J'ai fait 3 semaines en islande en semptembre 2007 et ça s'est très bien passé.
Le temps est capricieux, ça c'est sur, et ton itinéraire doit mieux être souple.
Par ex, on a du rester une journée non prévue à Kirkjubaerjarklaustur (et ou iça existe) à s'emmerder pour aller au Laki, à cause du brouillard.
D'une manière globale, la météo est valable du jour au lendemain, pas plus.
L'avantage de septembre, c'est que la saison haute est finie, et que d'une part c'est moins cher, et de l'autre il y a bcp moins de monde, donc plus besoin de réserver. Il faut savoir qu'il y a tres peu d'endroits ou dormir, particulierment sur la péninsule ouest, et dans les terres donc ça a son importance. J'ai fait une nuit dans la voiture dans le Landmnalaugar c'est tout.
Bref, la météo est acceptable, et les jours où il fait beau c'est sublime !
Néanmoins la meilleure période semble être juin, où la météo est plsu stable (attention stable en islande c'est relatif quand même...)

pour ce qui est de la météo en Islande, faire des prévisions à la journée est parfois impossible alors dire ce qu'il va faire demain ... saufe le vent que tu peux prévoir qu'il va souffler 24/24h pendant les 12 prochains mois !!!! je te conseilles vivement fin juin et juillet, alors ok c'est la pleine saison mais bon on est en Islande faut pas oublier quand on a 8/10 personnes sur un site c'est quasiment la marée humaine !!! de plus à cette époque journée d'ensoleillement en continu 24/24h de luminosité (j'ai pas dis de soleil, hein !!) la floraison est à son comble pour les rares parcelles enherbées.

Niveau budget, ça m'avait couté 4000 euros à deux, avec loc de 4*4 (1600) essence (600) bouffe + hebergement (1000) et avion (700).
J'y ai passé 17 jours, c'était un peu speed mais on a bien profité quand même.
Je conseillerai 3 semaines, pour passer un jour de plus dans le Landmannalaugar, voir un peu le nord ouest, et prévoir un ou deux jours de sécurité, en raison de la sacro sainte météo :-)
Je suis en train d'uploader sur youtube les vidéos que j'ai fait (2h qui retracent tout le périple) ça t'aidera probablement à faire ton choix :-)
pour ce qui est de prendre la plaine mesure de l'Islande, certains ont dû y partir à plusieurs reprises tellement ils sont devenus accro à l'Islande (de très beaux sites persos racontent très bien cela) donc difficile de répondre à ta question, surtt que certaines personnes avec 1 semaine seront rassasiées d'Islande, d'autres il leur faudra beaucoup plus de temps. savoir aussi si t'es un adepte de la rando découverte ou pas car tu peux doubler facilement le temps de ton voyage en faisant des ballades tous les 2-3 jours. pour l'aspect finances là aussi tu comptes faire du camping sauvage, du camping, hotels, guest-house, ... manger des sandwishs, au resto ? tu peux t'en tirer pour un prix convenanble comme tripler ou quadrupler ton prix idem pour les transports, renseignes nous un peu sur ton projet de voyage

mon projet est simple c est de reste suffisament longtemps pour decouvrire les principaux cites mais aussi de me rendre dans des endroits qui son epargnes par le tourisme decouvrire aussi le mode de vie des habitants qui sont eloignes je pense par exemple dans le nord de l ile ce qui me fait un peu souci c que je n parle pas un un mot d anglais et de surcroit je souhaiterais faire ce voyage avec ma femme qui elle aime avoir une certaine securite ou une assurance au moin au niveau de la langue pour communiquer ca serait rassurant donc il me faudrait quelques arguments pour pouvoir la convaincre voila mon projet je vais y parvenir 😛 mais il me faut des infos salut et merci
Vas faire un tour sur le forum France-Islande, tu y trouveras plein d'infos et des gens passionnés par ce pays .
Du point de vue sécurité, tu auras du mal à trouver un pays plus sûr .
Si ta femme parle un peu l'anglais, il n'y aura pas de problème car cette langue est parlée par presque tout le monde là-bas sinon il faudra faire avec les gestes ....
Nous sommes en train de réfléchir à la meilleure formule pour parcourir l'Islande, Autotour ou location de voiture + avion en individuel. J'ai déjà fait des simulation pour la location de voiture et les prix à ce jour sont assez exorbitants + de 2000 euros pour 3 semaines, et pour un 4x4 n'en parlons pas !

ça doit dépendre de la période j'imagine, mais en passant par autoescape.com, c'est sur que tu n'auras pas moins cher. J'avais un Toyota rav4 pour 18 jours à envrion 1800 euros.
C'est vrai que là je viens de regarder, et c'est quasiment le double pour juillet. Si tu prends fin aout jusqu'à mi septembre, ça coute à peine plus de 2000 euros.
En gros pour 3 semaines à deux il faut compter 2000 euros de voiture, 700 de carburant, 400 de bouffe et 800-900 de logement.
Soit environ 4000. Compte 4500 actuellement ça semble avoir augmenté contre toute logique (pays en crise)

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊
