C'est mon premier post sur le forum bien que je suis un lecteur regulier depuis un moment.
Je suis Guillaume, et je vis en Australie depuis un peu plus d'un an maintenant.
Je serai aux Philippines du 29 novembre au 19 decembre prochain.
J'ai pu lire plusieurs topic par rapport a ce pays, mais je reste encore avec pas mal de questions.
J'espere voir des endroits splendides, genre plages de sable blanc et eaux turquoises, mais aussi m'eclater un peu
en essayant quelques sports nautiques, plongee, ou toutes autres activites interessantes.
Par rapport aux messages du forum, je pense planifier mon itineraire de cette maniere, bien que l'ordre n'est pas du tout determine
Cebu (1-2 jours)
Dumaguet et Bohol (6 jours environ)
Bocaray (4-5 jours)
Palawan, el nido (4-5 jours)
Coron (4-5jrs)
Manille (2 jours)
J'arrive a Manille le 29 a 15H25, la seule possibilite de prendre un vol dans la journee est Cebu.
Pour les autres destinations, je dois attendre le lendemain car trop court en temps.
Je pense revenir a Manille le jeudi 16 ou vendredi 17 sachant que mon vol pour quitter le pays est le 19.
Donc, je voulez savoir pour les connaisseurs des phils comment mon itineraire pourrait etre modifie pour
s'ajuster au mieux a mes envies et a la duree de mon sejour, ou encore si d'autres endroits devraient
s'ajouter a mes plans.
De plus, avez vous des liens internet pour trouver des logements vraiment pas cher, genre moins de 10-15 euros la nuit?
Ou encore des liens pour les activites a faire? Tous liens utiles pour planifier mon trip sont les bienvenus. Merci.
Apres mes quelques jours a El nido, puis-je rejoindre Coron par bateau a prix raisonnable?
Derniere question, je n'ai jamais conduit de moto avant, mais vu les prix de location en asie j'enviagerai bien d'essayer.

Par ailleurs, pourquoi n'opte du pas pour le nord du pays ?
Simple curiosité car nous envisageons dès le 17 novembre un périple Manille-Banaue (rizières) mais nous nous demandons si les paysages seront à la hauteur, en novembre, des 20 heures de route aller retour !
Du coup, comme tu n'optes pas pour Banaue, tu as peut être une information là dessus !
Salut Guillaume, C'est vrai que c'est trop ambitieux ton trip, déja t'aurais du prendre un vol pour Cébu !!!Vu que tu reste dans le coin,
zappe Boracay et reste + longtemps sur Palawan. A Manille le Chilli-guest house est pas mal et dans tes prix ou le Malate pension
tous 2 situés a Ermita-Malate, Tape ca sur ton clavier!🙂

Au vu te ton itinéraire et de la durée de séjour; trop chargé à mon sens aussi; les temps de transports doivent être pris au sens large pour pallier d'éventuels imprévus.
Soit tu fais visayas, boracay et Manille (par exemple descente en bus/ferry de Manille à Cébu via Mindoro, Boracay, Panay, Négros, Bohol avec haltes visites.
Soit tu supprimes des choses pour inclure Palawan.

Je serai aussi là-bas le 21 nov jusqu'au 15déc. (après une semaine en Corée). Je ne connais pas grand chose du pays mais je veux y plonger et voir de belles montagnes plage idyliques etc... J'avoue être un peu sur le stress car je dois tout découvrir en peu de temps... Merci à Guillaume pour l'initiative, je suis ta discussion à la lettre. Si quelqu'un connais "the" site de plongée à voir sans que se soit le "wal mart" de la plongée, j'aimerais bien connaître ce petit coin caché.
Zappe Boracay et c'est bon et tu feras aussi des économies!

