Pourquoi partir aux États-Unis?

puis peut-être aussi parce qu'on adore les burgers et la sauce bbq 😉

pour moi les USA ce sont avant tout des paysages naturels grandioses et très variés. Les parcs naturels sont très bien aménagés, l'infrastructure est incomparable.

Sérieusement, en paraphrasant Cyrano : "on pourrait en dire, Dieu! bien des choses en somme " tenez:Nostalgique: parce que j'ai bien aimé mon premier voyage là-bas, qui date de 20 ansAdmirative: Parce que, pour qui sait les trouver, il existe encore pas mal d'endroits vraiment magiques dans ce pays ( mais comme partout en fait).Géopolitique: Parce que le peuple américain, même s'il est parfois très "décalé" par rapport à sa "vision" du monde (culturellement, religieusement et/ou politiquement parlant), il n'en demeure pas moins attachant.Economique: Parce que le cours du dollar est plutôt intéressant ces temps-ci...😉Historique: parce que, passionnée d'Histoire, ( et viscéralement acquise à la cause des Amérindiens), j'y vais aussi, peut-être, pour y chercher des réponses à certaines questions que je me pose au sujet de l'Histoire de ce pays ( qui n'est que si peu la "patrie" de ses habitants d'origine....).Humoristique: parce que, quand on vient d'Europe, on a parfois l'occasion de conversations "surréalistes" avec les Ricains.....😉

On y va pour de nombreuses raisons :
pour les espaces immenses pour les parcs fabuleux de l'ouest tel que Yellowstone etc ... pour la diversité des paysages ! pour les mégalopoles tel que NY, L.A Pour les centres de divertissement tel que DisneyWorld, Universal Studios pour le cinéma pour l'acceuil, les américains sont pour leur grande majorité trés acceuillant, sympatique, amicaux ! pour la faune et flore hyper riche ! pour la demesure comme las vegas pour le shopping dans les grandes villes ainsi que dans les factory outlet ! pour en prendre plein la vue pour la richesse de la nation indienne pour se croire dans un film far west, futuriste, indiens etc ...

d'abord je te souhaite un joyeux noél, permets moi de tutoyer, c'est mieux on est jeune il faut pas etre compliquer.pour répondre a ta question pourquoi choisir les USA, car en amérique ta beaucoup d'oportunité, et là bàs il te juge par tes compétences et non par ta couleure ou ta race, et en plus c'est un immense pays ou tout est possible, et en plus tu peux faire plusieures métiers ta pas besoin d'éxpérience comme içi en françe on nous casse la téte par l'éxpérience les entretiens, les stages les formations et tout le monde est devenu comseiller en emploi que de perte du temps et quand ta fini tout ses conneries tu trouves que t'as déjà 60 ans .tu vois se que je veux dire.je parle en connaissance de cause, car j'ai vécu a NYC 4 annéés et crois moi c'etait super, la vie est moins chére le logement pas de probléme t'as de l'argent tu trouves le logement pas comme a paris il te faut des montagnes de papiers et en plus tu dois pas etre arabe ou noir, j'ai fais l'éxpérience, et en plus venant au choses sérieuses le filles sont tellement belles et ta le choix car au USA t'a la concurence alors t'as plus de succés et elles sont simples sans frime, pas comme celles d'içi elle se prennent par des miss monde, bien sur il faut pas géneraliser, mais crois moi les USA c'est un monde a voir car tu peux reussir comme perdre mais t'a plus d'oportunité q'uen france ou en europe;la preuve, il ya beaucoup de français qui partent en amérique plus que tu le croix et meme ils partent a london faute d'argent ou de connaissances.pourqoui je suis revenu ?c'st simple ma copine qui vivait en françe (française) m'a cassé la téte on s'est marié et je suis rentrer avec elle, et aprés 3 annéés de mariage j'ai divorcé car je pensais tjrs au USA, et je compte retourner a new york, car quand tu vis là bas tu peux plus supporter la vie a paris car on dirait que tu vis pas ou tu subis et d'ailleurs tous mes copains qui sont partis en amérique tout marche pour eux travail logement femmes, et ils ont cru içi en france étaient de leur faute mais une fois en amérique il ont découvert que c'etait la françe qui les laisser pas réussir, ils sont heureux ils sont tous français mais français de 2éme catégorie cad d'origine arabe, tu comprends ce que je veux dire.je suis entrain de voir comment rammaser un peu d'ragent pour patir, car la vie est trés courte pour voir nos réves s'envoler devant nous sans rien faire.si t'as d'autres questions je répondrais avec plaisir car il ya telement de choses a raconter sur ce pays.j'éspére que j'ai repondu a ta question.a plus et bonne féte.
la chose la plus térrible c'est de voir ses réves s'écroulés devant lui sans pouvoir rien faire, c'est pour ça parfois il faut forcer le destin et prendre un nouveau départ , et aprés tou est possible ..
Pourquoi partir aux USA?
C'est le seul pays où nous ressentons cette impression de liberté...Pas d'obligation de reserver ...tout juste l'avion et la voiture, ensuite le nez au vent nous roulons..sans vrai programme.Nous refaisons souvent les memes endroits en approfondissant. Nous aimons les USA...

