ou c'est préférable de partir tôt le matin de Naples, aller à Everglades City (60km de trajet et 1h de route), visiter les Everglades et puis, repartir vers Key Largo (175km avec +/- 2h de route) et gagner 1 jour dans les keys ??
Est-ce intéressant de s'arrêter une nuit à Key Largo en venant de Everglade City ou passer une nuit de plus à Key West (4 nuits au lieu de 3 nuits) ?
J'hésite sur une partie du trajet.
Que choisiriez-vous et pourquoi, la raison ?

Je n'ai fait que 2 voyages de 10 jours en Floride, je peux vous donner mon avis sur qq points de votre parcours, car je n'ai pas tout visité.
Concernant Orlando, 2 jours dans les parcs ça me parait bien, nous avions fait les 2 parcs universal (avec 2 ados de 16 ans). Nous avons profité de loger pas très loin, pour pouvoir sortir en milieu de journée et y retourner le soir (en effet il n'y avait pas beaucoup de monde et nous avions fait tout ce que nous voulions y faire assez rapidement). Au milieu nous nous sommes soit reposés à l'hotel, soit avons été dans des outlets pour un peu de shopping.
Je n'ai pas été à cap Canaveral, donc je ne saurais répondre sur ce point.
Nous n'avons pas non plus été à Sarasota, donc pas d'avis, sauf pour vous conseiller d'aller à tampa au parc d'attraction Bush Garden, ce fut notre parc préféré du séjour, surtout si vos ados aiment les sensations ! il y'a également beaucoup d'animaux, ce qui peut permettre à ceux qui sont moins fan des attractions de ne pas s'ennuyer non plus.
Moi j'ai adoré Naples, mais il faut reconnaitre qu'il n'y a pas grand chose à y faire hormis le superbe coucher de soleil sur Naples Pier, la plage, et si vous etes fan encore des outlets pas loin.
Nous avions ensuite rejoint Miami en visitant en chemin les Everglades à Shark Valley : une superbe promenade à velo (durée 2-3h) au milieu des croco ! Il y fait hyper chaud, il faut prévoir au minimum 1.5L d'eau par pers car aucun ravitaillement n'est possible au milieu de la boucle. Cela peut paraitre dangereux car les crocos sont vraiment très proches parfois, mais ça rends la ballade vraiment interessante.
A Miami, je conseillerai un peu plus que 3 nuits, si vous voulez y prendre votre temps.
Je n'ai visité Keywest qu'au cours d'une mini croisière, donc je ne vous conseillerai rien là non plus.
A miami, nous avons logé la 1ere fois au Best Western on the bay & marina. Nous l'avions trouvé très bien (nous avions une voiture de location), les prix étaient à l'époque très interessant, mais il est un peu loin de South beach, que nous rejoignions en voiture en se garant sur l'un des parkings publics (payants).
La seconde fois nous avons pris un appartement via Airbnb au niveau de la 7eme ou 10eme street. Appart très simple : 2 lits doubles dans un grand studio , une kitchenette, et une sdb/wc.
Je pense que vous devriez pouvoir trouver plein de Compte rendu de voyage en Floride sur ce forum qui vous permettra d'améliorer votre parcours si il y a lieu de le faire.

Nous avons bien avancé sur notre parcours.
On restera 4 nuits à Orlando (visite de 2 parcs Universal's Islands of Adventure & Wet 'n Wild) et visite de Cap Canaveral avec Cocoa Beach un autre jour.
Où avez-vous acheté au fait vos billets pour ces parcs Universal ?
Pour Tampa, nous y allons mais voir un match de baseball des Rays car on aime cette ambiance avec mes boys. Je pense qu'on aura pas le temps de visiter malheureusement Bush Garden à Tampa. On fera un peu de farniente à Sarasota (Siesta Key).
On passera bien à Ft Myers, Naples et les Everglades / Shark Valley et puis direction Key West.
Concernant Miami, on logera au Westin Diplomat Resort. Nous rejoignerons South Beach en voiture en se garant à l'un des parkings publics payants.

