grâce à certains ici présent, notre itinéraire se précise, il reste néanmoins quelques questions.
Ce Road Map n'est bien évidement qu'un fil conducteur et sera certainement modifié au cours du voyage, en fonction des aléas du voyage, ou tout simplement si on a envie de rester plus de temps à un endroit, je pense notament à Palawan pour Puerto P, Sabang et Port Barton...
Nous allons passé le moins longtemps possible à Manille, mais nous avons besoin de faire quelques achats, comme tailleur, bague de fiancailles.
J'ai quelques adresse, récupérer ici et là.
Ensuite, on monte sur Banaue, Sagada, retour Manille, puis Palawan...

Moi je peux juste parler du vol Manille/Puerto Princesa A/R que j'ai réservé pour mon voyage aux Philippines (du 20oct au 11 nov 06).
J'ai comparé les vols sur les sites de Air Philippines, Asian Spirit et Philippines Airlines, j'ai trouvé un A/R pour 4067 PhP (environ 60 €) sur Philippines Airlines.
Il y a 3 à 4 vols par jours (suivant les jours), la plupart le matin, 1h10 de vol .

Sortie de Manille tres facile: prendre EDSA (vers le nord), au SM north tourner a gauche, puis prendre la bretelle sur votre droite indiquee par le panneau NLE (north luzon express way) pour rentrer sur l'autoroute. Apres 50 km environs, sortir de l'autoroute a Plaridel/Pulilan. Ensuite c'est toujours tout droit. Attention le bifurquation pour la route qui monte a Banaue est sur la gauche, mais indiquee. Apres cette bifurcation, 2 ou 3 stations essence, penser faire le plein.
Manille Banaue via Bayombong: 10h
Partir de preference tot le matin (6h) pour eviter les bouchons de la sortie de Manille et eviter de finir le trajet en pleine nuit.

Alors voici les nouvelles questions et les autres sans réponse :
1/Je pensais que la route Manille=>Banaue était un peu moins longue, du coup, pour le retour Sagada=>Manille (12h00) on va faire un stop après 6-7h00 de route et retirer une nuit à El Nido!
Avez vous un endroit où on peut dormir sur la route, via Baguio?
Vaut il mieux louer un 4x4 ou une voiture "normale" fera l'affaire (mi novembre).
2/à Manille, si on veut un peu visiter, y a t"il quelque chose à faire quand même?
3/Que vaut puerto Princessa? ça vaut le coup de rester, où vaut il mieux passer plus de temps sur El Nido?
Pour le resto, on m'avait conseillé le RED du Sangri LA, je pense qu'on va prendre celui là ;)

Il y a 3 ans, il y avait le vieil aéroport international, l'aéroport de la PAL et l'aéroport des autres lignes intérieures.
Depuis, j'espère que le nouvel aéroport international est ouvert, mais je n'en suis pas certain, vu que l'ancien s'appellait NAIA soit Ninoy Aquino International Airport, comme celui qui est sur ta résa.
Mais que fait Khrapka ? Il pourrait nous dire précisément ce qu'il en est.
Bon, je viens de regarder un peu les vols sur les compagnies, et le problème, c'est qu'on ne peut pas repartir de El Nido le 30/11 :(
De plus, le vol El Nido <=> Manille est super cher : 6272PHP 🤪
Par contre, il y a un vol Manille => El Nido le 19/11.
Du coup, on pourrait faire Manille => Banaue => Manille => El Nido => SABANG => Puerto Princessa => Manille
1/ J'ai lu qu'il y avait des charters entre El Nido => Manille par Island Transvoyager, mais impossible d'avoir les dates de vols et surtout les tarifs.
2/ J'ai aussi regarder pour partir de Tatay, par Asian Spirit, mais pas trouver :(

