Voilà plusieurs années que je prépare mes voyages en glanant de précieuses informations distillées dans les différents échanges de ce forum. Je profite donc ce post pour remercier tous ceux qui prennent le temps de faire part de leurs expériences. Après plusieurs heures de recherche, j'ai pu constaté que certains forumeur(euses) connaissent particulièrement bien la région concernée, alors j'espère que vous pourrez m'apporter votre éclairage.
Aller, aujourd'hui c'est moi qui lance un sujet !
Je vous explique donc mon cas... Nous partons du 15/08 au 01/09 dans le sud du Maroc. C'est évidemment pas la meilleure saison, mais pour pouvoir partager ces moments avec nos enfants (12 et 15 ans), nous n'avons guère le choix. Bref, je prévois 3 jours et 2 nuits pour aller de Foum Zguid (départ fin de matinée) à Mirleft (arrivée fin d'aprés-midi). Je pense qu'en termes de temps on devrait être bon. Là où ça se complique c'est le choix de l'itinéraire !! j'ai envisagé plusieurs options que je vous présente ci-dessous :
Plus tous les autres trajets et d'étapes auxquels je n'ai pas pensé...
Pour ma part, je partirai plutôt sur la première option car elle permet d'optimiser le temps de trajet tout en passant par Tafraoute. J'ai cru comprendre en lisant les différents posts que c'est une région magnifique qui mérite le détour. Par contre je ne suis pas sûre que l'étape sur Tata soit inintéressante.
Je suis donc preneur de tous les avis et conseils qui pourront m'aider à choisir le meilleur itinéraire : temps de circulation, état des routes, paysages le long de la route, intérêt de chacune des étapes, étapes intermédiaires, hôtels et restaurants, etc...
Au vu de la chaleur en cette période, ce serait vraiment parfait si nous pouvions trouver à chaque étape des endroits équipés d'une piscine 😛

En avis perso, dans ton truc, et pas forcément dans l'ordre!:
Tafraoute= 2 Nuits; Si tu as des sous, les Amandiers ont une piscine.
Taroudant= Les Orangers (à l'est de Taroudant) ont une piscine.
Tata= J'aime bien ce coin (la place à la Bibiche, le marché; Le bémol est que le "Relai des Sables à une piscine aussi glauque que l'accueil des gérants !!
Foum-Z'Guid= Un truc basique mais pas trop mal (auberge Iriki); Piscine? je ne me souviens pas.
Enfin, faire Foum'/ Mirleft dans la journée, c'est pour des Japonais.
Il y a qq temps:
Bouffe à Foum-Z'Guid; Départ vers 15h; Stop à Tissint, arrivée à Tafraoute vers 20/21h.
Mais chacun son rythme.
Accessoirement, en terre d'Islam, là ou on it "Inch'Allah", la notion de "Piscine" est parfois aussi aléatoire que la notion de "Bouillon de culture"! Mais ceux qui en seraient morts ne se sont jamais plaints sur cet estimable forum!!!!
Perso, j'ai survécu! Tout dépend de la chaleur dont on souffre à l'air libre et de l’apaisement que l'on espère trouver dans un milieu humide!!

Tata , j'aime , mais il est vrai que le relais des sables , non et l'hôtel de la Renaissance pas de piscine .
Foum Zguig pas de piscine à l'hôtel Iriki , mais l'hôtel Bab Rimal en a une , les prix sont un chouïa plus cher .
je dirais seulement de laisser sa chance à tafraout 🙂
1) pour sa situation dans la vallée des Ammelnes
2) pour l'auberge de l'arganier des Ammelns, son accueil et sa jolie piscine que tes jeunes vont apprécié +++
la piscine ce sera la cerise sur la gâteau si on trouve mais ce n'est pas indispensable.
J'ai prévu 2 jours pour faire foum z'guig - Tafraoute. J'hésite à passer par la N10 avec une étape à Talouine ou par la N12 avec une étape à Tata. As tu un avis sur le choix entre ces 2 itinéraires ?
Pour l'itinéraire via Tata, on peut peut être dépasser Tata pour trouver un coin sympa pour l'étape, vers imitek par exemple . A priori les solutions d'hébergement sur Tata sont très limitées et les avis plutôt moyen.
Il faut que tu revois entièrement t'es donnees horaires .
Il faut compter 40/50 kms heure en moyenne , sans compter les arrêts photos .
C'est une region que j'aime bien et que je parcours depuis de nombreuses années .
Foum Zguig a Taliouine il y a une route superbe quî part à droite Apres Tissint , a Taliouine piscine à l'hôtel du Safran , mais Escale rando est mieux .
Pour moi Tafraoute est incontournable, mais j'aime aussi Tata est ses oasis qui ne peuvent se faire en 1 ou 2 heures .
Tafraout -Mirleft 2heures 50', meme un japonais ne le ferait pas . Tiznit mérite une belle balade dans son souk , Mirleft franchement rien à voir . De Tiznit pour Mirleft prendre la route côtière ca vaut le détour en passant par Aglou .