En réalité, je me porte candidat pour aller étudier aux states pdt un an. Je ne sait pas précisement ou... Pour cela, il faut que je convainque un jury avec deds bons arguments qui tiennent la route... pas du genre culture populaire... soit disans paske je voudrai vivre comme dans les séries américaines, ca ne passerait pas de toute manière... Je connais mes envies et avait envie de découvrir les votre! Vous pouvez continuer biensur!

Parce que les paysages et parcs nationaux sont unique au monde ! a tomber par terre ! Si il y a bien un domaine ou les américains sont impréssionnant, c'est sur la préservation de leurs parcs nationaux......Forêts énorme, déserts immense, lacs grandioses, canyon géant, glaciers superbes.......
il n'y a pas d'équivalent en europe !! (quoi qu'en disent les écolos européens )
La premiére fois que j'y suis allé, j'avais l'impréssion d'être dans un film .
Dans ce cas, je pense qu'il faut plutot que tu axes ton exposé sur l'aspect culturel, non? 🙂
C'est en tout cas, en ce qui me concerne, encore plus que les grands espaces (indescriptibles, au demeurant) les américains. Bon, y'a évidemment des cons, comme partout, mais je me suis sentie beaucoup plus accueillie (du point de vue touristique) que dans beaucoup de pays européens (même pour ceux dont c'est le métier...), les gens étaient vraiment chaleureux, aimables, j'ai par exemple logé chez des gens que je connaissais via l'intermédiaire d'un intérmédiaire d'un intérmédiaire et ils m'ont ouvert leur porte sans se poser de questions, et avec joie en plus
Enfin, c'est difficile de se prononcer sans tomber dans les clichés, mais la culture nord américaine, c'est une grosse partie de ma culture aussi, et l'expérimenter... ça n'a pas de prix! C'est d'ailleurs pour ça que je pars vivre en Amérique du Nord (bon ok, pas aux USA, mais pas loin) l'année prochaine, parce que j'ai l'impression que c'est là bas ou tous mes intérêts sont cristallisés

l'idé m'est venue quand j'avais marre de ramer pour un emploi stable et pour aussi voir ce qui passe ailleure.car comme j'ai dit mes amis sont partis au USA, et ils mont conseiller de les rejoindre pour voir par moi méme, alors j'ai pris le billet et je suis parti, mais j'avais l'avantage que mon ami m'héberge chez lui en attendant de trouver du taf ce que j'ai trouve ds la semaine.et j'étais étonné de la démusure de ce pays et la libérté, que j'ai resenti car je peux rentrer a n'importe kel boite ou club, sans avoir peur d'étre refoulé, car je suis français d'origine marocaine, c'est pour ça je t'avais dit que la françe nous considére français de seconde catégorie.et a new york, j'avais le vice que je peux pas rentrer en boite ou en club mais mes amis m'ont dit là t'es en amérique et pas en françe, et je qaund je suis en magasin personne ne te surveille ou te fixe comme si tu étais un criminel, et meme quand je prends le métro a paris si une française voit que je suis dériere elle, elle croit que je vais lui piquer son sac et j'en passe, ect...si pour ça j'aimais les USA, tu peux faire ce que t'as envie persone ne te juge.là j'essaye de contacter mes copains car ils ya qui sont mariés ou ils vivent avec leur copines, comme ça j eprépare mon voyage, si non je pars a l'arrache et je loue une petite chanbre car le agences ne manque pas et elles sont pas chéres.car le dollars est bàs c'est le moment de partir.en plus je connais bien new york et sur place je verrais avec mes copains.joyeux noél et a plus.