Donc je vais devoir modifier mes plans, pour les transports interieurs je prendrai Cebu Air/Zest Air ou encore Philippines airlines en privilegiant les vols direct. Cela ne semble pas couter une fortune, et pas plus de 1h-1h30 de vol.
Je ne vous cache pas que j'ai du mal a exclure Boracay de mes plans meme pour 2-3 jours. Les plages semblent bien sympa et si je peu sortir un peu ce serai pas mal.
Peut-etre mon temps a Coron est a reduire ou exclure. Je veux faire de la plongee, certe, mais je n'ai jamais plonge avant, et les wreck sont apparement a 30 metres de profondeur, donc j'imagine pour un debutant ce n'est peut-etre pas la meilleure destination? Des plongeurs avises peuvent t'ils m'en dire plus svp?
A propos de Coron, ca semble magnifique et il est peut-etre dommage de manquer cette destination me dans le cas ou je ne peu pas plonger?
J'ai pu lire que Apo reef est une bonne destination pour la plongee. Quel est le point de depart le moins cher et plus simple pour y acceder?
Je vais peut-etre pas rester a Cebu plus d'une nuit si necessaire.
Avez-vous des liens pour des logements pas cher? Surtout pour Palawan. Merci.
Concernant la plongée d'épave, je te la déconseille si tu n'a jamais plongée. Bien entendu Si t'es à l'aise dans l'eau tu t'y rendera et probablement tout se passera bien mais il existe une quérielle de dangers à connaître et c'est une spécialité de plongée. Pour débuter vive les plongées coraliennes de multiples couleurs et de faune de toute sortes. En théorie les gars ne t'amèneront pas si tu n'as pas tes cartes (quoi que dans certains pays $ = pas de problème) si t'as des spots de plongée intéressants je suis preneur d'adresse ! J'y serai dans 2 semaines !!! En attendant le froid s'installe tranquilement sur Montréal...

Si tu n' as jamais plongé, tu ne seras pas authorisé à aller sur les épaves de Busuanga sauf paddy advenced necessary minimal!
APO reef de même qui est atteignable de depuis Pandian island et mindoro!!
Tu es en train de perdre le nord si tu ne zappes pas Boracay et si tu préfères les boites et être cool vas y et zappe Busuanga .
de toute façon tu ne pourras pas faire le parcours que tu envisages , alors ne rajoutes pas Apo reef, c'est encore autre chose et là tu pars tous azimuths !

Coron est magnifique et si tune connais pas bien Cebu , tu vas perdre ton temps encore!
Cebu est une grande île mais il faut connaitre ou apprendre a connaitre les bons coins et ton séjour est trop court pour cela.

Avant de répondre a quiam, je te dirai franchement qu'il a raison d'éviter LUZON et surtout le Nord et donc les rizières de mi septemvre à mi decembre.
Nombreux sont les chauffeurs privés qui accepteront de vous conduire (vers Banaue) mais sans plus a cette période ou sous réserve du temps.
2005 - après le 12 septembre : Nous remontons sur Luzon et pluies intenses à Legaspi (4J non stop) puis avions vers MNL et là inondations ... il nous est difficile de rejoindre Bulacan.
2009 - Arrivé le 21 septembre à MNL, 24 à bulacan et le 26 innondation = montée d'eau jusqu'a 2,1 M de haut en 12 hrs à Bulacan et cela va descendre jusqu'a manille et laguna bay. (Voir photo sur mon site)
2009 - Pinatubo fermé car un car de japonnais a été enseveli par les boues ...
Je dirai que la meilleure période pour visiter les rizières reste l'été un rien étiré soit 15 fev à fin mai - fin juin

Sinon réserver une semaine pour cette endroit (voir tour et carte sur mon site) et faire Banaue, Batad, Bontoc, sagada, Baguio, et le pinatubo est certe un beau tour

je me permets de compléter tes informations car en arrivant à 15h25 il reste de nombreux vols; Zest Air a un vol a 17h40 pour Kalibo par exemple, que tu as largement le temps d'attraper, sinons ils volent aussi un peu plus tard en soirée vers 23h25 et 23h40. De Kalibo tu peux rejoindre Boracay qui est à 2h de route.
Sinon sans trop rentrer dans le débat Boracay oui ou non; je pense que ça vaut le coup d'y aller au moins une fois, surtout quand on est jeune... après, j'y passerais pas ma vie non plus. Il y a des coins vraiment sympa et pas blindés de touristes vers Station 3, genre Dave's Straw Hat Inn ou Moreno's Place qui sont vraiment très tranquilles et intéressants.