Pour les temps de trajet je me suis basé sur une moyenne de 60 Km/h maxi, mais a priori je suis encore loin du compte....
Combien de temps faut il compter pour l'itinéraire foum zguig - Taliouine via tissint ? L’itinéraire via Tata et issafn est-il plus rapide ?
Encore mieux qu'une piscine dans un hôtel serait de trouver des coins naturels avec de l'eau. C'est ce qui m'avait donné envie initialent de faire le détour jusqu’à amtoudi. J'imagine que ça doit être difficile à trouver dans cette région et à cette époque... Est-ce que vous en connaissez en direction de tafraoute ?

Une petite oasis ( Tagmoute ) avec de l'eau entre Tata et Tafraout , de l'eau mais on ne peut pas se baigner , ensuite la route suit un cours d'eau mais en août je suppose qu'il, est à sec ou presque .
De FoumZguig à Taliouine j'ai fait ce trajet par Tissint en Maî dernier , je n'ai plus idee du temps passé , mais beaucoup plus que ce que vous comptez .
C'est une très belle region , mais elle demande un peu de temps pour la decouvrir .

c'est vraiment un endroit magnifique et possibilité de se baigner dans les bassins ...j'y reste toujours au moins 2 nuits tellement le coin est charmant et calme !

C'est vrai que de Tafraout on peut passer à Amtoudi en prenant la route qui passe à Ifrane de l'Anti Atlas et rejoindre Mirleft par Sidi Ifni , nettement plus long mais tres beau .
Malheureusement nous n'aurons pas le temps de faire tafraout et amtoudi... le choix entre les 2 est décidément très difficile !!!
Pour le trajet Tata - Tafraoute, Google map propose De prendre à gauche à issafn pour rejoindre tafraout sans avoir à faire le détour par igherm. Est-ce que vous savez si cette route est goudronnée ? avec une Logan de loc, on aimerait éviter les pistes trop dures... mais ca Google map il ne le dis pas !
Je ne veux pas m'avancer , mais il me semble qu'il y a de la piste , et avec une Logan on vas partout ou presque , mais pas si elle est en location . La route partirait d'Issafen pour arriver ver Ait Abdhallah ? Vers Ait Abdallah je n'ai pas vu d'indication et je prend souvent cette route pour aller à Igherm .
Mais le goudron arrive vite , alors si des fois tu tente tu me tiens au courant , ce seras un plaisir pour moi de devouvrir un autre itineraire .
Les deux autres routes passent par Igherm , mais c'est un vrai plaisir .

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...
Anyone here who can share their experience of returning? I specified “recently” because it seems that right now, diplomatic relations between the two governments are extremely tense, not to say hostile... even if Macron claims otherwise...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’m leaving for Tunisia in five weeks for a full 15-day trip. I’ll be arriving in Monastir and departing from there as well.
I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 4-5-6: Chefchaouen and a day hike in the Rif Mountains
Day 6-7: Discover the city of Fes (I’ve heard so many great things!!)
Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis
Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

I aimed for an excursion to the Chigaga desert from M’Hamid because it seems less touristy and allows for a more compact loop. Is that a good idea? Is the drive to M’Hamid maybe too tedious?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.

Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon
Day 6: Luxor
Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon

For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
Is it worth adding an extra day in Luxor?
During the stay, we’re planning activities like camel rides, quad biking, jeep tours, snorkeling, and jet skiing.