Nous adorons les USA et depuis que nous avons découvert ce fabuleux pays en 1996, nous y passons nos vacances.
Nous réservons juste nos billets d'avion + location de voiture, et y faisons nos propres autotours, jusqu'ici toujours réussis.
Les gens sont très accueillants et les paysages sont magnifiques et diversifiés, etc...
C'est un pays ou je me sents bien
On touche vraiment les valeurs aux quelles on veut nous faire croire qu'on vit ici.
Ce qui est surtout étonnant, c'est que les Etats-Unis sont sans doute le seul pays pour lequel on pose cette question.
Comme si cela n'allait pas de soi d'aller passer qques jours oun qques semaines de vacances là-bas, aussi simplement qu'on va au Maroc, en Italie ou en Argentine. Comme si il y avait une réticence : "ah non, je ne vais quand même pas aller en vacances chez ces salauds d'américains" (quitte à aller dans de grandes démocraties que sont la Tunisie, Cuba ou l'Egypte).
On va en vacances aux Etats-Unis pour les mêmes raisons que partout ailleurs : les paysages (il y a en a beaucoup, c'est grand comme trois fois l'Europe) et les gens.
Fascinant, souvent....et parfois terrifiant!😕

La 1ere fois que j'y suis allé, se qui m'a choqué s'est le respect des gens, la politesse, le paysage, le mode de vie, la conduite en voiture, les boutiques, la nourriture etc.. bref presque tout. les gens se respecte enormement et sont tres poli, juste ils te frole ils s'excuse, te tienne la porte même si tu es à 10 metres de celle-ci, ils n'hesitent pas à t'aider, te renseigner etc... Les paysages sont magnifique, et gigantesque. L'americain n'est pas stressé, il prend la vie comme elle vient ( en tout cas en floride ), le sourire facile et toujours pret à rendre service. La conduite en voiture est zen, chacun se respecte au volant comme dans la vie, tres courtois. Les boutiques pour leurs enormes choix et des prix interessant. la nourriture est meilleur qu'en france ( c'est mon opinion et personne ne me fera changer d'avis ), ils servent des steacks de boeufs delicieux et crois moi tu as de quoi remplir ton estomac, s'est pas des steacks miniature comme en france, mais c'est un detail, car dans tous les restos je me suis regalé et pour bien moins cher qu'en france.
Bref, lorsqsue tu poses les pieds aux usa, il est difficile d'en repartir, lorsque tu poses les pieds en france, tu n'as qu'une envie ! y retourner.
Je suis français, mais lorsque tu reviens des stats, tu à honte de la france, le francais est personnel, egoiste, tres mal élevé, n'a pas de respect, ne peut pas profiter de la vie dans de telle condition.
En tout cas, on peut constater qu'une grande partie des amoureux des USA sur ce post ont un point commun : un refus total et généralisé de l'orthographe 😕😕😕😕😕😕

J'avais lu ce court passage mais désolé, cela ne m'a pas convaincu. Si je comprends bien, il veut, grâce aux réponses de chacun, présenter et argumenter ses motivations personnelles à un jury afin de partir étudier aux USA !!! Mouai, enfin s’il a tant envie d’y aller, je suis certain qu’il doit avoir ses propres idées, envies et attentes, qu’en penses-tu ??? De plus, sur ce forum nous parlons beaucoup plus de voyages (d’où le nom du site) que de travail !!! Tu me diras, il peut toujours dire qu’il veut travailler là bas pour pourvoir visiter les US le weekend, je suis certain que cela devrait plaire au jury 😉

je me retrouve dans les propos de mlaurent1, je souhaite partir aux états-unis (new-york et floride) mais mon mari ne comprends pas bien mes motivations (sans pourtant penser "ces salauds d'américains"), pour lui les vacances c'est djerba ou la republique dominicaine où je ne vois absolument pas ce que je pourrais faire.
Pour combler son désir de plage et farniente, j'ai regardé le panama ou visiblement beaucoup de quebecois vont, ce qui m'arrange. mais il me dit que c'est dangereux.
Si quelqu'un pouvait me conseiller, j'ai besoin de trouver la destination qui nous motivera

