J'ai bien trouvé quelques post qui traitent de prêt ou de loin le sujet, mais pas vraiment de réponses à mes questions...
Je suis actuellement en Thaïlande, et le prochain pays sur ma route sera la Birmanie. J'en suis déjà assez impatient et j'essaye d'anticiper un peu la façon de faire pour obtenir un visa pour l'Inde, et aussi l'endroit le plus simple pour passer la frontière (Myanmar-Inde).
Savez vous si le visa s'obtient sans trop de difficultés à Rangoon? Et est ce qu'il est demandé de fournir des documents du style billets d'avion , entrée ou sortie, dates précises etc... Tous ces documents super embêtant, surtout pour les gens qui ne prennent pas l'avion! J'aime tellement quand on me demande simplement de remplir un papier avec le n°de passeport, la couleur de mes yeux et le nom de mon papa :)
J'aimerais aussi savoir si quelqu'un à traversé cette frontière, et comment ça s'est passé !
Dernière petite curiosité, y a t-il des voyageurs en Birmanie depuis les élections de ce mois-ci? J'ai entendu dire que ça ne change pas grand chose pour les touristes que nous sommes, vous confirmez?

Je pense que c'est interdit de passer la frontière entre le Myanmar et L'inde.
Je me souviens d'un polonais qui voyager en stop et il voulait rejoindre l' Inde via terrestre par le Myanmar .On avait fait des recherches ensemble via internet mais la seule chose qu'on a pu trouver c'était d'un convoi de touristes( mobil-home) via une agence touristique qui traverser la frontière mais en payant une somme assez élevèe .
Mais , il a quand même été jusqu'à la frontière mais rien à faire il a dû rebrousser chemin.
Je ne voudrais pas te décourager mais essaye quand même et à la limite fait ton visa pour l'Inde à BKK et puis si ça va pas, tu prends un avion à Mandalay pour Calcutta...c'est pas cher...

L'option avion n'est pas encore au programme pour l'instant, mais je vais quand même jeter un oeil sur les Mandalay Calcutta !
Je suis déjà en attente du visa Birman à Bangkok, faire les deux visas me ferait faire un séjour bien trop long ici!

c'était fin 2013. Certes, la Birmanie change mais pas pour tout le monde...
Qui plus est, je suis entrain de faire des recherches pour traverser la frontière de L'Inde vers la Birmanie et la réponse est la même .
Donc, des deux côtés impossible mais bon ...je pense que j'irai jusqu'au Nagaland et puis je verrai ...si pas , je rebrousserais chemin .
Je comprends...mais le visa pour la Birmanie , ils te font dans la journée . Puis pour l'Inde , mieux le faire aussi à BKK au moins ça va plus vite mais bon à chacun son rythme de voyage.
En fait je récupère mon passeport demain et ça m'a pris un peu de temps, j'ai préféré le faire en trois jours (moitié moins cher !) et ambassade fermée aujourd'hui bref ça fait presque une semaine que je suis là et je n'ai pas trop le courage d'enchaîner la même avec l'ambassade indienne! J'ai aussi lu qu'à Rangoun ça peut être faisable...
Pour ce qui est du passage de frontière je continue mes recherches! J'ai pour l'instant vu des infos assez contradictoires, et plus ou moins récentes. En tout cas je te fais signe si j'ai du nouveau, j'attends notamment un mail d'une agence birmane qui à l'air assez renseignée sur le sujet.

voici un message que j'avais posté peu de temps après mon passage.
J'ai traversé la frontière Moreh Tamu le 5 janvier dernier. Tu auras définitivement besoin du permit birman pour traverser. Je l'ai obtenu à l'agence exotic travel à Yangoon pour 80$. Tous les voyageurs que j'ai rencontré étaient passé par cette agence il semble que c'est la moins cher.
C'est une fois arrivé à la frontière que ça s'est un peu compliqué. Les douaniers birmans m'ont présenté un papier officiel qui datait du 3/01 (deux jours plus tôt !) où il était écrit que depuis le 1er janvier il était nécessaire d'avoir un permit indien pour entrer dans la région du Manipur.
Ça a été la douche froide pour moi car aller jusqu'à Bangkok pour trouver un avion était tout simplement impensable.
Les douaniers m'ont donc proposé de passer du côté indien sans tampon de sortie et de voir si ils me laissent entrer. Pratique étonnante mais j'ai tenté le coup! J'etais donc libre dans le village de Moreh pour trouver le bureau de frontière, opapier officiel mais ne savaient pas vraiment ce qu'ils devaient faire. Ils m'ont finalement accordé d'entrer en Inde sans difficultés. Je n'avais plus qu'à retourner du côté birman pour avoir un tampon de sortie et ça y est, j'étais officiellement en Inde!
J'ai été ensuite contrôlé au moins 8fois par des militaires sur la route jusqu'à Imphal mais pas de problèmes.
Voilà j'ai essayé de synthétiser au maximum mais ce passage s'est fait dans la confusion la plus totale vous l'aurez compris!
Il y'a de grandes chances que ça soit à nouveau simple de traverser, mais je vous conseille d'axer vos recherches sur la nécessité ou non d'avoir un permit pour le côté indien!
Le but de mon message n'est pas de vous dissuader de passer par là, bien au contraire! Si c'était à refaire je n'hésiterai pas car la région du nord est de l'Inde est boudée par les touristes, mais a été un des meilleurs moments de mon voyage! On ne se sent pas encore en Inde, et on y trouve des gens charmants originaires de toute l'Asie, une parfaite transition entre Birmanie et Inde.
Je voyage par voie terrestre depuis la Chine et je suis maintenant en Iran, et la frontière Tamu Moreh est très certainement une journée dont je me souviendrai ! :)

