En fait en regardant les discutions des autres on apprend pas mal de choses sur le pays .De mon coté je ne suis pas novice et je connais pas mal l'Afrique pour l'avoir pratiqué et y avoir passé du temps .Disons qu' aujourd'hui je serai plutôt a la recherche d'infos, les bons plans qui font que quand on arrive là bas on ne soit pas dépaysée, connaitre les petits trucs.faire attention à ceçi à cela.Egalement quel est l'attitude des ''blancs'' envers les locaux ? Comment sont ils perçus en général, même si on est tous différents..J'aimerais également savoir quel type de relation les expats ont entre eux...Comment se passe les soirées en semaine apres le boulot, ce que l'on fait en général le week end etc, etc..et tout ça à Port Gentil de préference.
En tout cas merçi bcp Mlle choucarde tu as l'air d'être passionnée par ton expérience et tu en fais bien profité les autres @+
Port Gentil je ne connais pas vraiment, j'ai vécu plus à LBV et puis sur Bitam et Oyem où il y a tres tres peu d'expat du moins à l'époque. Je pense que les relations doivent etre comme sur Libreville entre expat, bouffe les uns chez les autres, restaus, plages, sorties en mer. Après le boulot, piscine, sport, apero ! A Libreville le milieu expat est un peu fermé, parfois gonflant mais ça ce n'est que mon avis perso. Je te conseille de lire le post de Bibimakima dans la disussion "où s'habiller à Libreville", car je dirais les memes choses qu'elle. Comment les blancs sont ils perçus, je pense que ça dépend du milieu social, de la région et je n'ai pas assez connu Port Gentil pour te dire quoique ce soit à ce propos . Dépaysé tu le seras par la beauté du pays!

Oui tu peux trouver neuf et d'occaz, mais tout est plus cher et en occaz ce n'est pas le meme rapport qualité prix en majorité et je pense qu'à POG c'est meme + cher du moins en neuf. Si tu fais venir du matériel que tu possedes déjà il faut avoir les factures de chacun des appareils pour la douane.

Salut,
Port Gentil est la ville économique du Gabon. Son activité économique tourne essenciellement autour des métiers du pétrole. En terme de dimension, ca représente pour toi qui vient de Bordeaux, la superficie d'une petite ville comme Talance. A côté de plusieurs défaillances du service publique (eau et éléctricité notament), la ville possède son petit charme éxotique. Ses plages et son soleil t'aideront à garder le sourir pendant tes jours de blues.
Mais Port Gentil c'est aussi une ville renommée pour sa chèreté. Tout coûte chèr. Le mobilier, les fringues et les aliments sont importés d'europe et coûtent les yeux de la tête. Certains expats, parcontre, commencent à écumer les marchés populaires de la ville en quête d'aliments plus frais et moins chèrs. Les menusiers locaux fabriquent du mobilier plus adapté aux conditions climatiques et à des prix à mon avis plus que raisonables. Mais les expat ont souvent du mal à rentrer dans le Port Gentil profond pour trouver toutes ces richesses et préfèrent pour 90% d'eux s'arrêter aux magasins du centre ville où ils dépensent des sommes astronomiques pour des appareils qui reviennent en grande majorité de Dubaï, sans aucune garantie.
Les soirées à Port Gentil sont plûtot très arrosées. Après une journée difficile, les très nombreux pub de la ville seront ravis de vous ouvrir leur porte. La clientèle y est plutôt chaleureuse (des fois un peu trop même). Les risques de bagarres ou d'agressions dans les pub sont quasi-nuls.