Je vous conseille vivement un 4x4, enfin pas forcement un 4 roues motrices, ce qu il faut c est une voiture type 4x4, un peu surelevee par rapport a une voiture normale... Par contre, verifiez qu'il y a une roue de secours et tout ce qu'il faut pour changer une roue!!! Il y a des vulcanizing shops presque partout...
Perso, j'ai deja fait la route d'un trait toute seule... c'est long mais tres faisable, la routre est belle, on ne roule pas tres vite donc ca va. Le mieux est de partir tres tot...
2/Pourquoi pas un bon massage apres votre journee shopping... The spa, greenbelt 1 ou Jupiter street. (800Php pour les bains a bulles chauds, froids, sauna, hamman et 1h de massage). Perso, je suis accro!
3/Je ne connais pas Puerto Princessa, mais si vous avez peu de tps mieux vaut le passer a El Nido... El Nido est un petit village dans un cadre fantastique... Puerto Princessa, c est une ville...
Aeroports: pas de panique !
Il y a 3 aeroports a Manille + 1 tout neuf qui ne fonctionne pas!!!
Aeroport international: KLM, Singap, Cathay... +toutes les companies internationales
Aeroport Philippines Airlines Centennial 2: Uniquement les companies Philippines Airlines et Air Philippines, que se soit pour voyager aux Philippines ou a l etranger avec Philippines airlines et Air Philippines.
Domestic airport: tous les autres companies pour les vols Domestic: Asian spirit, Cebu Pacific, Seair, ...
Le mieux, c'est de dire la companie aerienne au chauffeur de taxi, normalement ils savent. ATTENTION, sauf pour Air Philippines, c'est nouveau depuis le 1er septembre que leurs vols partent de Centennial, avant ils partaient du Domestic airport, donc certains chauffeurs ne savent pas encore...C est simple, non?
Les 3 aeroports sont a moins de 10 min les uns des autres. Si on se trompe, on a le temps de se rattrapper, on se tape juste un bon coup de stress, mais ca fait partie du voyage!

Construit par des allemands, il y a un contentieux financier qui dure donc depuis 3 ans, rien que de très courant aux Philippines.
Je me souviens avoir lu un article là dessus quand j'attendais mon avion au NAIA.
Une particularité du NAIA, il n'y a pas de consigne à bagages, très pratique au retour quand on a une demi-journée d'attente.
Island Transvoyager est un transporteur prive qui assure la liaison pour les resorts de luxe de Lagen et Miniloc. Quand l avion n est pas plein, ils acceptent des personnes qui ne sont pas du resort. Mais la resa ne peut se faire que dans un delai de 5 jours a l avance si tu n es pas du resort... Les prix c est genre 5000Php de memoire... L'avion est un 19 places (comme Seair ou asian spirit)
Taytay-Manille par Seair maintenant, tous les matins, il part a 6.45 de Manille, doit arriver vers 7.45 et repartir sur Manille vers 8.00 am. Possibilite de dormir a Taytay, il y a un resort tenu par un francais je sais, mais je ne connais pas...
El Nido-Manille, tous les mardis et vendredis... Tu peux donc prendre le vol du vendredi 24 a 15.30
Sache aussi que PPricessa Sabang c est 3h max et pas 6h, par contre ca ne peut pas se faire en Jeepney. Malheureusement le seul jeepney de la journee part juste avant l arrivee de l avion! C est fait expres bien sur. Du coup il faut prendre une voiture... En negociant bien c est 2000 ou 2500P... Il y a un guichet pour les touristes a l interieur de l aeroport pour reserver une voiture, si tu ne veux pas te faire sauter dessus par tous les drivers a la sortie.
Aller a Palawan c est toujours un casse tete! Je te recapitule:
3 aeroports: PPrincessa, vols tous les jours / Taytay: vols tout les jours le matin / El Nido: vols tous mardis et vendredis le pm + A El Nido, bateau de nuit part de Manille le vendredi soir, et part de El nido le dimanche soir. + a El Nido le plan Island Transvoyager avec ses inconvenients...
Bon, grâce à vous tous (encore Merci), j'ai du replanifier notre itinéraire en changeant l'ordre El Nido > Puerto Princessa...
J'espère qu'on ne vas pas trop courrir, besoin quand même de repos, lol!
Au pire des cas, on restera à El Nido tout le temps, et on fera l'impasse sur Port barton et Sabang, et on rejoindra Puerto Princessa d'une seule traite!