En effet, c'est à Yangon que j'ai fais mon visa. C'est trois jours il me semble mais j'avais déposé le dossier un Vendredi, il y avait un jour férié (comme toutes les semaines j'ai l'impression) bref j'avais une bonne semaine d'attente j'en ai profité pour faire un aller-retour sur la côte à l'ouest de Yangon dans une petite station balnéaire à la mode birmane, j'y ai passé des moments fantastiques. J'ai ensuite obtenu le visa pour 6 mois double entrée. (C'est le même prix que 3 mois single entry) Prévoir par contre une 50taine de dollars tout neufs!
L'info en plus : si vous êtes prêts à dépenser deux ou trois dollars de commission, il y a une petite agence à deux rues de l'ambassade qui peut vous monter votre dossier en 10 minutes. Ils prennent les photos, ils font l'inscription en ligne et autres détails dont je ne me souviens plus...

Car j'ai essayé de l'obtenir à Bangkok ce visa, mais ils m'ont fait comprendre, en 1er temps, qu'il me fallait faire un "e-visa" (mais ca demande de prendre l'avion...) et la 2ème fois, ben ils n'avaient pas de réponse...🤪
J'y vais lundi à l'ambassade de Yangon, voir si je peux avoir des réponses et pourquoi pas LE visa...
Si vous allez directement à l'ambassade sans avoir fait de demande en ligne avant, ils vous dirigerons vers cette fameuse petite agence. C'est la meilleure façon de faire à mon avis!
De retour de l' ambassade, en ayant le formulaire remplit, photo et dollar le dossier peut etre depose ...facile . je ne sais pas si tu comptais traverser passe LA frontiere inde birmanie, je reviens de l'agence exotic travel qui m'ont dit qu'ils ne delivrent plus de permission pr cette frontiers... Du coup nous devions passer dans le sens Myanmar-Inde mi-octobre avec mon copain, mais ça s'annonce compliqué avec les fermetures inopinées...
Savez vous s'il est possible de savoir à l'avance si la frontière est ouverte, en écrivant à l'agence exotic travel par exemple ?
La solution la plus simple serait sinon de revenir sur Bangkok pour prendre un avion, ce qui est un peu embêtant. Mais les prix des avions au départ de la Birmanie pour aller en Inde sont très chers 😕
Même de Bangkok, les avions pour aller dans le nord-est indien sont hors de prix...
Nous qui voulions absolument aller dans cette région, on se demande s'il ne vaudrait pas mieux laisser tomber.

Je vous explique ma situation.
J'ai malheureusement perdu mon passeport , et je m'en suis rendu compte seulement 2 semaines avant mon départ pour une mission humanitaire en Libye. Je suis infirmière et cette mission me tient vraiment à cœur.
J'ai d'abord fait une demande de passeport d'urgence, qui a été refusée par la préfecture du Val-d'Oise, au motif qu'une mission humanitaire programmée ne constituait pas un motif impérieux.
J'ai donc déposé une demande de passeport biométrique le 20 juillet. Depuis, le suivi est bloqué et la mairie ne peut (ou ne veut) pas vraiment me donner d'informations. À chaque appel, on me donne une version différente. La dernière information que j'ai eue est que le passeport serait produit depuis le 23 juillet et avec un statut "va être expédié", mais depuis plus rien.
J'ai réussi à repousser mon départ au maximum à mardi prochain, mais je commence vraiment à paniquer.
Est-ce que certains d'entre vous ont déposé une demande autour du 20 juillet, notamment dans le Val-d'Oise (95) ? Combien de temps avez-vous attendu entre la production du passeport et sa mise à disposition en mairie ? Est-ce normal que cette étape prenne aussi longtemps ?
Cette mission représente énormément pour moi. J'avais tout organisé et je suis également censée assister au mariage d'une amie à la frontière juste après.

I have to leave for Perth, Australia in a week, for 7 days, and I couldn’t get my international driver’s permit due to processing and delivery delays.
The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.
Could anyone let me know if an international driver’s permit is necessary to rent a car in Australia (Perth), or if a French license is enough for a 7-day rental?
I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

Paper documents might not be accepted.

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.