Pour pasayeno. Je pensais que le vol a 17H40 pour Kalibo etais trop tot, le temps de recup mes bagages depuis Philippines Airlines et de check-in avec Zest Air, j'avais donc exclus cette option. Je n'ai pas vu qu'ils avaient un vol a 23h, dommage, j'ai reserve mon vol le 30 avec Cebu Pacific vers Caticlan, et resterai donc le 29 au soir a Manille.
Je resterai au Frendz backpackers a Boracay, prix correct et exellent feedback. Comme tu l'as dit, je suis jeune, 21 ans, et donc une destination comme Boracay peut me convenir. J'y resterai 4 jours avant de prendre l'avion pour Cebu city le 5 decembre. Je prendrai dans la foulee un ferry pour Bohol je pense avec Ocean Jet. Quoique j'hesite encore si il y avais la possibilite de bouger sur Apo Island.

J'ai un avion pour Puerto Princesa depuis Cebu le 9 decembre. Je pense monter vers El nido le lendemain, mais aucun plan n'est encore fixe, j'ai vraiment envie d'en voir et d'en faire un max sur Palawan. Je dois etre de retour le 18 a Manille, j'hesite encore si je prendrai le boat de el nido a Coron, puis l'avion avec Cebu Pacific. Pensais-vous que restais une journee sur Coron, genre j'arrive le 16 et repars le 18 vaut la peine et donc faire un day trip dans les lagoons?
Aussi, des suggestions en termes d'activites, lieux a voir et logement pour Palawan? Ou encore Bohol et Apo Island?

Salut Nav, tout va bien pour toi j'espère :) De retour aux Philippines également après quelques mois passés en France pour remplir les comptes, et on repart avec de nouveaux projets, pour l'instant sur Manille :D
Mes parents repassent également aux Philippines en même temps que toi cette fois ci pour 2 mois! Ils sont addicts!
C'est quand même tendu comme itinéraire sur la fin tu risques d'en avoir un peu marre de courir autant. Pour le day trip à Coron tu auras le temps de faire les 2 lacs, pause sur une petit plage pour déjeuner+snorkel et snorkeling sur une des épaves qui affleure à la surface. Le soir tu peux aller te baigner de nuit (le jour il fait trop chaud 😉) dans les sources d'eau chaude. Est-ce que le voyage vaut le coup pour cette unique journée? pour moi, non: ça reste quand même assez similaire à El Nido et le vrai intérêt c'est la plongée dans les épaves.
Surtout que t'es pas sur qu'il y ai un bateau de El nido a Coron, c'est aléatoire , surtout en cette saison, méfiance...
Pour apo Island il faut aller a Dumaguete (Négros Or.) facilement accessible de Cébu-city par boat (2h)!

j'ai une autre question, j'ai un avion le 9 decembre a 11h de Cebu pour Puerto Princesa, mais je ne sais pas si je peux rester a panglao jusqu'au 9 au matin, prendre le ferry avec ocean jet qui arrive a 8.30 a Cebu et avoir le temps de prendre cet avion?
ou est il preferable de quitter panglao le soir et passer la nuit a Cebu?
Compte 45 minutes du pier jusqu'à l'aéroport, ça parait jouable, il me semble que les check-in cebu pacific ferment 45 minutes avant l'heure de départ.

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We’re heading to Vietnam as a family on July 8th for a little over 3 weeks (north and center). We’ve only booked the first 3 nights in Hanoi, and nothing else after that. We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.

• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