Salut Alice, dans le guide de peters, il indioque une autre route pour faire Manille=>Banaue.
Angelès, Tarlac, Gerone, Guimba, San José, Bagabag, Banaue
Ils disent que c'est mieux que de faire celle que tu m'as conseillé, tu en penses quoi?
Je conseille la meme route qu'Alice: ce n'est pas genial de la sortie de l'autoroute jusqu'a Gapan, mais apres ca roule plutot bien.
La route Angeles-Tarlac-Gerone est remplie de camions qui font le trajet Baguio-Manille. 🙁
D'ailleurs, sur votre itineraire retour, si vous avez un peu de temps, je vous conseille de redescendre de Baguio via Pangasinan-Zambales. Ca prend 3 heures de plus mais la route est superbe et sans circulation.
Restez le moins possible a manille! Le reste de l'itinéraire et bien.Tu peux choisir entre sagada et banaue(ou l'un ou l'autre) si tu veux gagner du temps car les 2 sont semblables(magnifiques).Pour palawan, el nido est le plus beau, bien que barton et sabang(ou j'ai passer 6 mois dans une cabane de pecheur)sont de petits villages sympathiques.
puerto princessa est agréable quant on reste longtemps a palawan car ça change des petits villages(+ d'animation, ).J'y allais 2 jours par mois pour faire des achats car dans les villages pas grand choix.Le marché est sympa(fruits, poissons)ainsi que le quartier des pecheurs sur pilotis. 1 journée sera suffisante pour vous .
Pour les déplacements c'est un peu compliqué et long de plus qu'en novembre la mer est agité. Peut etre il est préférable de rester a el nido vu votre temps limité. A voir !

Tres bonne question! 2 reponses:
1/ Au retour, tu ne prends pas le meme chemin, tu devras donc faire un detour expres pour aller rechercher ta voiture
2/ L'endroit ou tu dois laisser ta voiture n'est pas tres safe (d'apres les gens du coin). En fait, c'est juste que c'est un bord de route completement isole dans la montagne et en pleine nuit, cela pourrait tenter certains de venir se servir en pieces detachees. En la laissant pres du Sanafe Lodge (en ville), tu peux y laisser tes affaires perso. et ne partir a Batad qu'avec un petit sac a dos pour 2 jours... Tres appreciable.
Prix chambre pour 2 ou 4 au Sanafe Lodge: de 300Php a 500Php de memoire (ou Dorm. 50Php)

Sinon, autre chose, et je ne sais pas si tu vas pouvoir nous renseigner, mais, je voudrais offrir une belle bague de fiancaille à ma dulcinée, je me suis renseigné un peu partout, on me conseille d'aller à Glorietta et Greenbelt.
1/ Y a t'il des risque de tomber sur des joaillers peu scrupuleux qui vont essayer de nous entuber?
2/ J'aimerai une bague (on a le dessin) avec un diamant, est-ce que tu crois que ça vaut le coup. La bague à paris vaut 4000€, or blanc 750 + diamants 0.7 carats qualité H/I, pureté P1
3/ As tu des conseils sur le sujet?
Eventuellement, je pensais faire le tour des joaillers du centre commercial.
Leur commander la bague, et entre Banaue et Palawan, on y repasse pour vérifier que tout va bien.
A notre retour de Palawan, on récupère la bague, mais avant de payer, je prends la bague (et laisse ma nana dans la boutique), et je vais dans un autre joailler (que j'aurais préalablement sélectionné), pour la faire expertiser moyennant un petit billet.
A Greenbelt ou Glorietta, je ne pense pas que tu te feras entuber... Pas besoin de laisser ta nana en otage pendant que tu fais expertiser sa bague! Et pas tres romantique, mais ca c'est un avis personnel, sorry... Anyway, je ne pense pas qu'ils te laisseront sortir de la boutique sans avoir payé, meme contre ta nana et aussi jolie soit elle!
Dans les malls de Makati, les bijouteries sont souvent des chaines genre Michelli's, tu peux aller jeter un coup d'oeil, mais je ne sais pas si ils font du sur mesure...
J'ai 2 bons contacts de vrais joaillers, je te les envois asap.
Tip: ici la pratique du downpayment est courante. Lorsque tu commandes quelque chose, il est normal de payer une partie du prix final en avance. Pas forcement enorme... mais 10-20% c'est un minimum.

Bon, au final, pour la bague, on va pas se prendre la tête à Manille, j'ai trouvé un site web (recommandé par des experts en Diamants), où je pourrai acheter juste la pierre, et j'ai un joallier qui me la met sur une monture qui me va bien...
Pour le reste du voayge, j'ai tout recopié tes conseils sur mon road map, et grâce à toi, on va pouvoir gagner beaucoup de temps.

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...