Lors de notre 1er séjour en Floride, nous avions passé 3 nuits à Orlando, avec comme objectif de faire une journée à Universal Island of adventures (Les enfants avaient déjà fait avec leur père une visite d'Universal Studios en Californie), et une journée ou demi journée à Wet'n Wild. Sauf que lorsque nous sommes arrivés sur Orlando, la météo n'était plus très bonne, et meme si il n'a pas fait trop mauvais temps, le ciel était très très nuageux, ce qui ne motivait pas du tout pour un parc aquatique. Nous avons donc changé d'avis et acheté un billet 2 jours 2 parc pour universal, nous les avons acheté au lobby de notre hotel (La quinta Inn Orlando International Drive North), mais je ne saurais pas dire si on avait eu un prix interessant.
A South Beach, le parking que l'on utilisait souvent était celui citué sur 7th Street entre les rues Collins CT et Collins Ave. Il n'était pas trop cher, bien placé pour rejoindre la plage devant les hotels sympa de Ocean Drive et payable à l'heure.
Sinon, il y a un beau point de vue sur South Beach depuis le parking situé à l'angle de Lincoln Road Mall (pietonne) et alton Road. On ne s'y est pas garé (je ne sais pas si les prix sont interessants) mais on est monté "à pied" au dernier étage où on a une belle vue sur les environs (le parking est en "étage" mais n'a pas de murs).

On logera au Quality Inn & Suites d'Orlando durant 3 nuits.
J'hésite encore de commander les billets en avance ou les acheter surplace...
Pour South Beach, j'ai bien noté le parking de la "7th Street" que vous proposez. Il a l'air d'être admirablement situé près la plage.

On a beaucoup aimé le parc Island of aventures. On la préfèré au parc Universal studios ou c'est toujours un peu pareil : des attractions en 4d .
Dans Island il y a des rollers coasters, des attractions avec de l'eau (très sympa si il fait chaud), mais venez avec des capes de pluie car on en ressort totalement trempés 😊
Et il ya la partie harry potter qui est superbe. Nous avons fait près de 2 h de queue pour faire l'attraction (il y a eu un pb technique ) mais c'est très sympa surtout avec des enfants. Nous y étions aux vacances de pâques mais nous n'avons pas trop eu de queue nous avons donc pu ressortir se reposer à l'hôtel avant d'y retourner en fin de journée.
Par contre, pour le reste (attractions d'eau, Harry Potter...) pas de soucis...
Entre Orlando et Miami, vous êtes passé par où au fait ? Sarasota, Ft Myers, Naples, Everglades...j'imagine ?

Nous avons fait 2 séjours en Floride. Le CR du second est ici :

pour le 1er, nous arrivions à Miami. Le J1 nous avons été à Naples en passant la journée à Shark Valley (rando en vélo au milieu des alligators , génial, mais fatiguant et en plein soleil), puis la loop road qui permet égaglement de voir pleins d'aligators, de serpents, de tortues depuis sa voiture. Il faut etre attentif pour voir les animaux mais c'est vraiment sympa. Ensuite coucher de soleil sur Naples Pier.
Le lendemain nous sommes retournés vers les Everglades pour un tour d'air boat. Puis nous avons filé à Tampa pour faire Bush Garden en J3.
Les J4, J5 et J6 nous les avons passés à Orlando pour faire les parcs universal et les outlets.
nous sommes ensuite redescendus sur Miami via Fort Lauderdale. et nous avons terminé notre séjour à Miami.
Au final, on a beaucoup aimé Naples, les outlets de Miromar, Siesta Key, passer le pont Sunshine skyway, les parcs d'attractions, et miami beach, wyndwool walls.
Pour aller visiter les Everglades, on partira tôt le matin de Naples.
On aimerait bien faire un tour d'airboat
et
une rando en vélo à Shark Valley ou la loop road en voiture.
On aura certainement pas le temps de faire Shark valley et la loop road.
Que nous conseilles-tu ? Shark valley et la loop road ?
Pour l'Airboat, on nous conseillé chez Captain Jack !?
Captain Jack se situerait à 65km de notre hôtel à Naples (1h de route).
On avait pensé le matin d'aller faire l'hydroglisseur chez Captain Jack à Everglades City.
Puis, d'aller faire la "Loop Road" sur le trajet vers Florida City. La loop road fait 26 miles (42km) suivant mes infos.
La loop road est-elle asphalté ou pas ? Facile de conduire dessus ? Dangereuse ?
Combien de temps avez-vous mis pour la Loop Road ?
Le soir, on logera à Florida City pour partir le lendemain matin vers les Keys.