Je suis completement d'accord avec toi mais pas tout-a-fait quand meme😉. Comme pour la France, ca ne s'applique pas aux grandes villes comme New-York ou Chicago. C'est plutot la jungle urbaine et tres curieusement, les new-yorkais qui sont reputes pour etre plutot civilises deviennent de veritables sauvages quand il s'agit: de tenir la porte a quelqu'un (et je ne parle pas de la galanterie totalement inexistante dans leur culture tres egalitaire) de sortir/rentrer dans une rame de metro de jeter des ordure par terre de marcher sur quelqu'un pour choper un taxi de laisser passer les pietons aux passages cloutes (ils sont prets a te rouler dessus) de manger: les gouts culinaires sont assez speciaux. La bouffe est epouvantable, grasse sucree salee et sans saveur, ou alors ultra chere. Ils boivent un litchi martini avec du cassoulet, ou pire, un Zinfandel blanc! la standardisation de tous les produits (tu trouves la meme chose partout, dans toutes les enseignes que tu trouves dans le monde entier).
MAIS, personne ne va raler parce que ca va de soit. Chacun fait ce qu'il veut. Et c'est pour ca que j'aime les US/NY. Les gens ne sont pas agressifs et ne savent pas tout sur tout meme s'ils ne savent pas. Il n'y a pas de code preetabli et tu n'appartiens pas a une categorie sociologique definie par tes vetements, ton metier, ton adresse, ta voiture (ou serait-ce l'inverse?). Ma voisine va acheter sa cup de Venti Skim caramel Mocachino au Starbucks du coin en pyjama avant de redescendre quelques minutes plus tard en tailleur Prada rejoindre son chauffeur qui l'attend devant l'immeuble. A oui, elle est en baskets parce que c'est plus confortable...C'est pour ca qu'on y reste aux US, meme si tout n'est pas si rose que ca non plus (ne surtout pas tomber malade).

Stay from July 31 to August 26, 2026: Car rental – check, Hotels – check, Itinerary – almost check, Photo gear – check, Budget – check, 🤪 Meal planning – meh, we’ll see... Walmart, of course, for the cooler when we arrive.

Fort Worth: The Longhorns and the Stockyards; JR’s ranch (for the missus); Medal of Honor Museum – Arlington.
Houston and NASA Space Center: See the Gulf of Mexico/America.
San Antonio and the missions.
Fort Stockton for an overnight stop.
El Paso via Guadalupe Mountains: El Paso and White Sands.
Tucson and the Pima Air & Space Museum: Tombstone, Bisbee.

We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary. Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between: - The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc. - The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...

We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly! Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

There are several attractions along the way: - Mormon Rocks - Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite - Joshua Tree National Park - Mojave Desert - Mojave National Preserve - Anza-Borrego Desert State Park - Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.

My 16-year-old son is flying to Grand Rapids with other kids his age. There’s a layover in Detroit. There’s no unaccompanied minor service available. Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast. I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October. My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips. I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips. I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks... For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400, which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.). Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. They told us they’ve spent over 15 years exploring every corner of the American West, and it really shows. Their knowledge of geology, park history, and local anecdotes is just impressive. It’s nothing like someone reciting a memorized script. They answer all your questions and really adapt to what you want to see or do.
What we really loved: the vehicle was super comfortable, and the little details made a difference—like snacks and even a homemade cake! Though, to be fair, we devoured the cake right away, so that counts.
Since they know the sites inside out, they took us at the right times to avoid crowds. So we could enjoy peaceful picnics at Grand Canyon viewpoints without being packed in with 200 people. Plus, on top of the must-see spots, they showed us some hidden gems that were absolutely stunning—places we never would’ve found on our own. They’re true locals who know all the best tips.
The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus. In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