Nous on avait fait shark valley en vélo le lendemain de notre arrivée en Floride. On y était arrivé vers 10h30/11h et la boucle nous avait pris 2/3h, on a adoré mais c'est assez fatigant car en plein soleil. On a vu des alligators partout, c'est assez impressionnant. Il faut absolument partie avec au moins 1.5L d'eau par pers. Il n'y a rien en vente sur la boucle. Un autre conseil: à l'aller on suit la route qui est plutôt rectiligne jusqu'à une sorte de petite tour qui donne un point de vue, et pour le retour je conseille de reprendre le chemin aller plutôt que de continuer la boucle. Avant mon séjour j'avais lu ce conseil que je n'avais pas suivi 😊 et je l'aI regretté : le reste de la boucle est plus long et il n'y a quasiment plus rien à voir. On a trouvé le temps très long pour rentrer. On était fatigué on avait soif et plus de croco à nous mettre sous la dent 🙂
On avait enchaîné par la loop road pour rallier Naples. La route n'est pas asphaltée mais elle ne pose aucun pb surtout qu'il faut rouler au pas si vous souhaitez apercevoir qq croco ou tortues. Je pense que le trajet nous a facilement pris 2h. Du coup nous n'avions plus le tps pour un airboat car nous voulions voir le coucher de soleil au Naples Pier. Nous sommes donc retournés le lendemain à everglade city pour en faire un tour. C'est génial !
Pour choisir le tour en airboat on avait utilisé un coupon de reduc trouvé à l'hôtel à Naples. Et en 2015 nous avions du changer sur place car il n'y avait plus de place dans la compagnie qu'on avait repéré.
La loop road est sympa mais vous y verrez moins de choses qu'à shark valley. Il faut bien regarder partout pour apercevoir les alligators qui sont planqués. Par contre c'est en voiture donc pas fatigant 🙂
A shark valley vous pouvez aussi faire le tour en petit train si vous n'avez pas assez de temps.

Je vous conseille tout de même le pass qui permet d'accéder aux deux parcs...
Je trouve personnellement le parc Universal Orlando bien mieux que celui de Burbank (LA).
Tu peux expliquer plus en détails comme t'as l'air de connaitre les 2 parcs d'Orlando !

Oui, je connais les deux. La partie de Harry potter dans le parc universal est vraiment balaise. Et l'attraction de ce côté des parcs est vraiment extra.
Il y a de bonnes attractions dans les deux parcs. Moi je préfère à chaque fois prendre un pass multi parc pour profiter des meilleures attractions des deux parcs.
Regarde sur le net les plans des deux parcs et cela te donnera une idée.
Difficile de choisir pour toi ensuite ! 😉

je lis la suite du programme : plutôt que la Loop Road, pourquoi ne pas faire 1 ou 2 randos tranquilles dans le parc des Everglades au lieu de rouler, encore rouler ...
Puisque tu vas dormir à Florida City ( si j'ai bien tout suivi ... ), il suffit d'aller de là au 1er Visitor Center et de choisir l'un et / ou l'autre des trails, à pied, dans la parc .
Le plus sympa : Anhinga Trail ; 2 kms en boucle dans la mangrove avec alligators , tortues , oiseaux ... ; TB tôt le matin ou, ce que nous avons fait, en toute fin de journée pour la belle lumière .
L'avantage sur la Road , c'est qu'on y est au coeur de la nature, que ce n'est pas monotone et que çà change un peu d'être assis au volant !

j'ai bien pris note. On fera le Anhinga Trail en fin de journée. ça démarre du Royal Palm Visitor Center si j'ai bien lu.
Après, on retournera vers Florida City pour passer la nuit avant les Keys.
Il n'y a aucun souci de marcher de 2km. J'ai même vu qu'elle ne fait que 1,3km (0.8 mile loop) donc...c'est vraiment pas énorme.

Au fait, nous avons fait Universal Studio en 2014 à LA et donc, on préfère découvrir un autre.
Les enfants ont choisi Islands of Adventure, le premier jour et un parc aquatique le second, Wet 'n Wild.
Question budget, on ne préfère pas trop de prendre des multipass (park-to-park) car le prix augmente vite et c'est déjà impossible de faire tout en un jour...j'imagine mal 2 parcs en un seul jour! Cela deviendrait un rally.
Apparemment, le prix pour "Islands of Adventure" est de plus de 100$ par personne! Pas donné.
Tu connais ces parcs apparemment. Quelles sont les attractions à ne pas rater selon toi ?
J'avais noté, de mon côté, comme attractions incontournables, dans cet ordre en rentrant dans le parc vers Marvel Super Hero Island :
Hulk, Spider-Man, Popeye, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Harry Potter, Hogwarts Express...

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:

- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.

Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
